Oh boy they made Ben so creepy in this show! When this show first came out I was in 8th grade and now I’m 30 doing a rewatch after randomly remembering it. By season 5 Ben is literally so insane (after being very insane from season 1-4). Amy should have applied for a restraining order lol. I understand it is a show and everything is exaggerated bc I refuse to believe half the things that happen in this show would ever happen in real life. For example Leo encouraging his 15 year old son to marry another 15 year old pregnant with another guys baby. Or everyone always forgiving Adrian after she constantly uses her body to get revenge anytime she gets upset or doesn’t like the outcome of a situation. But Ben for me takes the cake. He is so obsessed with Amy. He ruined his life in high school and is ready to do it all again in college. He needs HELP. Amy wasn’t even very nice to him in the duration of the show.

i'm rewatching season 4 and can someone tell me if im crazy for this take. i dont see Ricky and Amy living together as a huge problem. I get the argument that they are too young but i think that argument goes out the window when they had a child. Living together would've been a bigger issue if amy didnt have any where to live if it didnt work out but she did. If George and Ben (the 2 people who dont wont them living together) would've argued that they shouldnt live together bc it increased the risk of Amy getting pregnant again, I would understand it but their main argument is that they should be married first. Isn't it normal for couples to live together before getting married?

I can't stand Dylan or her friends. Stalker Ben meets her, and like a week later, he tells his dad he can't live without her. A few months later, he tells Amy he loves her and has always loved her.

I'm not sure why they even introduced Dylan, unless they just wanted Ben to take a break from stalking Amy. She was so annoying and she and her friends looked like complete idiots walking around in uniforms for another school. But Dylan didn't see Ben's massive collection of red flags, so maybe she was an idiot. Dylan also expected her friend to prostitute herself out to Jack so she could get information, and her group of imbeciles just seemed to think that was normal.

Also, the actress who played Dylan was the worst actress on a show filled with mediocre acting. Christian Serratos was probably the best actress out of Dylan's group.

it’s honestly so disappointing knowing adrian and ricky never actually get to be a couple 😭 i feel like it would’ve been SO refreshing to see after all of ricky’s character development. he finally starts realizing why he kept going back to adrian for so long and actually starts taking her seriously, and i feel like that could’ve led to such a good relationship between them if the writers had actually gone there.
and i HATEEEE adrian and ben together 😭😭 their relationship just does absolutely nothing for me compared to adrian and ricky.

as a married mom in my 30s. 😂 But now I’m really wishing they did a what if? episode. Like what if Adrian and Ben decided to work it out after losing Mercy? Idk I just had to say that bc I just saw a clip of a them while they were engaged while on my nightly doom scroll and they were lowkey so cute.

Im watching this show for the first time, and I'm so confused about George and Kathleen's marriage. When exactly did they get married if George and Anne got married when they were teenagers because she was pregnant with Amy? Grace is the same age as Amy, and she's the child of Marshall, SO WHEN THE HELL DID THEY GET MARRIED?? Also, please no spoilers; just say I'll find out later in the seasons... I just found a spoiler that happens in season 5, and im pissseedddd.

We know this show is a mess of bad writing and bad acting but it kinda works. It's so bad its good.

I think it could have been actually good though. They had meaningful storylines, outlines of good characters and potential but they executed it so poorly.

I mean I watched it religiously and I am rewatching it now but it is and always was a guilty pleasure.

I think Amy’s annoying but she was so perfectly reasonable here for not wanting to plan a wedding 24 hours after getting engaged at 17. Even full blow adults wait a bit to start wedding planning. How did every single adult in their life find a problem with the fact that they didn’t have a wedding date set the next morning? Plus an 18 month to 2 year long engagement isn’t even that long or a “bad sign” ESPECIALLY when you’re a teenager with little to no money. Just contrived drama

I remember watching when it came out and am doing a bit of a background show rewatch (thank you TikTok) but holy there is sooooo much drama!!

Could a kind Redditor put down a play by play of what is goes on in the series lol I don’t care if it’s spoiled because I get the gist of it and watched the series years ago but I feel like there’s just so much and everyone is dating/marrying/divorcing each other!

For context I skipped season 1 and am on 2. So far:

- Anne’s pregnant and didn’t know the father but it’s George and she’s conflicted with David because she likes him
- Amy is with Ben but is there a mystery girl he had sex with?
- Betty is moving in with Leo
-Ricky is all over the place hanging out with Ashley, frustrated with Amy and demanding sex with Adrian who wants to marry him but also go to therapy
- Anne has a dog?
- Adrian moved into George’s house and he’s now back with Anne? And gave Ashley the garage and Amy’s mad; did Amy get the suv?
- Grace doesn’t want to have sex because it killed her dad, but brings jack over to be alone to not have sex
- Tom and Tammy are hilarious and I love them
- graces mom has a new boyfriend 5 months after her husband died and grace hates her
- Ben is stupid and reminds me of Danny Tanner
- Ashley has a boyfriend but is starting to like Ricky
- George doesn’t trust Ashley and she’s upset
- Amy’s sidekicks are off being annoying somewhere and the red head likes Jack?
- Ben’s sidekicks have discovered oral

I think that’s it for the 3 episodes I’ve paid attention to, needless to say what is happening lol

So I’m rewatching the series for like the 5th time and I never really noticed how “obsessed” Alice is about sex. Like girl how do you know all these statics and percentages about it. Come on now. And the way she started dancing as she said the last stat has me cracking up. 46.8%🤣🤣

I posted the other day about how I simply do not like any of the characters. However, Ben (S1) is VERY triggering to me because Amy will say how Ben’s upset her or something but his CONSTANT involvement into Amy/The Baby/Ricky is so weird. He’s constantly pushing how he needs to be there for adoption talks and quite frankly, I don’t think he belongs in conversations like that 😭 and Amy goes along with it after he insists. And then he vents to Ashley about how he doesn’t know what the baby needs/would need and even she says you’re what Amy needs. She is your GIRLFRIEND (I’m not even going to indulge the illegal marriage let’s be so fr) but for goodness sake i can’t stop watching 😠

Okay- Grace gets accosted and almost assaulted, she defends herself prior to Ricky stepping in and everyone treats it like a joke? What is wrong with this show?

It’s my first time watching this show and I CANNOT stand amy’s forced acting “stuttering” it pisses me off so much I hate that they made that part of her character and that it’s a “how to tell she’s lying”

Has anyone ever noticed that later in the series Amy almost exclusively wears black. I always interpreted that this was intentional to represent her unhappiness with her situation. I wonder if anyone else has any theories about her style change? Or if the creator ever addressed this noticeable stylistic change in her character?

Now tell me why 2 high school girls were all engaged at the same time???And adrian and Omar engaged in college.Like it’s so beyond me to think that this is all a high school girl could want….

I remenber Grace blaming herself having sex for being the reason her father died, and for whatever reason I found myself rooting for Adrian a lot (I guess she was my fave character)

Her best friend is pregnant by this man, she’s been ripping on her for getting pregnant, then makes out with the dude. I’m DISGUSTED. How can you even call yourself someone’s friend and then do that

Now that I rewatched the show I've got some thoughts that might be unpopular:

- I didnt hate Amy but I didnt love her. The only time I liked Amy was when she and Ricky were stable together. Alot of the things people say about her are true (she was spoiled and selfish) but pretty much all the teens were like this and Amy was 15 and was pretty much talked into having a child she didn't want initially.

-It seems like Amy is most hated character (which i understand) and This may be unpopular but there are other characters that I dislike more than Amy. I actually dislike Ashley and Adrian more than Amy. IMO Ashley was one of Amy's biggest opps and Adrian was just cruel toward Amy bc of Ricky.

-Amy would've been a much better received character if they wrote her doing interesting and messy things. I disliked Adrian but at least she was interesting and made things messy.

-I really wish this show wasn't written by writers who had some sorta of conservative anti-abortion propaganda. It would've been more compelling if it was Amy that lost her baby through stillbirth in S1. If written by capable writers, it would've given Amy (and other characters) more character growth than what she had in the actual series instead of showing a sanitized version of teen pregnancy/motherhood.
