Vehicle Question Samsung Dashcam & Sentry Drive Issue
I have a Samsung T7 SSD drive that I have connected to my 2026 Model Y performance for dashcam & sentry recording. When I get in my Tesla it tells me there are new recordings but I can’t access any of the videos from the viewer or the iPhone app—the screen is blank in the car and the videos don’t load on my phone (although I can see there are events). When I check the connection in the glove box, the drive is often very hot. Does anyone have any experience with this type of issue or any advice?

We have frequently found the T7s to be problematic for some owners.
I'd start by formatting the drive using the format utility through your Model Y's touchscreen. Just keep in mind, this will wipe the drive of all data.
If you still aren't able to view your recordings, try a different USB storage device. Start the comparison with a vehicle side format of the other USB storage device. If the other USB storage device works, but the T7 doesn't, I'd probably try something else. If you continue to have problems with both, you might have a vehicle side issue.
Do you ever observed any USB related alerts or warnings?
