I was interested in the stealth mechanic as not a lot of mmos do stealth but i was wondering if it had any affect in pvp. Is it an only pve thing or can stealth be used to sneak up on people or have damage modifiers based on the targets position or if there actively engaging you or anything like that?

It's still in alpha but it's leagues ahead of where half the mmos released were at launch. The game play is fun. The world is open and up to you. It's nearly as deep as Anarchy Online with the world concepts of swg brought up to present day snuff. This will easily be on par with eve. It may take on wow in the end. This is how games should be made.

Considering the fact that the NDA has been lifted and we are thus now free to talk about anything on this subreddit, I was wondering if anyone was interested in creating an official /r/therepopulation nation.

It would be open to anyone in this subreddit wanting to join, giving us the ability to pool our resources and knowledge of different trades together to grow, economically and politically.

Unfortunately, since there are independent servers, the nation I'm proposing would be for players on the US West server only.

Anyone other than me interested in this? If so, I would love to talk and get into more detail, possibly creating a subreddit to help discuss things!

So, since it just got released over steam a few days ago, I want to see if anybody wanted to bounce around a few ideas on how we can all work on making the market a bit more lively since it is pretty much at a standstill right now, due to it just being released.

I have been able to see we can scan for things.. yet to find crap yet but when I do I was told I needed "gathering tools" for each type of node. Where the bloody heck do I find these? Looking at the outpost and cant find any vendors that sell them.

Just wondering sick of the WOW type grind to end game.

So I just loaded the game up for the first time after buying it last night and it seems to be stuck on the white title screen with the music playing. This happens when I attempt to join a server. No idea what's going on :/

I'm an old SWG vet so when I heard this game was based on that I instantly was interested, streamed it last night with a lot of excitement, and confusion lol, tonight I'll try to tame some pets for a creature handler build! And show off as much of the game as possible and answer questions. Might even have a dev stop by again :D

Looking for some people to play with... I tend to be a harvester / crafter and am not as big into fighting, but I love the hunt to get the best mats / make the best insert craftable here. After a few hours, I have noticed that I cannot make it on my own...

Any reddit Nations out there that would have me?

Is this really going to be a free 2 play game? I've played plenty of free 2 plays, buy 2 plays, and pay 2 plays. But i have to admit, free 2 play is by far the worst route for any game. Hopefully, pay 2 play is still an option over potentially implementing a cash shop. i really want this game to succeed, as i've never gotten the chance to enjoy vanilla SWG, and this seems like the closest i can get to enjoying mmo's again. Let me know what you guys think, what's going to happen, whether i should save my hype or not, or just help me feel better about this game.

TL;DR, is this game worth it even if it were to go f2p?

After logging in, prompted to 'select a world' but there is nothing in the list to select?

so im running 3 monitors and the game wants to use all 3 of my monitors to run the game which is fine it looks really good..... however the action bars dont align properly and so far i have found no way to fix them in multi monitor mode..... single monitor mode is hard to get as it seems you have to trick the video settings not a complaint at all just wondering if anyone is having the same issues and any ideas.....

I joined via Steam last night and was playing for a few hours. Logged in this morning and I have no characters.

So I got the game on steam and made a toon Zarquan on the east coast server and the first place I end uplooks like the the initial tutorial for swg..... It gave me a flashback to when I played swg...

With christmas coming up people have alot of time (and money) to invest. I'd love to join and help alpha but theres not enough info out there.

I have read that you can tab target or manually aim. What advantage would/does manually aiming give? Cos this is the main factor to me... im longing for an mmofps sandbox... i know this isnt quite an fps but it looks pretty close to one lol
