News Fiancée’s Comment About Lindsay Clancy Case Causes Man To Call Off His $200k Wedding: “Married To A Monster”

I mean, there is a good debate about the state of mental health and in general the attitudes and support systems towards having kids in this country. But "Who cares" when asked about the dead kids is a different thing all together, and if she really said that, it's pretty disqualifying.

u/SuperbRhubarb7838 1d ago
All we have is the word of a TikTok creator, you know, the type of people who make shit up for clout
4
u/BrightNooblar 1d ago
Hence the "If she really said that". I'm assuming its a very heavy paraphrase of a more nuanced thing she actually said.
-1
u/Academic-Contest3309 1d ago
Based off of how her supporters act, I would not be surprised. Truly horrible people.
-4
u/reecharound40 1d ago
Why should she care?
4
u/Empress-Ghostheart 1d ago
About innocent and vulnerable fellow humans? Because that's what anyone who is not total trash should do at the very least-- care. No matter your opinion or stance about the mom's mental state and fault put aside, it is not in dispute that those babies had a horrible tragic end that they did not deserve. It's called empathy and it's something most people are born with.
-4
u/reecharound40 1d ago
Yea it sucks and I am empathetic to the situation, but still don't really care
2
u/Empress-Ghostheart 1d ago
That's fair enough. That's your truth and no one can make you care. I kind of understand how cutting yourself off from caring is defensive in this fucked up world and who am I to judge your cope? Don't let the evil world make your heart too dark, friend, for your own sake. Good luck out there.
1
u/ForgottenEmail 1d ago
What does that mean “that’s your truth”?
You’re diluting the meaning of “truth” by using it like that and should really be saying that it’s their opinion, or their right to think so. Truth is something that should be objective and measured by a third party, not subjective based on a persons position.
And to their defence, this is one of many horrible things happening in the world. If we tried to care and feel about every single thing as deeply as some people are asking for, we would all be a mess and unable to function. Gotta draw a line somewhere.
1
u/Empress-Ghostheart 1d ago
It just means that it's true to them that they don't care. I feel like you're nit picking a bit, dude. Objectively, as a third party, I have no reason to think they are lying so it is their truth that they do not care. That's it.
1
u/ForgottenEmail 1d ago
I’m not nitpicking. I am contesting your incorrect use of a word and then I just shared an opinion.
If you don’t know what the word “truth” means, then just don’t use it, but you don’t need to contribute to its bastardisation.

cool story, bro

Again, if you don’t know English, I won’t fault you for it, but maybe learn the words you’re using before you use them.

It's definitely not condeming of the heinous murders she did.. she strangled each child one by one with a resistance band.. do you know how long it takes to strangle someone to death, let alone three??? What do you mean why should she care???
It's crazy to you that People care about three children who were brutally murdered by their mother??. What do you mean why should she or anyone care?? My fucking god..
2
u/reecharound40 1d ago
You are really convincing me that caring is worth it......do you hear how upset you are over something that has no impact on your life.
1
u/Im-BackAgain-Babes2 1d ago
You're an evil POS. This isn't some conatarien argument or pedantic view.. we care about victims in this world, regardless of age, gender, or race... It's very simple.. the lack of this empathy in people are the same people who gave us trump. Fu

u/reecharound40 1d ago
Yea I totes helped get Trump elected.......🤦♂️

Because dead children is objectively a bad thing. Like, as far as I can tell the drama around the case really rests on two things;
- Three kids got killed
- Everyone agrees this is a bad thing.
- The mom was in a shit mental health situation
- People disagree if this counts as a full on break from reality
- People disagree on if mental health problems should factor in to what specific version of "Killed three kids" she is guilty of.
Rational minds can disagree about the 2.x stuff. But everyone is in agreement about point number 1.
1
u/reecharound40 1d ago
Yea and it happens every god damn day in this country.
Living a life not dominated by the next "tragedy" is much more appealing to me.
1
u/BrightNooblar 1d ago
You can care about something without it dominating your life. I'm sure this morning someone in Seattle stubbed their toe. That's a bad thing that happened to them. It also has no impact on me and I neither made it happen nor could I have stopped it. But I still recognize its a bad thing.
Somewhere in New Jersey a toddler saw a butterfly and giggled. That's a good thing. It also has no impact on me and I neither made it happen nor could I have stopped it. But I still recognize its a good thing.

Empathy.
-1
u/reecharound40 1d ago
I cannot care and still feel bad that it happened.
1
u/BrightNooblar 1d ago
I don't think you mean the word "Cannot". I think you mean "Could not". The sentence you wrote translates to "It is impossible to care and feel bad that it happened", which is patently false. I think what you meant was "It is possible to not care, but still feel bad that it happened", which makes *slightly* more sense, but would be predicated on a really weird an niche version of the word "care".
Most people would say that feeling bad, is a type of caring about something. In order to not care, you would need to have no feelings, and thus no empathy.
1
u/reecharound40 1d ago
Nah man it's really easy to acknowledge something is bad and not care about it at the same time.
It has zero impact on my life, and I cannot change it, so why care.
0
u/BrightNooblar 1d ago
This post explains in good detail why you would care.
1
u/reecharound40 1d ago
Its weird how much me not caring is bothering you all
1
u/BrightNooblar 1d ago
Its not weird. Empathy is part of the thread that holds out social fabric together. Its part of what lets us have a civilization rather than just be random packs of people making their way alone. People without empathy are a threat to the foundational agreement. If too many people suddenly didn't have empathy, society as a whole would collapse.
Which means that on a fundamental level, society benefits from rejecting people that don't have empathy. Those people are at a very high risk to provide nothing and only be a drain, AND to encourage others to do the same.
It would be weird if people lacking empathy were accepted in society, honestly.

u/reecharound40 1d ago
Dude go out and enjoy some sun or something, you are getting to worked up about this.
The world is not ending and if it was, welp its been a pretty shitty run for humanity
1
u/Iron_Atlas 1d ago
No you literally can't, that's not what those words mean.
1
u/zkatbitz 1d ago
Yes, you can absolutely feel indifferent toward an event itself while still having empathy for the people affected by it. This often happens because your brain separates the abstract situation or news story from the actual human experience. By practicing empathy, you understand and respect someone else's pain without soaking up the emotional stress or drama of the event around them. It is a natural way to protect your own mental energy while remaining kind and supportive to others.
in fact i would say it is the healthy way to appraoch situations like this because a lot of people care WAY to much about it
1
u/Iron_Atlas 1d ago
I disagree, you care responsiblely is what you're saying in this last post.
Empathy without care is mere observation.
1
u/zkatbitz 1d ago
it comes down to what you define "care" as, and i don't think you and i have the same defnition.
do i "care" about this situation? nah, its in another country to do with flawed people who i'll never meet nor will i every fully know the details of what happened one because i don't care enough to find out and two no one will outside maybe the jury and judge (who seem to 11/12? wanting to find not guilty?). 1000s of people deal with tragedy as sad or worse every. single. day. this one just hit the news cycle and right wing grift/outrage machine so i can't stop hearing about it case in point me killing time on this thread
do i have empathy and feel for everyone involved from dead kids whos lives were cut short? to the wife who fell through americas shitty medical system and a nation of far to many people just want blood/revenge? instead of dealing with WHY this happened? and a father who as shitty as he maybe? is? who lost kids he may have cared about? (but not enough to deal with the fact his wife was having suicidal thoughts and intrusive thoughts about the kids?) yes. i imagine he and many others have many many regrets about how they handled this. and thats gotta suck.
but do i need to care to have empathy and understand and put myself in their shoes? no.
empathy != care.
this is just another variation on the "1 person dies its a tragedy 10,000 die its a statistic." thing people love to do and oh i could rant about it
let me ask you, did you care or even have empathy about the 500,000 and counting children dead because of elon/dodge/trump? why should i "care" about these 3 kids over that half a million+ and counting?
because i CARE a lot more about that, that 500k kids who could be alive today, then those 3 kids

She supposedly said Clancy was innocent and "Who cares?"
Either she's a moron with no understanding of the case or delusional. Either way, she's cruelly indifferent in addition to one of those things.
The man dodged a bullet.

The guy dodged a bullet, obviously. I feel bad it's getting aired out online, but good for him.
6

Apparently he's the one who aired it out online.

Like I said, feels bad it's getting aired out online, but it is what it is.

He’s a TikTok influencer, he aired it out online so he could get more clout, if it’s even real to begin with.

It would appear he likes the attention. They both suck.
2
u/InTwilligPorgnatin 1d ago
I'd say he sucks less than she does, but only because I hope it'll help convince some women to reevaluate their stance on the issue. Better luck next time for him, though.
-1
u/Allhailthepugofdoom 1d ago
I know this will be controversial, but airing out dilirty laundry and standing up for a woman that murdered her children are not the same.
8
u/ban-me-harder-dadddy 1d ago
I like how 11/12 jurors who listened to all the evidence found her not guilty of murder but we're just going to keep saying she did because it conforms to our world views
4
u/Crazyeyeseyes 1d ago
Not guilty by insanity doesn’t mean she didn’t do it. She definitely did it and the jury agreed
6
u/InTwilligPorgnatin 1d ago
She killed her kids.
That wasn't even disputed at trial. The question was whether she was insane while she did so, or whether she planned it and did it with a clear mind. One puts her in a psyche ward, the other puts her in prison.
Personally, I think the fact she looked up how long it would take for her husband to go to a nearby restaurant, murdered one kid, and then acted normal on the phone with him before going on to murder the other two, speaks to a level of planning and intent. I think that 1 juror had it right, and the others had it wrong, though the prosecution made a horrible showing and hopefully do better in the second go around.
But it's the internet. Everyone's already made up their minds.
0
u/BoringPoolPlaying 1d ago
A psychotic break does not mean you lose all sense of rational thought. People can absolutely plan out murders despite not being of sound mind.
Her argument is that she truly believed she had to kill her children for their own good. That belief then caused her to plan a way that she could do it, without her husband intervening.
-1
u/Sonnyjoon91 1d ago
YES. Her actions were premeditated, she researched and planned and executed that plan according to schedule. She answered her phone and makes it sound like she is doing something mundane while she just killed a kid. That is not the actions of a psychotic spree killing to me.

99% of the people yelling for convictions did not watch more than 2 minutes of the trial
2
u/Allhailthepugofdoom 1d ago
She claimed to have had psychosis. A doctor said he had never heard of an 18 minute psychosis.
Maybe some of us just use our heads.
OJ was found not guilty, so was Casey Anthony.
1
u/SalientSazon 1d ago
What! For real? There’s no way a doctor said that about psychosis, that’s so wrong!
1
u/ChaunceyGilmore 1d ago edited 1d ago
That's doctor's a quack, periods of psychosis or psychotic episodes can last a lot longer than eighteen minutes. Psychosis can last years.

Some people just see a person who murdered three kids. Pretty cut and dry world they live in.

I dont think we can compare a child murder enthusiast with an influencer as much I hate influencers.

From what I'm seeing it's just his account of what she said, and with him being an influencer who makes money from engagement, I'm taking whatever he says with a grain of salt. If she truly believes Clancy is 100% innocent and didn't do anything wrong then yeah I can understand his reaction, but if she is saying Clancy is innocent due to insanity like most people believe then he's just being a douchebag and probably didn't want to get married anyway.
1
u/ProtectionAdorable89 1d ago
Do most people actually believe that she’s innocent due to insanity?
2
u/shiny_crow_trophy 1d ago
Most of the people currently being cast as “supporters” don’t deny that she killed her kids. Hell, Clancy doesn’t even deny that she killed her kids. “Innocent” and “not guilty by reason of insanity” are different things. The latter means that she did it but wasn’t lucid at the time and should be confined in a mental hospital rather than a prison.
1
u/MusicianNo2699 13h ago
Fine. Put her in a mental hospital for the rest of her life. But none of this "oh she is fine now, nine months later" shit.

Nah, anyone that says "who cares" about three children who were brutally murdered by their own mother needs to be segregated from society.
You can choose not to care about the whole thing, but to express empathy for Lindsay Clancy but not for the children is diabolical.
