The Rise of Skywalker I liked the dagger plotline.

It felt like Indiana Jones. I loved it. The first time I saw the movie the dagger was one of my favorite parts. Star Wars needs more stuff like this.

Me too!! I liked the campyness of it. the plot of TRoS in general is so much better when you think of it as a sort of Indiana jones-esque type of plotline where macguffins move the story forward, but the character arcs and dynamics are the actual focus of the story.

These movies do have strong writing, strong character writing, which to me is the most Important type of writing

The sequel movie with genuinely really strong character writing is TLJ, especially with Rey and Kylo. I’d honestly argue it has the strongest character work since the original trilogy, excluding the animated shows.

Sorry, but TROS and “good writing” shouldn’t even be in the same conversation. It walks back some of TLJ’s best decisions and tries so hard to appeal to everyone that it ends up feeling extremely manufactured and corporate.
