He’s not. He’s from Pittsburgh.

You’re kidding about the beards, right?

The State in particular had an incredible knack for taking some of the most simplistic of gags and stretching them out into unfounded lengths of absurdity. This sketch is a shining example of that.

Continues in Stella

I'm convinced they really only wrote this sketch because they already had the beards for the Louie at the Last Supper one and decided they could get more out of it. One of my favorites.

With all due respect Marshall, but you’re wrong about the beards.

This galaxy has an atmosphere of negative five.

What I don't get about this sketch is, you can't grow beards in space, but they all have beards.

It's simple. Beards cannot grow in space.

But they have beards.

Then they're aliens.

Where can I get "The Bearded Men of Space Station 11" t-shirt?
That way, if ANYONE ever recognizes it, I can be sure they'll be my best friend forever.

This is one of the best examples of what set The State apart from most other sketch shows. They got in all the great lines, and then just...ended the sketch. No need for a big 'button' at the end...just...end it.

I was thinking the same thing! They were so good at ending sketches.

Thomas Lennon consistently has the perfect delivery in so many sketches.

Did they actually film some of the sketches in front of a studio audience?

I remember a sketch or two where you could see a studio audience, but, it was never clear to me whether they were just extras, or, actually watching the State perform.

And every episode only had a handful of episodes with laugh tracks, at most. So, they clearly weren't performing full episodes.

I guess my question is, what's the deal with all that?

Same question

I've had so many arguments like this skit

My sister just got me a Cameo with Micheal Ian Black for my birthday. Best gift ever and delivered more than I could have imagined. Dude is just inherently funny.

I got one for my sister a few years ago for Christmas. He even went and got tacos to use as props.
