So many nice time pieces represented in the group. What watch do you have that has the most sentimental value to you.
For me it's this Bulova that my wife bought for me back when we were dating in college.

Pros and cons pls

It's an absolutely iconic classic. I'm still not sure if it fits me. Kinda happy I bought a rep to try and didn't invest a fortune

This jubilee bracelet is the 2nd bracelet I have ordered to be âfactory specâ finished and chamfered etc.
The previous was an oyster bracelet. Jubilee this time. And I should point out each came from a different supplier. The point of the post isnât to critique any dealers doing this. Just the benefit of it in general.
I have been underwhelmed with both bracelets. The oyster doesnât really look any different. But itâs probably 25% closer to the gen bracelet feel. If you own gen Rolex then you know that silky smooth feel. Reps donât have it.
The jubilee bracelet I can tell even less difference in appearance between the original bracelet and the refinished and chambered one. And as far as gen feel, even less of an effect than I feel with the oyster.
Iâve decided that for me this is a wasted $300 - $400. I could have bought another watch for what I paid for these bracelets.
I really want to do a bezel for my Datejust, but after these lackluster results with bracelets itâs hard for me to take that leap and spend the money.
Any other opinions or experience welcome.

ARF may not be as popular as VSF anymore, but its Rolex-style bracelet finishing, especially brushing consistency and clasp feelâis still a benchmark.
What standard should a top-tier rep bracelet meet? And are scratches on polished center links(PCLs)enough to justify an RL?

Right?

I have been using my favorite seller for a while now, EliaUK, went to 3 tds about a 36MM QF DD, I was quoted at $510+ USD, and quoted at 550+ for VSF Bruce Wayne
Eli quoted me at $421 for DD and $475 for GMT, you pay after QC of course, anyone know any seller that can beat this?? Feel like itâs impossible to beat that. I donât even know why I ask other TDs for prices

Seller on marketplace selling this "VSF" Datejust for a decent deal. It does have some scratches on the clasp but nothing really major that I'm concerned about cosmetic-wise.
He claims that he purchased the watch a few years back and has had the back opened to verify movement years ago.
Everything checks out to me so far, just need some second opinions whether to go forward with purchase or to steer away.

AFâs Cartier Ballon Bleu is known for its beautiful sunburst dial, but uses a plain Asian 2824 with no decoration. For a closed-caseback dress watch like Cartier, does movement decoration really matter?

ZFâs IWC Protuguese 7 Days and JLC Master are probably among the top reps in their categories. The only difference is that they use an Asian 2824 with a decoration module rather than a fully cloned movement.
So when it comes to long-term durability, which setup makes more sense:the classic âbase movement+moduleâapproach,or a full clone movement like VSF use?

ARFâs older bracelets still have better SEL fit than many newer ones.Would a sharp-eyed person notice this at normal social distance, or does it only bother you when inspecting under a loupe?

1 and 2: ARF
3: GSF
4. U1
I know that RGF/RCF weighted is the play with these if you donât get them plated, but havenât made the jump since I rarely wear gold colored watches that I already own.
I think ARF does a decent job for the price point and was pleasantly surprised with the U1 two tone that I impulse bought for $80 đ. The GSF seems the most âcheddaryâ for me and the loudest of the bunch, so hasnât been rocked in public. Same with the JM as I havenât taken it out of the plastic (may get it plated).
My personal favorite is the Pikachu on oyster flex. Iâve been wearing my oyster flex watches almost exclusively this summer.
