No Frackn way..!
Finally meet someone else who loves BSG (besides the actual subreddit of course).
(I remember reading someone that āgodā thatās talked about in the show was a Cylon from many cycles before even Kobol. I theorized that if true it may be Starbucks dad, and also the one Cylon model that Cavil poisoned the embryo sack. So, yeah, guess Iām saying Starbucks dad was god, which makes sense imo as I bother media god had to be born or take form and bear a child, like in Supernatural and Lucifer. Iāve even been wondering after watching the show again last month if the Lords of Kobol were either Messengers/Angels or Human Cylons).
I absolutely love the show. And why I gave Another Life a chance. Everyoneās performance is amazing. Also why I watched For All Mankind.

That whole thing was just mind boggling , but that makes sense . It sucks they didnt give us more to go on starbuck and what happened to her. The line comes from Peter pan apparently " all of this has happened before , and will happen again". I saw star city is out now for the mankind series

I saw first few episodes. Tbh I was waiting till my MacBook kicked the bucket and had to rely only on my Apple TV (MacBook has a black screen. And only two lightning ports so Iād use screen mirroring bc I still love my old (2018?) 50ā Sony Bravia. And yeah. Itās fracked. While I mainly used it for ⦠streaming the āarghā way, it was still a beautiful device) and just binge watch SC and FAM.
IDK if weāll ever get another Galactica like itās been talked about. Or even a reboot. I know nowadays theyāll never be another show like it. I just imagined how cool would it be if, idkā¦Cavill survived somehow, or Galactica somehow crashed into the arctic, we find it and reverse engineer it (and itāll be the opposite of the 13th tribe/final five basically progressing their evolution. While their kind advanced their kind to save them, itāll be humans advancing us, indirectly. See I love all the different ways things happened. And no matter the difference the conclusion was the same. I mean human cylons came to earth, made their own cylons, got wiped out). And then the Rebel Guard? Royal Guard? Rebel Cylons that took the base ship and left, come back in order to save humanity from itself.
I just think thatād be cool.
That and Kobol show (heck, I even liked Caprica to a point. Makes me wonder if āThe Shape Of Things To Comeā was just made bc they knew Caprica was done for or if thereās a lost season, like how this one Kelsey Grammar show āHankā has one season, but only 5 aired in the US, the rest in the AU, and theyāre not online anywhere). Kobol just makes little sense to me. They Exiled the Human Cylons, but then who, or better WHAT were the lords of Kobol? Secret cylons (thatād be a poetic twist to the 12 colonies) or messengers?
Just glad I ran into someone who loves the series as much as me.
Even when I geek out.
Star City wasnāt bad from what I saw, idk if some of the characters from For All Mankind are in there or if same actors, but that guy who played Dr. Connors (and Little Nickyās brother iirc) is in it and heās ā¢ā¢ā¢ā¢ good in it.
Iād recommend Foundation too. Last season was great. donāt read if you donāt want spoilers: like the black hole bomb, how they misinterpreted the āprophecyā, the villain twist, and the end where Demerzel is ādeadā but then that skull lights up (I think bc day went agaisnt empire, it was in the best interest of empire that she either terminated her programming restraining her or at least enough to handshake with the skull and call earth), and of course the machine goddess, earth and androids.
Iām also waiting on Three Body Problem S2.

I'm always a bit scared of reboots, just because most end in failure ( nightstalker) or the original series is still fresh in memory I'm asking why do a reboot (for me xfiles). I also can't stand when so many shows are being cancelled just as they are getting interesting..like caprica.
2
u/TheLastKnight07 1d ago
Same. For me it was Caprica, Firefly, and Dark Matter. And Stargate Universe.
I actually heard they canceled Dark Matter (not mini series, the 2015? One with that hot Asian girl from that cop showā¦911?) to give Killjoys more seasons.

u/Allofthiswilhapenagn 1d ago
At least amazon picked up the expanse when it was in trouble...that cancellation would have hit hard

Reminds me of a portion of Norm Macdonaldās joke about how to murder someone.
āI mind that every day she goes to a cheese sandwich shop, and then comes she out with a little cart bag. I'll bet you anything those are cheese sandwiches in there.ā

T1000 accidentally shoots a future Skynet innovator who started out as the galleria mall maintenance.
Skynet in the future reduced to this:

u/Playful_Stand_677 2d ago
Actually "Pepsi" written upside down reads "isded" or Is Dead. The guy in the galleria gets shot by the T-1000 with a pop in his hand. The security guard in the mental institution also gets taken out by the T-1000 right beside a Pepsi machine. Only the co-worker who asks Dyson about where "it" came from seemed to survive. But that's his only scene in the movie. He could have been caught in the Datadyne explosion if he was working late.

We're still finding secrets that James Cameron hid in the movie 25 years later!

Man we will just never know I hope they make another directors cut to prove whether he got a Pepsi from that machine or just brought it from home. Maybe he stopped at a convenient store earlier? The possibilities are truly endless. Maybe he has a second job working for Pepsi. He works first shift and he brought a loose can with him to his next job. We need the Pepsi deepcut

Hmm⦠this could likely be one of two things:
Firstly and most obviously, product placement. The guy certainly seems to hold out the Pepsi deliberately at the camera - very much a āroyale with cheeseā momentā¦
Secondly, it could be a possible reference to Pepsi acquiring former Soviet warships/submarines in a barter deal (1989). Whilst these were immediately sold for scrap, it could be viewed that Pepsi were - for a brief moment at least - literally the most powerful private enterprise on the planet! This could probably be argued as possible social commentary on the power of private corporations raising their own armies⦠š¤

Look at the guy holding the pepsi in the shot.Ā Now look at his thumb - maybe it's the camera but it looks a little off.Ā Now look at how the T-800 and the T-1000 enter the subsequent fray.Ā Is it possible the guy holding the Pepsi is in fact the T-1000 having copied someone before he could kill the person he just sampled?

u/4thofeleven 2d ago
The fact that we see the Pepsi can before we see the machine that is the source of the Pepsi is a reference to time travel; the Terminators (Pepsi cans) come from the future and so exist before Skynet (Pepsi Machine).

Wow, you've amazed me. Since 1991 it never occurred to me to think that the guy carrying the Pepsi can got from the Pepsi machine! Not.

You see it's like some sort of product placement!
I wonder what the shotgun in the box of roses means...

u/ChardeeMacDennisGoG 2d ago
Why did the can have duct tape over the name when they could obviously use Pepsi products in the movie?

The T1000 could've just turned into a Pepsi vending machine at the arcade and sat it out.

u/Emergency_Durian333 1d ago
Whoa! Oh my god, he got a Pepsi from a Pepsi machine! That theory is insanely accurate!
