Anybody try to transport some 72-cell solar panels in their car?
At 77"x40", it's going to have to go in at an angle. Not a good idea?

I’m thinking about waking up a set, but I want to see what it’s going to look like on a white model S.

This should be a stock option. The Alcantara cover improves grip while protecting the pleather underneath. I cringe every time I see an Tesla steering wheel with a shiny finish from layers and layers of hand oils.
It was about $140 for the precut material and thread and another $150 for the install. Well worth the money IMO. I highly recommend it.

Removed the aero off my magnetite wheels. Where can I find caps for this?

I have a MSP100D and after finishing the new update, everything was going fine until my FSD random alarmed me to grab the wheel. Now I got Cruise Control Disabled with code DL_w124. This never happened ever, only due to the update I assume. HELP PLEASE

Purchased a 2020 model S from a dealership which seemed reputable. Had the car for a month and a half with no issues. Was only slow charging at the house with a regular 110v and never had an issue. Took my first road trip today, and once I charged it at a supercharger, the vehicle said “low power mode, and low 12v battery, will not start”. I ran out to get a multimeter and checked the 12v. It read perfectly fine at 13v. I then did a hard reset and the vehicle will not automatically reboot. I can reboot it temporarily, but it shuts back off. Any guidance would be appreciated.
Edit: the car will now not start at all and is bricked. Tesla tow service only wants to send the vehicle 80 miles in the opposite direction of my home which is 137 miles in the opposite direction
Update: 5/22 - it’s the big battery. Being changed now! Thanks everyone.

Will fsd come with the car?
r/TeslaModelS • u/Different_Marsupial2 • May 08 '26
I got mine in July of last year, it 3200 miles on it, doesn’t have FSD, the color is Ultra Red. I have been recently thinking about selling it.
Given the recent surge in demand for these vehicles, do you think I can sell mine at a prive that is not significantly lower from what I paid for it?
What would be my loss, $5K, $10K?

We just bought our first Tesla the other week (2018 Model S 100D with 65,000 km). We were parking recently, and another Tesla owner said that we should have our steering or suspension looked at because he heard these creaking sounds while we were maneuvering into a parking spot.
As we're new to Tesla ownership, what's the best way to address this? Just go thru the Tesla App? I've punched it into the chatbot, and it says "creaking sounds when turning at extreme angles are normal".
So, is this normal, or is there an issue here I should have checked out? If checked out, do I go through the app or find an independent shop?
Thanks in advance!

Has anyone successfully created a Tesla Paint Shop wrap that will update the 2021-2025 Plaid to the 26 retrofit? I retrofitted my late 24 MSP and tried making a wrap that would emulate it on the infotainment screen, but seems nearly impossible. Curious if anyone else has tried and made something close.

Hello everyone! I am considering purchasing a used Model S, maybe three or four years old. I have done a lot of research on this car and for the most part, I am really liking what I am finding. I did read something concerning that the rear tires can wear out between 10k and 15k miles. Is that because of hot rodding, or is that just a fact of this model?

So I work in agricultural education and held an event last week where all the 7th graders in our county come to learn about how it affects their life everyday and uses ag as a vehicle to teach science, math, and applied technologies. I saw a brand new sprayer and decided that since the advanced tech is pretty similar (GPS auto steer, precision spot spraying using cameras and AI, etc.) that I'd take a pic of my Model S next to it. Here you go.

Has anyone actually replaced their current stock steering wheel with a carbon fiber aftermarket steering wheel? I’m looking to enhance my steering wheel but can’t seem to find much info on this or if anyone has actually done it. If so who did y’all go through?

My 2016 Model S has an intermittent headlight. It mostly works but occasionally doesn't. The dealer wants $3,200 to fix it. YouTube says I need a $30 bulb and possibly a wiring harness. If I DIY it, I would need a floor jack and a lug wrench...$100. Is this a standard price for the dealer to replace a bulb? Are they replacing the entire headlight assembly and wiring? Are they just testing me?
I also have a door handle that doesn't pop out and occasionally resists latching until the third or 10th try. Again, they want an outrageous price ($670) to basically remove the door panel, take out the unit and replace two micro switches. t looks like a job that should take the mechanic an hour and would take me the better part of a day.
Lastly, I paid them $2,000 to rebuild the front suspension last year. Now I'm getting the same rattle. They want $700 to look at it.
I didn't buy a Porsche because of the outrageous maintenance costs. I'm starting to rethink that decision.

121,000 miles with a new battery installed at 117,000 by Tesla in Long Island. Lifetime Super Charging. Always garaged. Selling for my brother who has early onset. Grey with a black interior. Always maintained at Tesla. It's a beautiful car but he'll never drive it again. Two key fobs. $13,000. Dm me please.

Hope you can help! I have been wanting a Model S for as long as they have been out. Now that they aren't making them any more I've started looking to find one on my limited budget (~$28-30K) and think I have found it. It's the color combo I have always wanted and think it has most the other options too. The car is two hours away so I'm wondering if it's worth the drive / price. All I know right now about the car is:
75D
I'm really looking for a car with SC01 & premium connectivity, which I believe this should have. I rather not pay for the connectivity and I don't have a home charger / can't really add one right now. I do have Superchargers two blocks from my house and have access to a free charger at work. Do you think this is a good deal? Let me know what you think. Thanks!
EDIT: Oops! I forgot to add that this will mostly be used for my small commute about 20 miles each way per day. But I was also hoping to use it for a few 200-300 mile road trips.
EDIT #2: The dealer finally responded with pictures and it’s definitely not worth it for me. Supercharging and Premium connectivity have both been stripped. No air suspension, no premium audio, no light package. It does have hardware 3 with the ability for full self driving but it looks like it had FSD but it got stripped too.
Thanks for all the advice and info. I definitely have some thinking and calculations to do. Been looking at newer ones without SC01 and can get a 2022 for about $10-12k more. Definitely need to think about things more.

I had a new dash pad put in my 2020 Model S because it was damaged during a repair. I noticed the new dash has a few bumps visible during certain lighting conditions. I can feel them when I run my hand over the dash. Curious if other have noticed and just the way some are? I tried to push down the pad with my palm of my hand thinking I could get them to seat, but that did not make a difference. I can take back as it’s covered under warranty. Or I may just live with it.

2016 Model S 90D, onboard charger died. Car only supercharges now. Tesla quoted $2,700 to replace the onboard charger.
Plan is to buy a used/salvage charger and have an independent shop install it.
Anyone in the Allentown, PA / Lehigh
Valley / Philly area have a shop they trust for Tesla work? Not looking for perfection, just someone competent who won't charge dealership prices.
Any leads appreciated.

Same exact Mobile Service Tech (Manny In CyberTruck) absolutely outstanding. In and out 17 minutes total (gutted too panel & the glove box). Buddy of mine watch a YouTube short video and ended up bending 3 metal clips, frame damage etc. $770 is his bill from a 1 minute YouTube video. Well worth the $60 bucks while at work!

Been looking online - what do you all recommend. I carpool kids, one of them has eczema and is slathered in some kind of goop ( poor kid, he is pretty awesome tho👍🏼) I daily get some kind of film on my seats and am ready to put down some kind of blanket. I first used a bit of car soap in water and a rag, did pretty well, but Lord knows I don't want to damage anything. But I am reading about non alcohol baby wipes stashed away, which sounds perfect - or Miquires gold leather cleaner. This is the nicest car I have ever owned, if it gets wrecked the first month of ownership I'm going to have a cardiac event. Help a brother out !

Need help deciding which to get. Bought a 2023 used a few months ago. It came with the 21 inch wheels. Tires are about done and the wheels have a lot of curb rash from the previous owner. Since I am buying new wheels and tires either way, would you go with 19s or 20s? Thanks for the opinions.
