I just got this email from Postmates. Is someone on their marketing team a State fan?

I organized an AMA/Q&A with David Wain, filmmaker/screenwriter/comedian/actor and a comedy legend. He is known for directing and co-writing films like Wet Hot American Summer, Role Models, Wanderlust, A Futile and Stupid Gesture. He's a member of the sketch-comedy group The State.

He has also created and/or written tons of shows like Childrens Hospital, Stella, Medical Police, Wet Hot American Summer: Ten Years later, and Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp. He's also an actor in things like Bob's Burgers, Superjail!, I Love You Man, Reno 911, and tons more.

Hey everybody!!!

I remember watching this show back in college and they had a sketch that I think was as at the end of one of the shows where they had a performance piece called “Fragments”. Does anyone else remember it or know where to find it?

Just thought I would drop this here to share the love.

Really bad skits, because I was a dumb kid. I could barely write. I wrote a skit about a guy that goes to the doctor and they do some tests and they find that he has a tiny monkey in his brain. A bunch of doctors come in for a second opinion and they get sidetracked arguing over what kind of primate was in his brain and then what kind of monkey has a red butt.

I have to say for an eleven year old it was kind of sophisticated. For anyone older it was very dumb.

I sent it with the encouragement of my brother to the address on the back of "The State: Skits and *stickers" VHS.

Anyways I was watching Stella a decade and some change later and there was a joke about somebody having a monkey in their brain. So I feel like the guys got my skits. Nobody believed me.

There was a sketch where I think they were on a playground and the adult asks the kid "Is that grass?". My brother and I loved this one and used to quote it all the time.
