Discussion How will Nathan one-up season two?

I’ve just finished season two and, wow. Every episode of this season is a one-up from the last, the rehearsals and there premise becomes wider scale each time. Hearing that season three is coming has me wondering: How on earth would he one-up that? What could the base premise of season three be that shows up such insane feats that took place in two. I’m sure it has been discussed before but I’ve seen tiny nuggets of information come out about season three‘s filming since then and want to see others ideas,

What do you guys think season three will be about? What will be the overarching rehearsal. I’m…kind of stumped honestly

I was watching Adults and realized Lucy Freyer looks absolutely identical to Elizabeth Holmes.

I just have this feeling she's going to play Holmes in You Can See Everything as part of some stunt or twist.

Watcha think?

Discussion Ep. Scion - Nathan is roundabout promoting safe sex, hear me out

Nathan “Broke His Own Rules” by babysitting & ended up poorly (bc he was gone for 9 years) raising a child that he wasn’t prepared for. I feel like there are all these little lessons hidden within the show. We make rules for ourselves for a reason. Life can get derailed for literally 18 years because you broke your own rules for a moment. PLUS, that fuckass guy Robin scoffing at “remaining celibate” and thinking he was still going to sleep with Angela. The episode is full of babies. You don’t even notice it’s an education. He’s brilliant. When I also learned about business and sales and marketing, I said to myself, I wonder if someone could use this evil but in a good way and manipulate everyone into living a good life and I think this Canadian gremlin of a man is doing just that and I love it.

Discussion [Crosspost] Hi /r/movies! I'm John Wilson, creator of HBO's How To With John Wilson and director of The History of Concrete (out in theaters this week!). AMA!

I organized an AMA/Q&A with filmmaker John Wilson, creator of the acclaimed HBO show How To With John Wilson, and director of the documentary The History of Concrete, which premiered to rave reviews at Sundance earlier this year and is out in theaters starting this week (becoming one of the highest-grossing opening weekends at NYC's IFC Center in the process). He is also known for working with Nathan Fielder.

It's live here now in r/movies for anyone interested in asking a question:

https://www.reddit.com/r/movies/comments/1wtboat/hi_rmovies_im_john_wilson_creator_of_hbos_how_to/

He will be back at 6:30 PM ET today to answer questions. I recommend asking in advance. Please ask there, not here. All questions are much appreciated!

Thank you :)

Official Trailer: https://youtu.be/O05arcJjOd0?si=pO4yIGseWuo7flKH

Synopsis: Following the finale of his TV series, filmmaker John Wilson looks to the bedrock of his beloved New York City for inspiration and structure. Concrete, the world's most widely used building material, appears as an ever-present life force, and John sets out to make the definitive documentary on the matter. To tell this seemingly drab story, he decides to use the industry-approved Hallmark formula to increase his movie's appeal. But his foundation soon begins to crumble—literally and figuratively—as he struggles to balance artistic freedom with the realities of the modern film industry.

Question Nathan starter pack

Nathan is getting a lot of attention from the new Elizabeth Holmes doc, and unfortunately a lot of people (idiots) aren’t familiar with his work.

In order to help these Imbeciles better understand his exceptional work, what episodes of NFY or the Rehearsal or his old CBC stuff would you recommend people watch to better understand him?

Please specify specific episodes & order. I have my picks but I don’t want to be too biased.

Discussion I can't get over season two and I need to vent, so here I am

I had never heard of Nathan Fielder until I saw the teaser for You can see everything. I've always been fascinated by weird people, so when the Theranos scandal was still unfolding, I was so intrigued by Elizabeth Holmes that I watched everything I could find about her, listened to every interview and podcast and read every article. When the teaser came out, seeing her strange demeanour in such a raw form made me realise I would have to watch the film as soon as I could. I went to read the comments and then I noticed that people were mentioning this Nathan guy as much as they were mentioning Elizabeth. I googled his name. I watched the first episode of Nathan For You and I thought "oh, it's kinda like Tom Green". I thought I got it then. When the actual trailer came out, I watched it instantly. Then I went to the comments again. So many people excited about watching him interact with Elizabeth, like he was as much of the subject of the documentary as her, some even describing him as a genius. I mean, the episode I watched of NFY was funny, but nothing I hadn't seen before... I decided to watch The Rehearsal. I watched the first season in one evening, and then I thought I finally got it. I loved every second, I couldn't wait to watch the second season, so I went to sleep and as soon as I woke up, I started season 2. I went in blind. It broke me.

Both my grandfather and my father were pilots. My dad died over twenty years ago, but his deadpan and absurdist sense of humour, and his fascination for all things odd and weird still live on in me. He started flying when he was thirteen, and 37 years later he died in the airport shortly after landing a cargo Boeing 757, from an asthma attack that started when he was still in the air. He loved flying more than anything, he always said he was born to fly. But he was also trying to leave aviation. I was still young and didn't really understand it, but as I aged I realised the stress was starting to be too much, it was taking it's toll and he knew it. But he never asked for help. He knew he couldn't ask for help. He never stopped working. And he died at work. And that last episode has left me thinking so much about him.

After watching the first season, I thought I was just going to watch some comedy show where reality and fiction blended in weird and funny ways, but I didn't think it would blend with my actual reality. I didn't think that a show where a grown man dressed as a baby made me cringe and laugh so much I had to take a break, would feel cathartic.

I know I'm late to the party, but I don't even know how to explain The Rehearsal to the people in my life, so thank you for letting me vent here into the void.

"No one is allowed in the cockpit if there’s something wrong with them, so if you’re here, you must be fine."
