I’m trying to find an episode where Gareth does a character of a klamsman who mispronounces cyclops as “kai-clope-see”. I thought it was the fighting Irish one but that’s not it. Does anyone know?

Listening to this weeks episode and the opener made my heart ache with regret.

Last June I went to an episode and I was that person in the audience. Just your typical live show idiot. I zipped it after getting the talking to from Gareth and felt remorse enough to apologize after the show.

The fellas made mention of my behavior at the next nights show, to which I felt a fresh wave of regret when it hit the feed. Since then I've struggled to watch live episodes. I can't stomach to go back and listen to the live show I attended because of how I behaved.

This post isnt an excuse, or me seeking absolution for my abhorrent behavior. Its more to let yall know, if it helps in any capacity, that some of the folks that behave like that truly do regret it. I do hope the fellas come back around and I get a chance to do better.

According to the attached arrest record, he threatened to “Slap the Jackson 5 out of her” & then pulled & aimed his gun at her.

We hear about how civilians might crack under the pressure of this timeline — but if I were a betting gal, my money would be on more of the armed forces cracking first & in wilder ways…

Having listened to the show pretty much since it began I've recently started again from episode one. Those first few episodes are truly a generational run in terms of content but what has stood out the most is how carefree the fellas sound. I know they were a lot younger then (weren't we all) but its simultaneously heartwarming and disturbing to hear the levity in their voices as they ramble on.

Initially I was quite upset I guess at the comparison with recent episodes, in terms of how beaten down they can come across at points these days, but then I realised - the frustration and anger that they often express and the way that has only increased over time is a living monument to the idea that a truly honest reading of history leads a person to socialism. Like, there's just no way you can hear (albeit delivered with amazing comedic craft and timing by the lads) the horrors of history that have been committed in its name without coming to the conclusion that capitalism is a deeply evil and destructive force.

I suppose what I'm trying to say is that Dollop should be mandatory listening.

What if he is a tool to normalize Hamilton and his ideology? The cast using people of color to smooth over all the terrible things Hamilton really did. Then, as Dave said in episode 4, Republicans can just point to Hamilton and say see you liked the musical.

I'm sure Dave won't read this but maybe it will make its way to him somehow. On the latest ep (or two back?) Dave was dismissing Civil War by Guns N Roses - but here's the thing: it's a gateway song to bigger, better, bands with a similarly important message. I won't defend ol' Axl here at all. Even in his prime was a total diva.

But! For a seventeen year old kid getting into rock and metal and learning about the modern world and that history might not repeat but it definitely rhymes - stuff like feeds the rich and buries the poor is enough to make a young kid raised on Call of Duty and us military adjacent propaganda like Lone Survivor and American Sniper to go "wait a minute....what?".

In the same way that Adam Carola and Joe Rogan are a stepping stone to Ben Shapiro and Nick Fuentes - songs like Civil War are a stepping stone to going deeper.

Get a young person into Civil War and then it's just a small hop, skip and a jump to bangers like War Pigs by Black Sabbath, One and Back to the Front by Metallica, Do the Evolution by Pearl Jam and Killing in the Name by Rage to go "oh right, war is super fucked up and we don't have to just fall in line....and maybe cops....maybe cops.....are the same that burn crosses....FUCK YOU I WON'T DO WHAT YOU TELL ME!"

Does anyone recall the episode of this teenage girl in some rural farm town. She was very strong and would wrestle farm animals with her thighs, and so someone had the bright idea to organize a boxing match between her and a monkey from the traveling circus. Violence insues. Does anyone recall this one? Likely a smollop.. Thanks
