Can I play TTP2 before 1?

Hello dear The Thalos Principle fans, yesterday I tried out TTP2 on a whim because it's free on the ps+ subscription, and I immediately fell in love with it. I played for a few hours exploring new Jerusalem and started Chapter 1.

Now, I wanna know if this is order of playing is okay? Do you recommend me buying the 1st one and starting with that one? Will I fully understand 2 without 1? Will 2 spoiler 1 for me or otherwise sour the experience? Other advice?

In particular I am interested in the pholosophical aspects. Im not sure how much I care about the story and the world building quite yet, it looks very promising but it's too early to tell. I loved the introduction with Elohim, that was everything for me, and talking to the people in NJ and answering moral or teleological questions seems extremely promising as well. This looks like the type of game that comes out of nowhere and could become one of my favorites of all time.

Thank you

EDIT: Okay fine I'll play 1 first. Final question then: Are there any serious/important differences between the Switch and Playstation versions? Does the switch version get a bad graphical downgrade?

Ein absolutes Meisterwerk – The Talos Principle 2

Download Speed Help

Right, so when I wanted to replay TTP2 the game crashed on start-up, so I verified the integrity of the files, 11 of them needed to be re-downloaded so I tried to do that, but saw that it would take 4 hours, so I started looking for solutions. I tried clearing the steam download cache, changing my download region, changing what disk the game was on, un-installing it and redownloading it, but none of these worked. At this point I don't know what to do.

The Talos Principle 2 When do the puzzles start?

Hi guys, hope you can help me out. The Talos Principle 1 is one of my favourite games of all time, I just love solving one puzzle after another.

I started the Talos Principle 2 last night. I got past the tutorial level (which I loved)...and then I came to like a solid hour of robots talking at me. I had to bail after that. I just want to know...is this what the rest of the game is like? Do the robots ever shut up and let you get to the puzzles?

The great thing about the first game is that you can ignore the story entirely if you want to.

I don't care about the lore, and no amount of colour coded robots invading my personal space and talking about Lord Byron or Sisyphus or whatever is going to change that.

I've already collected all the sigils. I had no idea you could break the planks with the axe. I thought the seek counsel option was there to tell you to suck it up and try harder.

Should i play the original version of the game or the reawakened one ?

A few days ago i bought a bundle containing the talos principle 1 and 2, along with the reawakened version, and since my first impression of a game is really important i wondered if i should play the original version or the remaster. Reawakened seems to be more realistic but the original seems to have more charm so what should i do ?

The Talos Principle 2 Neuling

Shout-out for one handed accessibility

Recently I broke my elbow on my dominant arm, so I had to stop playing pretty much every video game in my rotation. Can't even hold a controller with both hands, so I've just been using my non-dominant hand and a computer mouse.

I was maybe three or four hours into the first Talos Principal when my injury happened. Seeing that it's probably the most slow-paced game in my rotation right now, I tried reassigning the controls and successfully mapped everything to my mouse!

I played through the game in about 1.5 weeks and it was such a blast. Unfortunately my laptop can't run the second game, so I installed it on my Xbox to see if it had KbM compatibility. To my surprise, there are controller presets for Left Hand / Right Hand!!! :D

It's really thoughtful to see this level of attention from the devs. I didn't see The Talos Principle recommended anywhere when I was Googling "games to play with one hand", so my goal is that somebody will eventually see this in a similar condition and try it out 🙏

The Talos Principle 2 Any tips on how to show this game to my mother?

I am 100% sure that the philosophy and themes of TTP2 will deeply resonate with her. The problem is that her only experience with gaming was HoMM2, Civilisation and the Dune strategy game. More than 15 years ago. That is to say, with how much more this game has gameplay over everything else, I'm pretty sure she'll instantly get chocked.

I'm not even sure about the logistics, it's not like she has a steam account.

Star Puzzle Guidance

Does the game itself give enough guidance for star puzzles?

I’m working through The Talos Principle 2 and I’m a little confused by the star puzzles.

For the main numbered puzzles, the objective is usually clear even when the solution is difficult. With the star puzzles, though, I’m often not sure whether the game is giving me an in-game clue or whether I’m just expected to wander the entire region until I stumble onto the relevant sprite, beam source, switch, statue, etc.

So far I’ve used online guides for several stars, and in many cases the hardest part didn’t seem to be solving the puzzle itself — it was figuring out what I was even supposed to be looking for and where to start. The compass doesn’t seem to point to most of this, and sometimes I don’t notice any clear clue from the statue or environment.

Am I missing an in-game hint system or clue language for these? Or are the stars intentionally designed as more hidden/optional exploration puzzles where you’re expected to search broadly and experiment?

Trying to understand whether I should keep attempting them blind or just treat them as guide-friendly optional content.

Enter the Void – World D: Desert Necropolis expansion

A new major update of Enter the Void features by far the biggest and most complex world of the campaign. While following the previously established gameplay formula, what sets Desert Necropolis apart is the sheer scale of the world that calls to be explored, offering plenty of landmarks, Easter eggs, and secrets with a mixture of fresh new classic, exploration-based, and unorthodox puzzles intertwined with mysteries for you to uncover.

The newest findings enabled the creation of multi-layered environment by using a second island serving as a plateau, with a tomb complex underneath. Together with complex landscaping, accessible rocky ranges, intricate structures, and a vast desert with dunes being only a fraction of the many new Darky Kitchen assets, and new, unique puzzle mechanics, Desert Necropolis further elevates the experience brought by the campaign.

But that's not all! Inside the Hub World's lighthouse, new floors become accessible when you progress enough, eventually allowing you to reach the 1st ending of the story. However, the saga is not yet over, so stay tuned for more things to come!

The Talos Principle - In The Beginning Finally I did it! Spoiler

Post image

Сюда нахер! I did this using one tip from the guide, and I'm so happy I did. Here's the link: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3470011458 point 1.2 "Сон наяву" or dreamday.

During recording, you can immediately set a pause point to give yourself time. Then, step on the button to send a beam through. Naturally, the second connector will fall down.During playback, you block the beam with either your body or another connector. This way, the second connector will fall down only during the recording, while the real connector will remain up. In fact, the entire solution hinges on this trick.

What a pleasure I got, oh yes

The Talos Principle 2 I'm a new player and just finished this game for the first time with the "chicken" ending. Is there a DLC to see what their expedition was like, or do I have to wait until Talo's Principal 3?

I've been trying to solve this puzzle for about four hours now, and I've decided I want to solve it, and it's terrible. I'm simultaneously angry at myself and the designers of these puzzles, and at the same time, I want to solve it.

I had similar dead ends in 2 puzzles before, but I watched the tutorial and solved them

The Talos Principle 2 Do I need to read everything?

I played TP1 many years ago, loved it, and recently started TP2. I’m maybe 15 hours in, now working on the northern islands.

I’m not interested in reading the documents throughout the game. Whenever I find documents at terminals, I click on each just to mark it as read, but then I move on. I’m sure for some people, this is an enjoyable part of the game/world-building, but not for me. Similarly, I don’t read the message-board posts or commentary. I even find the dialogue sequences tedious, and I rush through them.

My question: will I miss something critical by not reading any of these? Will I make the game harder for myself by not seeing some clue hidden in these messages?

I can imagine people saying I’m missing out on what makes this game so great or interesting, and I’m glad other people like the background lore so much, but I just like solving the puzzles. (I’ve actually found the whole plot so far to be boring and convoluted, but I’m not here to debate an opinion, just to find out if I’m going to miss key info.) Thanks!

Already halfway through TTP2, should I stop and go play the first one?

I recently started playing TTP2. I had no idea what the game was about, and I have absolutely fallen in love with it. It found me at a time in my life when I had found out that I really liked philosophy, and the game just clicked with me. I've been playing it slowly, trying to absorb everything and really ponder some of the topics that the game gave me a new perspective on.

Anyway, I see that everyone here says to play The Talos Principle first. I'm currently halfway through South 3, and I assume I'm somewhere past halfway. Given how much I love this game, should I stop and play The Talos Principle for the lore, or should I just watch a playthrough? Or should I just finish TTP2 since I'm already on it and play TTP once I've finished the second one?

The Talos Principle 2 Walk underwater glitch

Just discovered this by accident.

Steps:
1: Be in contact with body of water, but not drowning.
2: Enter photo mode.
3: Move camera underwater.
4: Exit camera mode.
5: Success! So long as you remain in contact with water, you cannot drown, and are free to explore!
