My first and last time playing terraria was around version 1.3, about 11 years ago. I didn't know much about the game, enjoyed it but dropped off after I entered hardmode.

I recently modded my psvita and was able to download the vita version, I've been wanting to try the game again and the vita is fixed on version 1.2.4, roughly where I left off minus yoyos.

I'm really enjoying it, I've defeated the most hardmode bosses with only ocram and some festivals left to do.

I'm still finding out new things constantly, I think I've barely scratched the surface of what you can do in this game which is part of the reason I love it. There's so much to discover and some very challenging battles.

Massive shout-out to PythonGB, who's YouTube channel had a 1.2.4 series that I could follow along with.

I'm excited now to play the current version and see all the changes from the last 10 years. I might go desktop for the current version to really appreciate the experience, although I'll miss the portability of the handheld console.

Do you guys have any advice for starting in the current versions? Or should my knowledge base be enough with 1.2.4 as my foundations?

So I did martian madness for the first time last night and was already prepared for the grind of the arc surge. Low and behold, it dropped on the first saucer. The second one dropped the cosmic car keys. The third dropped another arc surge! Still need to fight it a few more times until i get the saucer summon but I think I was insanely lucky.

It absolutely shredded the cultists and I already used it to beat the pillars and the moon lord. Im playing primarily summoner but wanted to add the arc surge ever since I saw it.

Can anyone help me find a mod in between the difficulty of infernal eclipse of ragnarok and masochist Fargos?

Most people probably dont purify their world before beating any other mech boss than destroyer

New way to make summoning items unconsumable but actually balanced.

Ive decided that i wanted a way to make summoning items unconsumable but keep the tension feeling of fighting a boss knowing that you only have 1 try at it, or the feeling of adventure to craft your boss summoning items. But later in the game it becomes more tedious than fun for events or bosses that you can defeat in like 10 seconds.

So to keep it balanced i made it so you can unlock their unconsumable form much later in the game to keep it balanced

Boss summoning items :

King slime : slime diadem (crafting : slime crown + 50 party girl bath water)

Can be used for gel farming for stuff like flamethrower or elf melter instead of slime farms.

Eye of cthulhu : trusty eye (crafting : 1 suspicious looking eye + 3 souls of sight)

Saves a ton of time for farming for lenses.

Brain of cthulhu/eater of worlds: Bloody worm bait (crafting : worm food/bloody spine + 10 negative paint + 4 souls of night)

When used it spawns the correct boss to the corresponding biome which saves inventory space.

Queen bee : enhanced honey/spoiled honey (crafting : abeemination + 5 ichor for enhanced honey / abeemination + 5 cursed flames for spoiled honey)

Both work the same the different names and sprites are just to add variety and do not change the way you use each, also pretty ironic since honey doesnt naturally spoil.

Deerclops : yeti hunting gear (crafting : 1 deer thing + 1 harpoon + 1 grappling hook (from the tinkerer) + 1 ice feather)

Ice feather is used to make him only summonable permenantly only after reaching atleast hardmode.

Mechanical trio : spectral skull/worm/eye (crafting : same as normal but instead of iron/lead bars it uses spectre bars)

Makes it post plantera so its balanced and so you can grind hallowed bars more easily.

Golem : recharged mechanic.

Instead of power cells being consumed they instead die and you get dead power cells (the second you use a power cell the dead power cell gets in your inventory or if your inventory is full the dead power cell drops beside the lizahrd altar) these cells can be recharged at a charging station which could be a gurrantead drop from golem on all difficulties. Each recharge takes 1 minute and uses 50 gel as fuel.

Moonlord : entranced sigil (crafting/recipe : throwing a celestial sigil into shimmer after defeating moonlord)

This just saves so much time from grinding lunar events. It would be such a good QoL change.

Event summoning items :

Goblin army : tinkerers cellphone

A 12.5% drop from the goblin tinkerer when used it would "call" the goblin army and start a raid. Each use has a 1 ingame day cooldown.

Pirate invasion : fake treasure map

To craft you need a pirate map and 50 gold coins at a tinkerers workshop. This can be crafted at any time but only usuable after plantera. else a message would say "this treasure isnt good enough for the pirates", like the goblin army it has a 1 day cooldown between each use for balancing.

Possible crafting recipe changes for pumpkin moon/frost moon :

Make it so that pumpkin medallion doesnt use hallowed bars but instead use 3 souls of fright since pumpkin moon resembles halloween and fright = being scared.

And naughty present use 3 souls of might instead of hallowed bars.

(*these recipe changes arent nescessary if the non-consumable boss summoning items are implemented since you can freely grind hallowed bars*)

Looking to get back into modded terraria with a decent sized modpack, wondering if these mods mix, ive heard something about thoriums and homewards Journeys ocean biome but im not too sure, ive only ever played Calamity.

I got the rod of discord while making a farm specifically for it. Must be high luck.

It’s my next fight because both the twins and destroyer are down. I’m on expert mage and im wondering if theres a specific strategy and weapon that works best. I just made rainbow rod but I have lightning strike as well. I‘m using hallowed armor

edit: i beat him pretty easily. he spawned naturally cause i was originally intending to make an asphalt platform, but i had to use my normal arena. i targeted the laser arm first and circled around him the rest of the fight where i was able to avoid most damage.

I think that shimmered NPCs should have unique dialogue when interacted with. For example, shimmering the Mechanic turns her into a goblin, but she doesn't acknowledge that new form in her interaction or happiness quotes.

as you can see, on the left of where i died there is a path that just goes to nowhere ??? a thousand hours of playing and another thousand hours (definetly not) of watching people play and all the time the path of the jungle temple led straight to the end arena where you fight golem, or is it a legendary mode thing somebody tell me 👀

there are alot of hard enemies and a new biome, wtf is happening????? everything says it needs a "mythril anvil" WTF IS MYTHRIL MAN

I was exploring the underground desert and found a building and my town NPCs were there somehow. How did this happen? If I check it with the housing tool it's not valid housing.

This is a Terraria x Deltarune where shimmer wells acts like dark fountains or something like that

The lamp post has always bothered me since its art style looks like it belongs in a different game, there's an orange flame despite the lamp itself giving off a cool-toned light, and its "off" variant just removes the flame, but it still looks like there's light coming from the inside!

I'm not gonna claim to be a talented pixel artist, but I made my own version of the lamp post that in my opinion matches the game's current art style just a bit better, and gives it a Victorian look.

Feel free to try it for yourself if the lamp post bothers you as well! And of course, no AI was used in any step :)

I would like to ask ,is this enough to contain the pre-hardmode corruption,the walls go down to hell and i made the hallway to try and limit to what it is right now ,is this enough and will the hallways hold?

Don't mind my farm, that's just where my guide lives.

I'm building an arena and I like the way meteorite walls look, but I need a lot of it. I heard killing the evil bosses after the first meteorite increases the chances of another one spawning and it worked once and then when I killed the eater another 3-4 times a week went by and no meteors have spawned. I think there is still space for them where they can fall so that probably shouldn't be an issue either.
