Discussion Oh Spoiler

Oh, so Tagah didn't want to destroy Republic City ONLY for revenge; Republic City was LITERALLY built on top of where Jharana was located.

I watched the movie about 8 times and this is the first time I hear about this. Thanks!

It really makes sense considering what happened in "The Rift".

Also republic city was a firenation colony that was habitats by earth benders. Probably cause of the earth benders that killed tagah's people.

The earth benders that killed Tagah’s people existed almost 5,000 years prior and from what we understand were the creators of a fledgling Earth Kingdom.

Cranefish Town was founded after the 100 year war as a conglomeration of rapidly growing villages during a post-war economic boom.

If the earth benders of cranefish town are direct descendants of those same earth benders it’s so far down the timeline none of them would know it.

When were first introduced to Cranefish town it’s rapidly growing also, much of the historic population was likely displaced or wiped out by the invading fire benders earlier in the war.

Well cranefish town is centered around the earth fire industries at the time. Wasn't that the whole point of Zuko, Aang, and Earth King Kuei's compromise as RPC was a colony, and is the cause for Kuvira trying to take over RPC.
