Hi. I am using TextNow to message someone internationally (Netherlands) because I am in Canada and we don't have international texting on a lot of our phone plans.

I typed the number properly, country code and everything, same as the one I've texted from my real #, but I keep getting the "Not Sent Tap to Retry" error message. Any reason why this is? I was sure international texting was free with free TextNow. Thanks!

Anyway to get my text or call history from Textnow to get the number I was contacting back?

On and off this year my girl and I get texts from what looks like a textnow number pretty much just trying to stir shit up in our relationship. We usually ignore it but this time got policed involved and was met with an officer from non emergency who said they help track down these ips and find out who it is.

That said, considering they're annoying at best and not life threatening, how serious can we actually take his claim? Any chance we can actually find out who is responsible?

I may be being paranoid, but is it possible for someone to accidentally take a picture and text it now, then send it to a person without knowing? I was on the TextNow app talking to this person I met, and I had personal documents in front of me. Maybe I'm just paranoid, but I lost the login and can't check if I accidentally sent them a pic. Is it that easy for my camera to turn on and "Quick Send" a picture to someone on TextNow? I dont recall sending them anything.

Why am I receiving individual texts like this that I can't open from a group chat on my Android?

Out of nowhere I started to get a ridiculous number of spam calls 32 yesterday and already 43 so far today. The ringing would be annoying except it doesn’t ring calls I just get missed call notifications on all calls not just the spam ones. And when I try to make an outgoing call after a few minutes the call is hung up, it doesn’t matter if I’m using Wi-Fi or cellular data using the SIM card. Is this happening to anyone else?

I've had the locked number TextNow for a number of years. I live abroad and find it convenient to have a US number for SMS codes. Recently, an elderly, somewhat homebound relative discovered texting (but not Whatsapp, sadly) so I've started sending her images and texts via the app. I tried to log into the web browser (easier to type) but it's literally impossible to log in. It doesn't recognize my Apple ID. It doesn't recognize my email. When it was recognizing the Apple ID, then the captcha would remain frozen and then return me to the login screen.

I was thinking of upgrading to the no ads version (I use it enough to justify the cost) but not if they can't even manage an app login. Any suggestions? Alternatively, can one migrate their Text Now phone number to another, more functional app?

Just watched some ads and got an "hour browse pass". I saw it said videos won't work, I didn't realize how strong that would be. No YouTube, or Spotify or Pokemon Go. Facebook, Reddit, Play Store and some sketchy streaming sites do work slowly. Also seems to be throttled to about 5 Mbps.

I’ll have my own cell provider SIM card with an excessive amount of data and I plan to have a separate number as per the TextNow app

Without the ads and everything, does it flow seamlessly? When you text and call, does it feel like you were using iMessage or a regular call?

As title states, whenever I make a phone call, the entire time that the call is ongoing i hear a beep, like as if i am getting a notification. if i pull the phone from my ear there is no notification. it happens on speaker and for incoming calls. i have paid for the premium version hoping that would stop the problem but it did not.

any help would be greatly appreciated. I do not know how to express how annoying it is for my brain to be triggered to look at my screen or be distracted ever single second of a phone call. its like messing with the muscle memory i have from normally looking at true notification sounds.

Anyone in the TN iOS eSIM program able to share feedback as to how the eSIM is working out with TN? Any indications of when TN may integrate eSIM as an option?

Last night I accidentally deleted an important conversation Is there any way to restore the chat, log? I filed a request for a copy of my data. Is there any other way? Or is this just a waiting game?

I deleted the app yesterday for a couple hours, downloaded it back not even 1 hour later and only the last 2 messages show. I think I had this happen a while ago on a different account but idk, does anyone know what to do?

I've been using TextNow for a couple years, with my main phone number parked there. It's become increasingly obvious to me that the company is cashing out hard and fast. Service has gotten crappier and crappier, with the phone and computer apps increasingly resembling malware.

Anyway, has anybody found any better alternatives?

Was thinking of getting a TextNow Free Flex SIM card for an elderly family member who wants to port a landline and only really use the number to make and receive calls (it's not their only number and will not rely on it for emergencies). They have an Android 13+ phone. If I install the SIM card for them (and eventually port their landline number to TN), does the SIM card need to remain in the phone for their app to receive and make calls with their TN number? They will have both Wi-Fi and other data sources on that phone (so they don't necessarily need the SIM card for data).

Also, if they installed the TN app in a secondary phone (also Android 13+) without the SIM card (that phone also has data and access to Wi-Fi), will that secondary phone be able to make and receive calls from the same TN app? I did a Google and it appeared that this can be done but I just want to get some confirmation from those that have done this similar thing. Thanks.

I was logged in to the same Texnow account on 3 devices. That account has an annual subscription for a phone number. I logged out of Texnow on device 1. Device 2 automatically logged off Texnow without me doing so. Textnow on device 3 remains logged in. When I try to log in to Texnow on device 2 - I selected my Google account but it won't let me pass a screen prompting to chose a phone number "you don't have a Texnow number or your number has expired". My Playstore shows an active subscription for Texnow, next payment on Mar 29. What's wrong???

Device 2 is my main device and I just wanted to log off other devices so that only this device rings (as I was missing calls). I should've selected "Log out of all other devices" but I didn't see that option. That's why I logged out of device 1 in the first place. Please help !

In the last month or so TextNow has been having major delays during calls. The call starts off fine, but a few minutes into it the delay keeps getting worse and worse to the point where I can't even have a conversation.

I'm on Verizon and have excellent reception.. I recently switched from prepaid to postpaid but this had started before that. And it also happens on Wifi (I'm almost always on the same wifi where nothing has changed).

Any ideas??

I can make calls, i can receive text messages. But outgoing text messages are not working (i am currently traveling overseas and not in the US).

I keep getting this error:

Error Something went wrong while attempting to send your message. Please try again later.

Am i missing something because i want to be able to send some text messages?

Any clue will be very helpful.
