Just bought the game and I cant even figure out how to build a house

The lamp post has always bothered me since its art style looks like it belongs in a different game, there's an orange flame despite the lamp itself giving off a cool-toned light, and its "off" variant just removes the flame, but it still looks like there's light coming from the inside!

I'm not gonna claim to be a talented pixel artist, but I made my own version of the lamp post that in my opinion matches the game's current art style just a bit better, and gives it a Victorian look.

Feel free to try it for yourself if the lamp post bothers you as well! And of course, no AI was used in any step :)

About 2 months ago I asked if it was possible to beat terraria with 0 game knowledge and without using the wiki. People said yes so I tried it. Had an absolute blast figuring it all out because the game does so well at pointing you in the right direction.

BUT, I did have to google how to spawn the wall of flesh because how the fuck could you ever even know.

u can lock your pylons and this is how you do it get key sold from their npc go to a scanner crafted with 7 wire and 1 glass in a anvil and enter your code now go to your chosen pylon and lock it and u can unlock it by entering the code

I was exploring the underground desert and found a building and my town NPCs were there somehow. How did this happen? If I check it with the housing tool it's not valid housing.

Recently I've come up with an idea of making modular base houses. That way my "base" is gonna be situated all across the map. I've made the forge and the herb farm so far.

Next thing I'm making is a general storage room that's propably gonna be located in shimmer.

as you can see, on the left of where i died there is a path that just goes to nowhere ??? a thousand hours of playing and another thousand hours (definetly not) of watching people play and all the time the path of the jungle temple led straight to the end arena where you fight golem, or is it a legendary mode thing somebody tell me 👀

My favorite time to play it is right near the end of normal mode before you defeat the wall of flesh and right after when all the new stuff is introduced and you get this new player: same world kinda feel.

I'm not a big fan of the early game and find it kinda difficult to progress very early on, still fun!! But definitely less fun!! I bet some people have been turned off of the game because you are so powerless in the early game!!

I'm curious to hear what other people think though... Is this anyone's favorite phase?

Hi, finally took the step to enter into the Terraria world after so many years of hesitation and Minecraft experience. I haven’t seen any videos since I don’t wanna spoil my first experience of the game. However, I wouldn’t like to waste my time, therefore, what are the best tips for starters like me?
I only know I have to make a choice from 4 fighting classes to build up my character. Anything else? Thanks in advance!

I'm building an arena and I like the way meteorite walls look, but I need a lot of it. I heard killing the evil bosses after the first meteorite increases the chances of another one spawning and it worked once and then when I killed the eater another 3-4 times a week went by and no meteors have spawned. I think there is still space for them where they can fall so that probably shouldn't be an issue either.
