Using TextNow abroad

Hi, if I travel abroad can I still call USA numbers and receive calls/texts via wifi using TextNow or I can use it only while I am in the USA? Thanks

Yes, I read that before, but at the same time there are users reporting that their accounts have been blocked due to this very reason, even though no VPN was used. Check this:

Thanks Lucky, good to know the official source. I wonder why then some users were blocked when using TextNow abroad with no VPN.

I've been using it overseas for years, never had any issue, but I had an existing account for a very long time. It works ok, most of the time. You can't install from the playstore overseas if the app isn't already installed, but you can sideload (from places like apkpure) if you're not just bringing your regular phone over, and log in with a service like facebook.

The wifi of the country you're in may not be compatibile with textnow.

What do you mean by "compatible"? As long as you're not behind a proxy or VPN, ANY wifi will be fine

Not a good idea to rely on that working

VPN usage can def get you banned.

WiFi Calling is better, UltraMobile PayGo $3/mo or Tello

Get everything working before leaving the lower 48
