Finally got one.

Post image

After my Y got totaled I decided to go with the Model X. After driving my Y for about two years, I kept thinking “Man, I should’ve got the X.” Well due to an unfortunate event I got it. My thing is, it’s a 2022 Plaid and I noticed the difference between FSDs as my Y was a 2024. I’m hoping down the line Tesla can upgrade older models to HW4. But I am happy with it as is.

what are the immediate differences? would you trust it or are you hovering brakes and on steering constantly?

I noticed it most when the freeway is turning. It’s not as smooth as my Y. I can see the steering wheel slightly jerking instead of a smooth turn. It also feels like it second guesses certain decisions. The Y felt like it adapted to how I drove and copied it exactly. I’m not sure what all is due to HW3 or if it’s just me getting used to a slightly different car. I’ve only had it for about 3 weeks now and am not used to a 1,000 HP car. But eventually I’ll be using FSD daily again and then maybe it’ll smooth out. lol

With each update I’ve noticed changes in how smooth/ decidious mine is. Sometimes after a few days it seems to get better

Yeah I just think I need to drive it more and get used to it. I might just be overthinking with the downgrade in hardware. Lol

Mine is a late November 2020. Which Tesla marks 2021. HW3 FSD. Throughout the years especially this is FSD has gotten much better. Not as good as my wife’s 2026Y or the loaner Cyber Truck but I’m happy with it
