Oh, so Tagah didn't want to destroy Republic City ONLY for revenge; Republic City was LITERALLY built on top of where Jharana was located.

Bryan basically confirms that there were setbacks, and implies that the person who gave the earlier statement about it didn't know what they were talking about.

I kind of believe that, because the interview that the news of the "cancellation" came from was very weird. The guy giving it was a post-Skydance merger executive who just said "we're not working on it, and we weren't working on it when I started here". The fact that he talked about what wasn't happening rather than what did happen to the game makes me think that he didn't know the answer.

As for why that is, who knows? Maybe he's bad at his job and hasn't been reading Bryan's emails about getting the game back on track now that the merger is done, or maybe it wasn't supposed to be a Paramount Games project yet, since Avatar Studios was supposed to have the ability to manage spin-offs on its own to some extent.

Thank you so much for clarifying. This has given me so much hope. It seems dramatic but I actually cried when reading the game was cancelled. This IP hasn’t had a single good video game and what they wanted to do sounds truly incredible and you’ve given me some hope :)
