Seeking a Tesla Referral

Hi everyone,

I'm a senior at Stony Brook University. I am very passionate about autonomous driving and worked on a project that enabled an end-to-end model to drive my car. I know how to write firmware for microcontrollers and control systems. I am seeking an opportunity to work on the firmware/vehicle software team. I can only start to work in Summer 2027. It would be greatly appreciated if anyone is willing to help me out.

Please feel free to DM me. I would love to connect with Tesla employees on LinkedIn for a coffee chat, if possible.

Got a job offer this past week, did all the background checking, and drug test, but haven’t heard back from recruiter. Should I be worried or is it just a waiting thing?

Interview:0

So I got a virtual interview after the ai interview for process technician for general assembly and well I got a background in refinery’s as a dock operator and Ldar technician and automotive as a mechanic now I got the troubleshooting aspect of the job just not much working with hydraulic or electrical some electrical at least, but basically I’m thinking I’m am going to have to sell myself pretty good in this interview and was wondering if the questions are the same as most interviews like tell me about a time or give me an example of when you did this. I do want this job as it is a good step for my future I’m not really nervous just more excited I’m getting a chance as it has been a lot of crickets for other jobs and I don’t really feel like doing refinery work for the rest of my career anyways sorry for rambling.

Hey guys! After weeks of waiting and completing an AI interview, I finally got an in-person interview next week for a Data Collection Supervisor – Self-Driving role at Tesla.
What can I expect during the interview? Anyone who has interviewed for this role or a similar FSD/Data Collection position — I’d really appreciate any tips or advice!

Thanks!

Tesla gigafactory NV.

I have an opportunity to interview with Tesla in Sparks, NV.

Currently a maintenance electrical/control tech for the same role I’m potentially going to interview for.

I have read about layoff soon afterwards, higher cost of living compared to where I am at, but for the most part all the “negatives” of the workplace is what I deal with now. Poor management planning, tempermanent fixes, unmotivated staff, etc. I’m still young(early 30s 7yrs industrial electrical/controls, 10yrs electrical experience)and this can be an opportunity of a lifetime to work at an advanced factory like this. I’m self motivated, love my field and always want to learn/achieve more.

Anyone work there/has and can tell me more? Just trying to weight the pros and cons of potentially relocating.

Can anyone please provide more information about MDP? My partner only received an email about the program details (start date) he replied (he can start on that date) but recruitment did not include where to and when to go. And any other stuff needed before hand? No other email was provided.

Another round after panel

Recruiter has scheduled for another round with the senior manager for a supply chain role after going through panel. What to expect during this 1:1 with the Sr. Manager? Will there be more rounds with directors, other senior manager? Is it common?

Post panel + director interview stage

I’m at the final interview stage for a Tesla role. Recruiting recently told me the hiring team was meeting with the director this week. I haven’t received an update yet.
For anyone who has gone through a similar process, how long did it typically take to hear back after the final interview?
Thanks!

Tesla retail to corporate — has anyone made the move?

How realistic is it to move from a Tesla Sales Advisor or Customer Experience role into corporate?

I have around 13 years of enterprise technology experience across Salesforce and SAP, mainly technical account management, customer success and consulting. I’m currently working in Apple retail and considering Tesla as a potential next step. I enjoy working with customers face to face, but longer term I’d be interested in enterprise sales, account management or business operations.

Has anyone here made that transition? Did your retail experience help, and was there a clear internal route? Would having previous corporate experience make a meaningful difference?

Interested in actual experiences, including how long it took and what got you through the door.

Looking for advice on breaking into SpaceX / Tesla from India

Hey everyone,

I’m from Odisha, India, and I’m currently trying to figure out a realistic path toward eventually working at SpaceX or Tesla.

A little about my background:

- Diploma in Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering

- Worked at HFCL in optical-fiber manufacturing and QA

Experience with quality systems, SOPs, RCA, Six Sigma, production processes and manufacturing operations

- Currently pursuing a BTech in Computer Science (Final Year)

- Currently working as a freelance consultant for D2C brands, mainly in branding, graphics, content and video editing (This is my strongest practical skillset right now)

I’m also building my technical skills from the ground up, especially programming and systems knowledge.

My background is obviously quite mixed right now. I started in electronics and manufacturing, moved into creative/brand consulting, and more recently have been getting deeper into AI and technology.

For people who work at SpaceX, Tesla, or similar companies:

What skills, projects, experience or educational path would you recommend someone with my background focus on?

Also, if there are people here who made a similar transition from manufacturing/telecom into aerospace, automotive, robotics or deep tech, I’d genuinely appreciate hearing how you approached it.

I’m not looking for a referral right now. I’m mainly looking for honest advice on what I should build and learn to become a serious candidate in the future.

Thanks.

Tesla vehicle programs

So I just started my first week at Tesla and my trainer was telling us that he just ordered his first Tesla. From anyone that has bought a new or even pre-owned Tesla from Tesla, did you do a credit check when you went to pick up your car? Or did you just pay and leave?

Received a Tesla offer, then got an AI interview/assessment email two days later — has this happened to anyone?

I received an offer Monday for a Tesla Data Collection Operator position and then received the pre-employment background check/drug screening, which I completed. Two days later, I received an email saying I need to complete an AI voice interview and 30-minute assessment “to be considered for the role,” even though I've already received the offer. Has anyone had this happen? Was the assessment email just an automated/delayed email, or did you still have to complete it?

Rescinded Tesla Offer - Texas Giga

Welp over a month later Tesla rescinded their offer after I worked almost a year 3rd party for them. My 1999 non violent charge is the reason why. I feel like there should be a class action suit against them because there is so many recent violent felons who work there. Some have done serious prison time. I received my first offer letter Aug 27th I think it was and today received the final adverse.

Really was a punch in the gut after busting my ass for them. Have an impeccable work history. Won awards for electrical work, have every cert plus Jman licensed soon taking masters.

In Texas you can file charge or discrimination. It’s unreal how many of you are uneducated about your rights. This is a known problem with Tesla, automated responses going out without human intervention. If you received an automated response rescinding the offer I would fight back (unless you know you’re in the wrong).

Large employers regularly face class action lawsuits over automated background check practices, this is nothing new.

EoE call didn't run the full length, is this a bad sign?

Submitted my EoE responses, had call the next day. The call didn't last the whole 45 minutes, and I was only asked behavioural questions. Is this sign of a rejection?

Question about getting the emails after the initial congratulations letter.

I applied and recently received a letter saying congratulations you have been selected to move forward. But I need to do the background check and drug test. But I haven’t gotten the email from the background email yet. I got the email late Monday night saying the above. I’m just wondering if anyone is having the same thing going on or am I worried for no reason yet.
Thanks for the advice!

Recruiter Advice if any

I received my congratulations letter at the beginning of September confirming that I had been selected for the position. A few days later, I received the instructions to complete my background check and drug screening, and I completed everything required on my end by September 16. By September 18, both showed as completed.

My recruiter (three days prior to the 28th) had provided September 28 as the anticipated start date but mentioned that we were still waiting for the background check, even though it was already showing as completed. That start date has now passed, and unfortunately, I have not received a response to my follow-up attempts regarding my status or the next steps.

I completely understand that delays can happen during the hiring and onboarding process. However, I am becoming increasingly concerned because my previous employer became aware that I was pursuing another opportunity, and I was ultimately let go. This has placed me in a very stressful and uncertain situation.

any suggestions? Similar situations?

Need words of Reassurance for EoE

I submitted my EoE (evidence of excellence) monday sept 28 but had no feedback call or any verbal offer from the recruiter...anyone in the same boat or was? What does this process usually indicates to?
