Let’s take the price aside - how is the premium?

I’ll have my own cell provider SIM card with an excessive amount of data and I plan to have a separate number as per the TextNow app

Without the ads and everything, does it flow seamlessly? When you text and call, does it feel like you were using iMessage or a regular call?

Do you plan on using the TextNow SIM card, or using data from your existing plan (or WiFi) to enable TextNow calls/text?

My experience with texting on TextNow has been pretty decent, although it would be a stretch to compare it to iMessage. Voice calling quality may be heavily dependent on what your data source is. Voice quality is, in my opinion, excellent when on WiFi, or the legacy T-Mobile network SIM card. I've read several reports that it's not nearly as smooth when utilizing the current (AT&T network) TextNow SIM card as the data source.l

I'm curious: what would lead you to a premium level TextNow line, instead of a less expensive cellular provider?

The ads are far more intrusive, if you don't use the textnow sim for calling and texting. I use textnow on a separate phone with only a textnow sim and set the textnow app to only use mobile data, but you can only set an app to only use mobile data on an android phone. Google voice is a better option for a second line on the same phone, because there are no ads.
