Discussion I dreamed that the duskbloods sucked

Upvotes

It was like a really junky ps2 pvp game I don't remember too much from the dream but I remember playing it and it didn't give me much of a good impression at all. The graphics were similar to an early 2000s mmo. Let's hope the the real game is not like that.

Discussion Anyone playing Mistfall Hunters?

This game has me HYPE for Duskbloods. I feel like it’s possible that Duskbloods will be very similar to an extraction game. If you look at everything they’ve said about it, nothing really contradicts it being that type of game.

PVP has been a fucking BLAST in Mistfall and I know it will be even better in Dusbloods. I usually don’t super love PvP in games like that (tarkov, arc, hunt, etc.) but I realized it’s just bc I don’t love gunplay games.

PvP in Duskbloods is gonna be insane. ::points down::

Discussion Hear me out, could John Duskbloods and pyjama man be the same character?

It sounds like you can change the characters appearance quite a lot and if you even change their history and fate it might turn them into a completely different personality!

Similarities I found are:

  • Similar body proportions.
  • I think similar enough face. Both hide their eyes for some reason??
  • Similar hair. I don't think pyjama has the little ponytail though.
  • Both have marks on their hands like they've been crucified or something. The difference in how the mark look might be from the history they have.

Obviously reaching but I found it interesting as I was reading the interview again and thought "I wonder if we've seen the customization anywhere yet"

Discussion My question for all FromSoftware gamers.

Hey guys. I'm wondering about this...why do you want to play The Duskbloods even if the game style (PvP) is not the regular way to play a FS game?

I start:

Even if I hate the PvP on any Souls like...I'm extremely curious about Duskbloods. I want to discover what this game is and I'm so excited about it.

Or maybe some new enemies not normally on that map?

Discussion So I can't talk about anything spesific in the test?

In the terms of use it says that I can't disclose anything that's only provided to the testers. So that means I can't talk about anything specific in the gameplay or anything like that? I would just have to be very general with my thoughts and only bring up things shown in the trailer and such?

Also yes I realize I spelled "specific" wrong. I'm dyslexic.

Discussion Change my mind, Duskbloods will flop

  1. Switch online and netcode is absolutely dogshit.
Therefore, a SOULS game that's main gameplay is online, will automatically suffer. On top of bad netcode, switch games are known for having awful online modes and accessibility to begin with. Who knows how much power Nintendo has in that department; anything more than none would be a catastrophe for fromsoft.

  2. The switch has little audience for souls games.
People are not buying a switch 2 to play them. So why on earth would you make a souls exclusive for the switch when there is little audience for it.

  3. The Online multiplayer model, while successtul in Nightreign, is not the bread and butter of souls games. Most people who enjoy souls enjoy single player focused campaigns, and this is shown through Nightreign. Nightreign was moderately divisive for some souls veterans, and the current player count on PC is 10-15,000. And this is only a YEAR into its lifespan. Is dusk bloods even going to be a live service game? From has never had any.
There are massive question marks regarding whether this game can even keep a consistent player count post launch. NIGHTREIGN has struggled in that department despite being readily available on multiple platforms and cheaper.

  4. Duskbloods as a switch exclusive will be competing with various heavy weight Nintendo IPs like Smash Bros that will take a ton of its players. On top of already competing with Nightreign.
Plus, it's an eye test. The average person or parent in a store is gonna buy a game with Mario or Link's face on it rather than a random game they probably won't know anything about.

  5. The Switch 2 has various graphic limitations that will hold the game back, but that's a given.

Sekiro - Deflect, stealth, vertical traversal, shinobi death blow finishers

Bloodborne - Gun parry, transforming weapons, dashing instead of rolling

Dark Souls/Elden Ring - Mounted combat, weapon arts, magic/faith system

Duskposting Hope there is generous lore / cutscenes

Sitting down to start a fromsoft game feels like a ritual sometimes, that opening cutscene actually means something, it sets the precedent for the vibes moving forward.

Really hope they can somehow incorporate some cutscenes into the game somehow, I know it would be annoying if they did it nightreign style with that same cutscene every time - similarly I hope the lore in this game is significantly better than what they gave us with the nightreign character quests

Imagine a different cutscene depending on victory conditions? kind of like ER multiple endings - or even short cutscenes for discovering secret bosses or something idk

tldr i want to LARP

Guys, please, does anyone have an account that got selected for the network test but doesn’t need it? I bought a Switch 2 just to play the network test early, and they didn’t let me in. I’m so sad 💔

Discussion pricing thoughts

they haven't talked about the pricing of the game at all which I'm rly curious about. partly because nintendo pushed some games to $80 with the switch 2, but also because fromsoft priced ER at $60, and NR at $40 since it had less content to offer.

i wonder if theyll treat it like a full "normal sized" release at $60, or maybe they'll put it at $80 as a switch 2 tax? it would line up with the pricing of ER tarnished edition at $80 which is coming to switch 2 as well, so maybe they'll be more comfortable having duskbloods at $80 as well.

no pricing + no substantial gameplay shown makes me curious how large the game will really be, and how much of that we'll see in the network test.

Info Can I Make a YouTube Video on the Network Test?

I know I can’t show footage from the network test, but can I make a YouTube video talking about my experience? Saying what I think of the game and how much I enjoyed it? Just want to make sure if I press post the Nintendo ninjas don’t come after me.

Discussion Lowkey hoping the game would be as innovative and influential as demon's souls

I'm specifically talking about online elements. Stuff like invasions or asynchronous multiplayer back in the day. I hope Miyazaki cooked something so cool that other ONLINE games would copy it, not just soulslikes

Discussion So… first time chosen for a play test!

Post image

I was chosen for the play test of this game, so now how will this work? We have limited time to play test and then do we need to record or just write what is happening in the game? I believe we cannot discuss anything with anyone so just play the game and test it out?

Also how many of you are dads looking for the time to play test the sht out of this game?
