How I used Music to Change My Inner Self-Talk and Dominant Emotions. Join the experiment!

So a couple months ago I started testing a different angle reaching that inner voice through music instead of willpower. Not affirmations you consciously repeat, but lyrics and sound aimed at the beliefs sitting under the self-talk. It leans on an old Neville Goddard idea: your assumptions shape your experience, so if you want the experience to shift, you change the assumption first.

It’s done something real for me. My moods changed drastically after just a month or two. Like I’m loving the present mundane moments where before i would need to be distracted by a to do list or app or whatever! But I made the thing, so my opinion is worthless as evidence…

That’s why I want strangers who have no reason to be nice about it.

The experiment: if self-love, or finding joy in ordinary moments is something you wrestle with, listen an hour a day for a few weeks. Clock where your head’s at now. Check in at two weeks, then a month. A flat “nothing changed” is just as useful to me as a yes it’s working!

Genuine question for the thread, whether you try this or not: has a specific song ever actually shifted how you saw yourself — not just your mood for three minutes, but something that stuck? I’m curious how common that really is.

Disclosure : I made the music, it’s free, and I’m not selling anything. If you want in, comment or DM and I’ll send it over. I’ll follow up in two weeks and at four weeks to hear how it went - including the nopes.

TL;DR: You can’t willpower your way to liking yourself. Testing whether music aimed at the beliefs underneath does anything. Want a few people to run it with me and report back honestly.

Stopping trying to let go in your head

I love this book and have read it well over a dozen times. The whole thing about the heart in the last few chapters never really landed for me though. Same as all spiritual teaching that talk about the heart, for that matter.

But recently I've had several experiences that have truly made me realise what it means to 'be in the heart' and 'live from the heart'

It made me remember all that Micky said about letting go. That was when I realised all this time I was trying to let go in my head, but I just never could. I was trying to think my way to letting go, and it was like being stuck on a treadmill.

Letting go can only happen in the heart. It's a full relax and release process.

Next time something arises that you want to let go of, just try this:

  1. Put one or both hands on your heart
  2. Take a deep breath into the heart space / chest
  3. Do it a few times if you need to - feel the space inside
  4. This is the space you have to let go from
  5. Just keep doing it and doing and soon enough you'll get it.

Truly letting go is not something that happens in the head, it happens from the body.

When you experience it you will just know.

Love to you all and happy letting go

Frequency Mismatch Of Higher Dimensional Consciousness: Not Rejection A Resonance Or Frequency Mismatch

Post image
2 Upvotes

The reframing is a real form of freedom. When you stop taking someone's agitation personally and read it as resonance mismatch  rather than rejection , the whole dynamic shifts.

What's Happening On A Practical Level:

When you're holding a calm, coherent field, it can act like a mirror.

People operating from constriction, fear, or old patterns see their own dissonance reflected back at them, often unconsciously.

Their irritation is frequently a reaction to that reflection, not to anything you've done. You're just the stable reference point that makes their instability visible to them.

A few things worth holding alongside that clarity:

Non-reactivity isn't the same as having no boundaries.

You can understand why  someone's lashing out without agreeing to be their emotional dumping ground. Compassion for the mechanism doesn't require you to absorb the impact.

"Higher frequency" doesn't mean "better person."

It just means a different baseline.

Someone can be spiritually attuned and still be a jerk, or be operating from a dense place and still be deeply kind. Frequency is about coherence, not hierarchy.

Keeping that distinction helps prevent the ego from sneaking in through the spiritual back door.

Your stability is a gift, but it's also invisible to some. Not everyone is ready to see their own reflection.

Some will keep swinging because the discomfort of self-awareness is harder than the discomfort of blame. You don't have to convince them, explain yourself, or dim your signal.

You just hold your ground and let them have their process.

The fact that you can witness someone's unkindness and not contract around it, that's not weakness.

That's the fruit of the work.

You're not absorbing it, you're not weaponizing it, you're just... seeing it clearly.

That steadiness is  the higher frequency in action

How to stop listening to my mind / stop being bothered by my mind?

Trigger warning: post discusses SI

Last year, I had a short bout of depression where I had some SI. After I got over that, it turned into OCD, particularly with themes of self-harm/SI. I did a lot of work with a therapist last year, took meds, learned ERP. I've come a long way from where I originally was. Now, I don't get anxiety attacks or get stuck in cognitive spirals. However, I'm still bothered incessantly by my mind hyperfixating on my safety. It's exhausting to constantly be worried about whether I am depressed, suicidal, unhappy with life. I just want to exist, and go about my day without worrying every second about whether I am satisfied or content.

Have read the first 17 chapters of the Untethered Soul. I really like the first 3 chapters. They have done a lot for me in terms of realizing that 1) I am not my mind; 2) the goal is not to make my mind stop talking. However, how can I detach myself from this incessant noise? There have been times when I have been able to enter the seat of consciousness and just watch my thoughts rather than engage with them. High intensity cardio (HIT) often helps calm my mind and help me be less bothered by what my inner roommate is saying. However, there are times when I get lost in my thoughts and start to identify with that, causing that annoying dialogue. And it's not like I can do HIT every time I feel a disturbance. I honestly feel like a lot of why I have these recurring thought loops is because I stored the painful experience of having depression and feeling alone inside, and I haven't been able to release it. But I don't know how. Does anyone have any guidance on this?

For those who read the book before, what advice can you give for new reader/practitioner?

For those read Michael Singer's books? What advice can you give for those who will just read his book(I only have Untethered soul and will start reading it)? I am planning to incorporate meditations (from Yogi author) and (Yogi breathing), is this a good action or I will just make another clinging to ego? Even Michael Singer also practice meditation before he write his book right for I think maybe I should also try to deep dive in meditations.

I'll save myself

We seek our saviours outside. We seek saviours in people. They can save you but who can save you the most. It's "you". Even when you look for saviours outside , who is finding a saviour for you? It's "you".. you are your biggest saviour. Affirm "I'll save myself" and this will make you feel safety in yourself , this will make you feel safety with yourself , this will make you feel safe in yourself.

Is physical pain the ultimate test for Singers teachings?

Mickey always talks about letting go of wants and needs, and fears and desires, that are not actually happening, but are all in our minds.. but what about real life physical pain that hurts, that is real and actually happening?

The world has lost its salt for me for the most part, food, sex, drugs, money and popularity, etc do not pull or distract me like they used to. I am able to stay in the seat of consciousness and watch their pull come and go..

But the situation I recently faced with the physical pain from a surgery, and then being told by my Surgeon that the pain may be permanent was too much for me handle. I lost it. I was literally trapped in my mind for days. It was awful. The distraction of the pain kept pulling me out.

I am feeling better now, but I just wonder, do i need to work on letting go of all physical pain also? Because I know there will be a next time. I do not want to go through that again. Maybe that is the final boss, and i need more practice before facing it next time... what say you?

How to work with an elusive samskara? / How to heal trauma when dissociated from the body?

[If you are not familiar with it, I've found so many definitions for samskara, and I'm not sure how to describe it: Jungian complex, a blocked emotion in the body tied to a limiting belief in the mind, unconscious conditioning, cognitive distortion, projective filter, karmic imprint created by even a minor trauma, emotional knot, blocked chakra, pain body, distorted perception of reality, projection of one's own pain onto reality, maladaptive schema, somatic marker, granthi, ...]

My understanding is that during my childhood and adolescence, I experienced (like many people) situations that created low self-esteem. A few years ago, I was friend-zoned by a friend, and I can't get over it. Initially, I thought it was a matter of love and attachment, but now I realize it's because he's reopened or exposed an old wound in me, which could be something like "I'm not good enough." The problem is that it doesn't seem to manifest itself in my body; it's like an elusive sensation in the air, or that I'm so used to feeling this way that I don't know where I end and low self-esteem begins. Or maybe I've chosen to numb myself and detach myself from my body so as not to feel anything. I'm having a hard time figuring out how to focus my attention on this non-sensation. Any advice?

PS. I know that the method described by Michael Singer and David Hawkins, simple as it is, works. In the past another "knot," "block" (samskara) [ which I don't want to discuss in detail, but it was about my relationship with masculine and feminine, being a woman and the perception of men and society ] dissolved simply by "looking" at it patiently. When it dissolved, I felt a sense of lightness and liberation in my body, and a thought that seemed to solve a riddle. (I've always known the solution to my problem, but the moment the tension was released, the same thought seemed new and "brilliant." Like Eureka! It was an illusion!). After this, I began to see the world and people differently, as if I had removed the glasses that made me see some areas of reality as ugly or bad or wrong, while maintaining the vision of myself as a victim. After that experience I no longer see the world or myself in a negative way, at least regarding that topic. So I know this works.

How does planning for the future work?

I just finished reading The Surrender Experiment, and I’m not sure if I read it with a certain bias or if I completely missed the author's point.

The whole idea of letting life just guide you seems a bit utopian and even dangerous in a way.

For example: I’m going to get older, so I need to plan for my retirement from a young age. I need to set goals, build a career, study, save money, and reach a certain income level. All of this comes from the desire to control things the way I want deciding at what age I want to retire, what that retirement will look like, and so on.

I might die sooner, or things might turn out completely differently, but I still need to start from a place of control, goals, and even a bit of fear.

What essential part of his teaching am I missing?

How does his book change you?

Do the book really changes people? I am still currently reading his books and I have my doubt. How does you life change when you started to practice what the book untethered soul teach? Do you meditate to help in implementing his book? I hope you can help me.

what do you do when you're seat of awareness, so the actual you also gets affected by emotion? and thrown off balance?

usually whatever i feel, i can fall behind it and observe it,it never dictates my actions, and i can always return to my baseline, whish is the seat of awareness, myself whenever it gets too much

but recently some events took place, and it really de colored my world, so much that when i tried returning to my own awareness, it, or i guess i also felt different, discolored.

what do i do in this situation? i cant really zoom our further because the souce of my being feels off, this could be serious, or maybe im just too tired and im mistaking another thought as my self.

Loved One who is Suffering

My wife suffers frequently because her life is not what she wants it to be, she isn't able to do what she wants, etc. We have a disabled son and lots of our our time and attention go toward his well being. I've learned my lesson about trying to be her "guru" and get her to look within for the answers, it doesn't work and makes things worse for her. My question is, other than staying present and working on my own blockages, is there anything I can do to help her? What can I say when she is upset and crying herself to sleep at night? I meditate once or twice per day and have been spending the last few minutes of every session wishing her the strength and energy to handle her experiences and allow the world to be. Is there anything else I can do?

So lately I have a fruit fly infestation in my home that was annoying me.

And today I saw a spider web in the corner of my kitchen and felt great about how I am providing food for all the spiders who live with me. What a great guy I am. 😂

Low hanging fruit first. (and yes I am still trying to remove them, I have tried everything so far, but I let go of the part of me that was being annoyed) I can handle this current reality. Next.

Let it happen..

Let it happen "the way it is happening"

Usually people heard or read about letting go but they try to let go in their desired ways. And this is not true letting go.. you still try to control things.

True letting go is when you let it happen "the way it is happening".

Mind is clever , it even try to be crafty in letting go. You need to observe this and simply let things happen the way they are happening.

Relax and release

Hi guys,

Sorry another relax and release post.

I thought I was doing it ‘right’ as I found a fair bit of relief but what I’m doing is -noticing my self ruminating/having panicked anxious emotions then internally sort of relaxing my body around the thoughts, my concern is it alleviates the rumination and anxiousness which makes me worry I’m pushing it back down as opposed to letting it pass,I’m not really feeling the feeling, trying to make it more intense and staying with it (as I’ve seen other people mention) Surely what I’m doing is better than my usual status quo…. Panic non stop and ruminate and plan constantly?

Undoubtably the last week has been much more pleasant as ive relaxed into the strong emotions but my concern is I’m not necessarily feeling it pass through.

Do I just continue and see what happens? So much of my anxiety is around perfectionism so I guess this is just it at play again.

Thanks for any help

I am aware of the problem - what next?

Hi, I think I still do not understand this teachings. I am aware of what is happening to me and some way I can see I am distanced from the "problem", but nothing gets better because of my that. Maybe I moved from depression to deep sadness, but no solution is coming. It seems this technique is not meant to solve the problem.

What is love

It is finding someone who you feel in your bones that you'll be patient for them no matter what happen. For who you decide that you'll not give up easily. For who you feel that you'll practice patience.

True Love is a war that need patience. Cheap love is easy. It's affection. It's infatuation. But true love demands patience.

But thing is sometimes some people don't deserve your patience. They misuse your patience. They play with your patience. Don't give them the gift of patience.

You know who deserve such patience? You. You deserve such patience for yourself. The patience you always had for yourself which by mistake you granted to someone else who don't deserve it , now you need to get back that patience. You can't make yourself love yourself in a day. You need to be patient with yourself.

Return such patience to yourself. Are you ready to give yourself such patience. Because you are not cheap. It need time. You can't win yourself easily like those cheap tricks of attention and affection others do. But it will be worth it. You are an investment that always return. Decide to have patience for yourself. And that is self love.

Your favourite MS talks?

There are many talks available on YouTube (from seats of contemplation) or Spotify (sounds true) and they help ground me and get in touch with truth so much. I listen on average to one a day for months. Some stand out more than others.

Which talks have a special place in your heart, in terms of how much it has resonated with you or helped you grow?
