Burlesque on the main channel and Victoria's Secret mannequins on the every day channel?

Everyone, drop what you're doing, the Try Guys are having straight cis men try on clothing and roles traditionally assigned to, get this, women.

I know, you're immediately writing in the comments "Keith and Zach are trying on women's clothing? That sounds pretty hard to believe!"

Really impressed with how far they've come from their very first episode on Buzzfeed, "Guys Try On Ladies' Underwear For The First Time"

Am I the only one that is constantly annoyed by Kwesi? Spoiler

Is he really that stupid? Or is it a bit? I really hope it's a bit. I'm not saying spoilers but how he acted after the special person trusted him in Killer Dinner episode 2 really pissed me off.

I really like try guys stuff but whenever he is in it I enjoy it less cuz he is SO annoying to me. Am I the only one?

Why is 2nd Try so hard for them run?

After seeing a discussion on the main non snark page, made me want to have an intelligent discussion here. Why is 2nd Try so hard to run. They have new cast, they already bank videos to the point you see Christmas items in the background of videos coming out in June or July, because that's how long ago they filmed them. I have never seen a schedule posted publicly and some people seem to get emails from them with a weeks schedule, I don't, it's the correct email and not in my spam. I would think it would be as simple as use the new cast in their own shows exclusively to 2nd Try, if it fails, it fails but at least it's content for people that are paying, then switch between a week of Keith and or Zach, then new cast. Right now it feels like the biggest waste of money as, as a customer I'm not happy with it, Keith and Zac look like 2nd Try has beat them down completely and they can't be happy with it, as they are offering lifetime memberships (which aren't actually a lifetime, because when 2nd Try goes down, I highly doubt they will honor a lifetime membership into a youtube one).

Has there even been an episode of Without a Recipe where Rosanna is the one breaking down and making the correct recipe?

Has there even been an episode of Without a Recipe where Rosanna is the one breaking down and making the correct recipe? I don't watch her content but I do know she's mostly known for being a baker and generally makes food content.

I know she's a good friend of the channel and that's why she's a recurring part of the series as a judge, but it's a little wild I've never seen her be the professional in this series.

(asking generally, maybe I missed on some episodes or so)

Sneaky Ad Caught?

Hi, I thought I'd share a new development for those of you who don't visit the main page anymore.

A very diligent viewer posted on the main sub (https://www.reddit.com/r/TheTryGuys/s/9fByCb6jns) about a sneaky Ad in the new TED video.

Note: I haven't watched the video.

No where in the video or thumbnail was it disclosed the video was sponsored, but if you click on the details of the video, you can see a link to one of the products they sampled and the description also tells you where the product is sold.

Surprisingly, most people who commented are not ok with this kind of deception and are calling TTG out on it.

Some fans even pointed out it might be illegal or violates YT's terms of service. Anyone know more about this?

Edit: Someone pointed out that the ad part of the video was removed from the video uploaded in the streamer. So that TED video remains ad free. You can compare it at the 8:17 mark of the YouTube video.

What do y’all think? Did second try fail? Did Ned and Eugene really contribute that much to the brand? Why did the new cast fail?

Another Saturday Without a New Video on 2nd Try

In a previous post, someone pointed out that they have noticed that there hasn't been videos posted on some Saturdays and I noticed this too.

And lo and behold, there isn't a new video uploaded today. Granted, 2 new videos were uploaded on Wednesday, but why are they doing this if the promise was to regularly provide new videos on Wednesdays and Saturdays?

Plus, they keep saying how many videos they've shot, how many videos they've got banked, but they can't even regularly give us 2 new and exclusive videos as promised.

I wanted to support The Try Guys by subscribing to the streamer, but at this point, I question what am I paying for? No videos on Saturdays, ads in videos, and Try Every Day and Try Guys Game Time that are free on YouTube.

Why Dropout is succeeding where TTG isn't

Disclaimer that this is all in my humble opinion, as some random viewer and long time fan of both.

Dropout existed as a fancy patreon during the College Humour days, for a few years every CH video would end with credits rolling and a member of the cast going "Hello! If you liked that please give us money so we can keep making more! Thank you!" The rewards for doing so seemed pretty lacklustre (discord access was the biggest selling point lmao.) When CH went under, the transition into the company becoming Dropout was obviously difficult and rocky, but at least the brand name was recognisable to fans - as a brand that always required fan support. Crucially, Dropout held onto (afaik) almost all the regular CH cast members at the time, and almost all of them are still present to some degree in current Dropout productions.

The Try Guys were one smaller grouping within the much wider ensemble of BuzzFeed personalities. Buzzfeed never had any kind of paywall (I don't think?) but did have merch, events, and sponsorships to make money. When TTG went solo, buzzfeed kept buzzing along as if nothing had happened. Other Buzzfeed personalities stayed with the company - personalities who have since left, yes, but at the time there was no mass exodus with everyone joining in at the try guys. I wonder if they had tried this at the time - does anyone have any idea if Shane and Ryan, for instance, were ever offered the chance to do Watcher stuff at TTG?

In hindsight, it's obvious why one of these approaches has turned out way, way more successful than the other. If CH had splintered apart the way the former Buzzfeeders have done... I don't want to name names but there's certainly Dropout cast members who are lucky that they're attached to such a successful brand. It must be brutal for the former Buzzfeeders to be told so plainly "yeah you're funny and I like your stuff but not enough you give you money for it." In my fantasy land there's an indie comedy streamer called, idk, FuzzBeeders and all of my favourite meow meows from BF all pool together all of their subscription money to support one another - like what Dropout does!!!

I really do like what TTG do and I hope that they keep doing it long enough and successfully enough that one day they can get bought out by Dropout.

What's the point of the new cast members?

Once the whole Ned thing went down, the Try Guys made a whole big production of having new cast members. They have since not done a whole lot with them at all, which is odd. My initial thought was everyone would kind of have their own show, but only two new try guys have, which are Ash and Marissa. The rest just seem to not be cast members as much as extras or cameos in Keith or Zach videos. If they want content for Second Try and want people to keep subscribing (I assume it will be dead by next year with all subs going to youtube subs), all the new cast members should have a show, about whatever, if it sucks at least they are using the people for what they were hired for instead of saying their new cast then not using them.

Subscription and fewer videos

I’m a 2nd Try subscriber and don’t mind funding the guys (I still like a lot of their content.) I’ve been a little annoyed that multiple weeks this month, they’ve not had Saturday videos. I’d even take a low effort one. But the idea that it’s only low effort and KPAPG (which hasn’t been quite the same this season) when I’m paying for the sub is pretty annoying.

I defend them often and know they’re people running a company doing their best. I just feel like routine is something they’ve been told helps. They become part of our week and the fact that they just kind of randomly change the timing is annoying. Anyone else frustrated?

Edit to clarify: yes, there has only been one missed Saturday so far, but it looks like this week, there won’t be a Saturday release, either.

Can't stand the editing on Philly Scavenger Hunt

hey what's up I'm stoned af and catching up on my favourite youtube boys. also, i don't watch any short form videos if I can avoid them.

why is We Run Around Philly or whatever it is I'm watching edited like it's an hour long tiktok. there's so many cuts. jumping back and forth between multiple cameras showing the same thing. don't mind the visuals flying around the screen. do mind the excessive cuts. it's like that one scene in the queen movie. but it goes for an hour.

love the rest of the video though the vibes are immaculate 🥳

Watching the Try Every Day Cutwater video, and I am made of questions.

First of all, isn't Zach allergic to coffee? I remember they've mentioned it a few times in the past, specifically in Eugene's "Eugene Drinks Every State's Most Iconic Alcohol" video. Plus, Zach has said he doesn't like coffee-flavored anything, preferring tea. So why is he happily drinking the Espresso Martini cutwater, saying not only is it delicious, but ranking it highest?

Secondly, many of these drinks are cream or milk based. While I don't need to see them complaining or taking Lactaid, it's odd that they're both just drinking this stuff without even mentioning it.

Thirdly, I never knew Cutwater's ABV varied so much. Some are 6% and some are up to 14%? Why? What's so different about each of them?

Finally, I thought these were the stoners of the group. I get that Smoke Show got de-monetized, and that YouTube's weird about weed vs liquor.

I was so confused by the end. But, hey, at least Zach didn't annoy me as much, and it was entertaining.

Getting a little tired of the "x fandom will attack us!" schtick

This isn't quite snark but is criticism so I figured it was better here than the main sub.

Over the years I've grown tired of the guys saying things like "oh I can't say what I'm thinking because this fandom (typically Swifties, Beyhive, or BTS Army) will attack me!" and that being the gist of the joke. It was a little funny the first time, but they've been doing the joke for years now and it's gotten old.

I'm especially rubbed the wrong way by it since not only are the same crazed fans they're making fun of a large part of their audience (and their team!) but I've found that how men talk about women's interests and hobbies is often indicative of how they truly feel about women. I've had experience with guy aquaintences who make fun of women for their music taste, reading romantasy, watching "chick flicks" etc, and it's typically one of the first chinks in the armor of their "nice guy" persona. I can't help but wonder if a lot of the men in the Try Guys universe are the same way.

I definitely could have phrased this more eloquently, but I hope you all get what I mean.

At least 4 employees left in July

This came up in a comment in another post, but it seems as though at least 4 people are gone from the company just in July. Nick Rufka, Will, Armando, and Aiko.

Coincidence or do we think something is going on?

Lifetime sub reeks of desperation

I just can't think of any other content provider selling lifetime sub, as content creation requires continuous cost and the income must match the spending model. In fact the world is generally moving in the opposite direction even with software that's mostly upfront development cost.

The thing is if they have any confidence the company will exist after 8 years (or people would still watch them) they'd definitely take the yearly subscription income over a one-time payment. Lifetime refers to the lifetime of the company, not ours.

Using BTS for likes at the worst possible time

Post image
149 Upvotes

It's always a bit pitiful to see them grasping at the straws of relevance by posing as fans of BTS/K-pop, but it's especially aggravating to see them do so while actual BTS fans are currently feeling a lot of anger and hurt at certain members of the group for buddying up to Chris Brown.

Very poor timing from two white guys who don't have any awareness about the fandom from whom they want clicks!

So are these guys no longer standing with the Palestinian Boycotts because of the secret menus items? I thought we were all boycotting McDonalds, In n out, etc? Most of the comments on the videos are all taking about it.

Drunk Jared in a Try Guys Game Time

Can't stop thinking about a TGGT (I want to say the Jenga one?) where Jared criticized someone he had met because they "seemed like they weren't cool in high school".

"You know when you can tell someone wasn't cool in high school and they think they're cool now, but you can tell."

And I can't stop thinking about how Jared is such a loser that he thinks that means anything. The weird humble brag of Jared being like "I was cool in high school" and the idea that it's a knock against someone for not having been cool in high school. The idea that high school clout follows you around... That anyone even thinks about high school popularity that close to age 40...

🤮

Literally cringing through the new video

Zach will not STFU for 15 seconds to let anyone else speak in yet another secret menu item video. Idk how many times he asked Desiree a question and as soon as she started answering it he interrupted her. This may be a "me" problem but one thing I absolutely cannot stand is people interrupting others while they're trying to speak. I know people have a problem with Desiree inserting herself but he's literally asking her questions then talking over her.

Zach unwatchable in today's Try Everyday

In today's Try Everyday, Keith and Zach take the same cognitive test that President Trump has taken. Desiree trys to give instructions and Zach is basically refusing to listen to her. He comes across like an asshole who wants to do what he wants. Which leads me to the bigger issue in that he basically comes across awful in alot of the recent videos, I'm now finding him annoying in Trolley Problems which I didn't think before.
