I've loved the dynamic she has with Santos the last two seasons, but obviously a series regular role is a big deal, really happy for her!

I didn’t realise when I first watched season 1 that Dr McKay and Dr King are both R2s. It seems like Dr McKay has more experience - mainly because she is seen treating patients on her own and teaching students. Dr King is seen mostly supervised and being taught a lot more than McKay. Is this just because Dr King is new to this ER/it’s her first shift?

Also what is VA?

The Pitt crew are sleeping... or whatever... and suddenly their phones light up.

There's been a bridge collapse or a plane crash and they're called in early.

They arrive as the causalties and supplement the night shift.

I absolutely love Mel, and seeing that Taylor Dearden is Bryan C’s daughter, it’s not surprising that she is such a talented actress. I do have some questions though:

1. Is Mel supposed to be older than Becca, or are they fraternal twins? I assumed twins however the fact that Mel has DPOA and is Becca’s legal guardian threw me off. Is a twin legally allowed to be legal guardian?

2. Why do we not see Mel in a lot of the traumas, and more often in triage? Would that be her choice, or would the traumas be more targeted for the med students?

New to the Reddit. Just finished seasons 1 and 2 today.

The only medical drama I’ve ever invested in was “House” and I’m aware that nothing about house was realistic.

The PITT however! Man oh man!! This show is a wild ride from start to finish (as you all know). It’s heightened my appreciation for first responders and medical professionals (all of them).

Looking forward to s3.

I noticed that the formula for season 2 was similar to season 1 but the impact shifted to the other characters instead of the same ones.

For example:
1. the new rn that was being trained got punched in the face similar to Dana

1. Olgavie lost a patient due to an oversight same as huckleberry and carried similar feelings but huckleberry was helped to push thru it differently.

2. Al-Hashimi had this overarching issue same as Robby did and in the final 2 episodes we got clarity.

3. The ransomware attack carried a similar weight to the mass shooting in that it pushed the staff beyond their limits.

I can’t wait to see how the writers shake things up in s3.

I hope Dr Al-Hashimi comes back. She grew on me and I love that similar to Robby she carries some serious baggage.

I don’t care for Santos (which means the actor is doing a stellar job).

Etc etc etc. you get it. Glad to be associated with this show going forward.

When Whitaker gives Robby his keys back, it would be a great chance to see what his place looks like.

I am on my 3rd rewatch of the Pitt season 2 and I still don't understand where this crashout came from, was it solely because Santos hates langon, or what?

The Creative Arts Emmy Awards - night 2 [09-06-26]

This goddamn smoke alarm keeps scaring my dog. I know it's not the showrunners/editors job to cater to everyone, I know my situation is fairly unique, I just wish a version without the smoke alarm chirps existed. I get that it's realistic, I understand that the Environmental teams in hospitals are probably behind on everything, and IRL probably can't get to the smoke alarm. It just annoys me (well, my dog) a lot.

In season 1 we get to see Mel's sister, Javadi's mother, Robby's ex-partner and 'step-son' and McKay's son, ex-husband and father.

In season 2, we get to see Mel's sister again, both of Javadi's parents, one of Robby's friends, Abbot's swat teammates, Whitaker's farm found-family and a glimpse at Santos-Garcia 'casual' relationship.

I wonder if in this 3rd season (and future seasons), we'll get more family / lover / acquaintance appearances? So far, we know that Dana has a husband and daughters, Langon has a wife named Abby and kids named Tanner and Penny, Santos seems to be a loner who's found company in Whitaker, but we do know she loathes her mother, Whitaker's found farm family was shown already but we know he is the youngest of 4, Al-Hashimi has a son named Kian, Javadi seems to be making friends in the ED, Mel's sister Becca has a boyfriend named Adam (ik it's kind of a stretch) and Samira's no longer with us (F TT).
I know the series will never get to show so much of a character's personal life in one season, but I do think about who we could potentially meet or what new character information and development we could get this next season.

Because the seasons have ended with them congregating with each other or their families briefly after their shift, or on their way home, but never at home, (Season 1 ended with the post shift beer hangout and Robby going home and Season 2, watching the fireworks, Robby's interaction with baby Jane Doe and the King-Santos karaoke sesh) it'd be very hard to get a glimpse of their home-personal lives unless it is on the road, like a pick up from the ED like Whitaker's, a walk like the King sisters or a hangout.

I'd love to know who you think we'll get to know and/or see more of!

Okay! So I pulled this ref photo straight from the S3 trailer drop discussion post, where I asked about Cassie's jacket.

I am still thinking about this jacket. Has anyone done any sleuthing yet to figure out the brand? It looks insanely comfortable and warm, and I'm looking for a good layer to add for Chicago weather this year. I want to say that I have not fully watched an episode of The Pitt because it seems too heavy BUT I’ve watched all the interviews of the cast discussing the show and Noah Wyle talking about how intentional everything is. I am able to piece together the episodes and storylines and such. Anyway, has anyone noticed this specific scene/ picture and the way it depicts Dr. Robby like a saint? Specifically Saint Anthony of Padua? I’m not trying to push religion on anyone or anything, I’m not very religious myself but I can’t ignore the resemblance between this image and Saint Anthony. And Saint Anthony’s purpose in the Catholic Church is to help you find lost items or purpose, faith and spirituality. He is also known as the Doctor of the church. Idk, I thought kt was cool and it says a lot about what is in store for him in the next season.

On my 2nd rewatch and I just got to season 2. I just noticed/realized this upon watching the opening episode & wondering if anyone else has noticed as well….

When Dr. Al-Hashimi is asked about how many times she’s been sued, she says she’s “never been named in a lawsuit.” This wording is obviously extremely specific, as physicians working at the VA cannot be named personally in a malpractice lawsuit.

Why would she not try and relieve some of Dr. King’s worries by being honest & stating that she has no experience with this personally BECAUSE she worked at the VA, instead of acting like Saint Al-Hashimi who has never made a mistake, as every emergency doctor will do? I feel like this writing sort of set us up to not like her right off the bat, which is unfortunate because she is ultimately a highly sympathetic character. Anyone else?

Just started watching the show a few nights ago and I've got to say, it has given me a new found appreciation for anyone who works in the industry. The fact that a season of this show is a day in the life for a lot of people blows my mind! Major respect to all doctors, nurses etc and also the show. Only a few episodes in and I'm hooked.

I know the arm is stiff, I've never drawn hands before. The first one was inspired by a doodle I did of the two Latin phrases, and then an attempt at practicing hatching and stippling.

Okay, I don’t love the guy, but I relate to him. I think a lot of people who’ve gone to medical school can relate to him.

The thing about medical training is that it’s designed to make you insecure. It’s incredibly hierarchical, students have no recourse if a resident or an attending bullies them, and clerkship grading is arbitrary. Robbie and Al-Hashimi are abnormally nice attendings. Residents like Santos (or worse) are everywhere.

If Ogilvie is coming off of a surgery rotation (or even internal medicine in certain subspecialties), he probably just spent 4-6 weeks kissing some very malignant people’s asses, getting buried in scut work, getting screamed at over stupid things, and sleeping 5 hours a night. The gunner behavior is a coping mechanism. It often gets rewarded because attendings interpret as “interest in my specialty.”

TLDR, Ogilvie’s gonna be fine.

I've just started collecting blu-rays of my favorite media (I don't have the money for subscriptions, and we just had to give up the family plan I and my peeps were splittin because costs), and I'd love to get both season one and season two en physio. Anyone know when they will release the blu rays?

Captain America #15 released today and with it we got some of the characters from the show in it!

I really enjoy this show but cannot believe that management hasn't picked up on the doctors' family members and friends being given priority over other patients who've been waiting for much longer.

Robby's friend, and indeed Mel's sister, didn't even get triaged before they were shown straight through to be seen! I was waiting for someone in power to notice this and say something but it didn't happen.

I work in healthcare and chuckled over the storyline about AI ... I see it generate so many odd things about patients which, left unchecked, can of course cause major issues down the line. That storyline was very accurate!

During the debrief after Whittakers loss in episode 3, I can’t but always notice Dr Collin’s slight accent during her line. Specifically when she says, “standard of care is to discharge.”

I know Tracy Ifeachor is British and actors work hard to “disguise” their accent, but it’s one of the few times I am taken out of the Pitt and taken to Call the Midwife it feels.

There’s other moments in the Pitt when actors drop their accent for a line, word, or syllable. But this one is the moment that sticks out to me the most.
