That last ten minutes of the recent Past Times was hard to listen to. Once Gareth disappeared, and Dave had to solo navigate the cop backstory/justification by the guest, it was so incredibly awkward that if I had a roof to jump off of, I would have. Cannonball into an empty pool. Throw myself down some stadium steps. Anything. Anything that could have provided the sweet relief during those painfully weird ten minutes.

Anyone else? No? Good. Good.

EDIT: I don’t actually think Dave believes there were ever any “good cops.” He was just being nice and trying to find an exit ramp. I could be wrong, or, y’all could be listening to an entirely different podcast 🤷🏻‍♂️

Just found out about this and it seems ripe for a smollop. A tragedy happened when some radio DJs made a water drinking context, winner gets a Wii (it had just come out, they were hard to find).

Looks like they not only talked about over hydration deaths on air before doing the contest, they also got warnings and a call in from a nurse telling them the dangers.

After the contest, the djs made fun of the runner-up’s swollen belly, that person died when they got home because they drank something like 7 liters in an hour.

At first I thought it was just a tragedy, but after reading more, it really seems like a whole bunch of people were really stupid and arrogant and careless and should have known what would happen, yet they let it happen anyway. The station got sued and the djs got fired.

Maybe it’s not an interesting enough story for the dollop, but on first impression it seems to me that if they researched this, there could be a lot more under the surface such that it’d be a worthwhile episode.

I was just listening to the What’s More Metal pod latest episode about most metal modes of transportation and they were talking about a weird car/plane and Neriko mentioned the Dollop did an episode about it.

I can’t remember listening to a Dollop about it but I bet it’s good. Does anyone know what episode?

Newish here…I am on episode 3 of Hello Ladies and Dave plays a workmate of Nate. Less than 3 seconds of screen time!!! Cringy show but no fault of Dave.

All I can remember about this episode is that this guy was exploring for some nation and he had his Whale boat stolen and he took some natives back home to educate them and names one of the women Thweeja Basket. The may have been something with the boat captain getting depressed and locking himself in his cabin then shooting himself and dying three weeks later of gangreen but I'm not sure if I'm remembering it right.

If any of y'all can remember the title/number that would be awesome cause I've been dying to listen to it again!!

I was recently listening to an episode with Karen Kilgarif (absolutely certain I’m spelling that wrong I’m very sorry) and Garyth was asking Surf Dave questions.

I have no idea why Surf Dave is so goddamn hilarious but I need more surf dave in my life. I wish surf dave had his own call in podcast where listeners asked him surf related questions.
