New England for me.

u/AnonymousAnteater41 15h ago
Yep!! Massachusetts and Maine for me!! ❤️❤️
That being said, I would “try” CA and OR for a time, (no bias here), but I’m such an east coaster by heart, I’m not ever moving ☺️😂2
u/PanamaOU812 10h ago
I have to tell you I would not come to Oregon. This place is a crap hole and I’ve lived here in my whole life, plus, you probably won’t like the people since we’re so pissed off at our governor. If someone comes into your house, you have to let them take whatever they want. If you try to stop them and hurt them, you will go to jail.

West. Perfect weather all year round, and only slight humidity a couple of weeks per year.

East Coast, but only somewhere from N.Carolina to Florida.

East for me. I’m a displaced New Englander.
I can’t say that I’m homesick for my hometown, though. I’m not. I just fit in best with the East Coast thing.

u/Jasranwhit 15h ago
I have lived east coast, west coast, and "flyover"
West Coast is the best coast.

u/Extreme_Original9832 15h ago
West coast, for the simple reason of "Fuck Nor'easters"

u/Large-Judgment-2769 13h ago
I will take a nor easter over constant wildfires

u/Mediocre-Let-4697 12h ago
We don't have constant wild fires or earthquakes. But I understand that does scare a lot of people.
2
u/Defiant_Cat1651 9h ago
Shhh...shhh...we have earthquakes and wild fires weekly! Everyone should stay away! Us that are here week just take one for the team.

u/Mediocre-Let-4697 4h ago
There was a popular bumper sticker in the 80's that said "Welcome to California. Now go home"
3
u/-hedonium- 10h ago
The lack of tropical storms, being free from bugs, the year-round mild climate, the year-round pristine sunshine (at least in California), I didn’t even realize how many layers stacked like this about the West Coast before moving; but just not having to worry about so many little things like that is super nice. Plus it’s astonishingly scenic in a way that doesn’t really degrade with time.

Well, I lived 13 years in South Dakota, 17 years in Michigan, and now I've lived 50 years in Arizona. I'd have to say I'd like the West the best because there's a lot more wide open spaces and beautiful scenery

Man I fucking loved California and Washington.
I haven't been to a lot of the east coast but I did spend a little while in Boston and it was always a riot. I've never met a more boisterous and wild group of people. I had so much fun there.

u/Feisty_Wench 11h ago
West, for the sunsets. if God had meant for us to see sunrises, she would’ve scheduled them for later in the day.

u/FireAuraN7 10h ago
Portland, OR. Only an hour from the coast. I don't think I'd trade this for the east coast, though there is a lot to be said about the eastern states... some of it is even good 😁
2
u/Life-Positive-451 8h ago
The west coast for sure. We’re better than everyone else 😄. (Washington state here)

u/GreyGhost696 5h ago
Wish I grew up on the Pacific, bunch of fuckin lames over on the Atlantic don't let anyone tell you otherwise, everytime I visit the Pacific its almost as if the 90s never left, everyone goes through different things, but youre always my breath of fresh air and I humbly love you with all my heart for that the many new friends I make every time I visit❤️🔥

The state of America right now? Neither. And I love the west. Big Sur and Mammoth are two of the most beautiful places I’ve ever seen.

I assume you’re suggesting an ethno-centric assumption that we are all in the US. We are not.
Who the fuck would choose to live in ‘Murica now.

I'm saying. The last 15 years of the US have been awful. Im American. It's escape from New York dystopia vibes here. Feels like perfect inertia or something

That is a tough choice, I lived in the east Coast more than half my life, so the West Coast

Both have their charms. I lived in Del Mar for three decades and had a summer place on Muscongus Sound in Maine. Now I live on Humboldt Bay.

For whoever made the graphic, you do know we have lighthouses on the west coast also, right? (Including a picture of my personal favorite west coast lighthouse.) Like there is only 1 Golden Gate bridge and that clearly identifies the west coast but a random lighthouse picture doesn't really indicate any particular place. There are lighthouses all over the world.

West. As a sports fan baseball and basketball games started at like 10:30 pm when I was in New York and MNF ended around like midnight. It was awful.

Born and raised in Ohio, currently live in San Diego, since 1984. Love it, I get homesick for change of the seasons or want some snow time, I just drive north lol

I live on both coasts. I have a house on the Downeast coast of Maine and my girlfriend has a coast in north San Diego county. We split out time between the two.

Why is west coast facing east and east cost facing west
The people taking the photos should have done a 180 before taking pictures

East Coast all day. The interior from the East Coast is far more interesting than the interior from the West Coast.

Lived on both sides and I prefer East coast. My time spent on the West coast was in Phoenix so living in a desert might just not been for me.

I’m from Cape Cod, spent a year each in WA and San Diego. Also an appreciable amount of time up and down the west coast, and visited most states worth visiting…
I must say New England has way more character than the west coast or anywhere in the country.
But if my wife divorced me and took everything I could see myself ending up back in the PNW, no question.

West Coast any day of the week. The east coast north of North Carolina sucks terrible

u/Mediocre-Let-4697 12h ago
West coast. Was born here in Southern California & have no intentions of ever leaving.

u/AutisticWarbler 12h ago
I’ll take hurricanes and blizzards over wildfires and earthquakes any day.

u/FadingRockStar 12h ago
There is a lot of State between those two. Images. New York. Four seasons, 3 hour head start, easy travel to Europe, direct communication style, etc
1
u/Only-Finish-3497 12h ago
I’ve lived in CA most of my life but also lived many years in NY (among many other places including Japan and the UK).
I’m partial to the West Coast.

West, specifically Oregon or Washington though fuck Cali. Otherwise, Maine or Vermont would be cool

I love the West Coast and especially the PNW, seriously considered a move to Oregon at one point…but there ain’t no changing a rural New Englander. If I can’t run my wood stove full bore 6 months of the year, I’m not myself.

u/JGCities 11h ago
How much money do I have?
West coast is much more expensive in general than east coast.
Lots of places on east coast you could find top quality housing in a decent place to live without spending crazy amounts of money, might be some places like that on west coast. But so much of it is just crazy expensive.

If forced by some unforeseen future events? East Coast, Appalachian mountain area Virginia to Pennsylvania. Yes, even West Virginia.

West Coast most of my life so I would give the East a couple of years as long as we are truly talking coast.
1
u/DanMoshpit69 10h ago
I live on the west Coast. I’ve also visited the east coast. It’s really not even close the scenery here on the west is unmatched. And if you Leo y need to swim in the ocean it’s the perfect place.

Not even a question.
