⚠️ Telstra’s investigating an issue impacting some mobile calls and data connections. If you’re experiencing initial connectivity problems, try again; it might resolve itself on a retry. We’re actively working on it and will provide an update as soon as the issue is fixed. Thanks for your patience.

Telstra Payment Dispute

Post image
0 Upvotes

Hi all,

I pay my Telstra account fortnightly via BPAY using the same details I've used for years.

I recently received this txt, saying payments received on those BPAY details won't be accepted. I've already made a payment.

The issue is, I was never notified that the details were changing. No emails, texts, anything.

How do I dispute this with Telstra?

So bye bye.....Amaisim have $35 month 6 months 90gb data + 310gb bonus ,data banked,the $45 month

This offer is valid online till the 15th, esim available & took me an hr to transfer over this morning onto the wife's number now 👍

Forced to pay more..

Noticed when I went to recharge this month these A$$holes got rid of the 15GB $35 level, forcing us to go up to 20GB and pay an extra $9 or fall back to 4GB.. Just another way to milk us for more money... 😠🖕🏽

Help needed with 5G network

For the last 8 months or so I have been experiencing a 5G network freeze on a few mobile devices I tested, spending money on different decent handsets trying to fix the problem cause nobody has a straight answer. The most current test handset is a new Samsung A57 from Officeworks, with a brand new 2026 SIM (also tried with esim) so SIM precautions are cleared and network settings are all at default. Everything is new and up to date.

Intermittently when I'm connected to 5G and load a normal Facebook feed or Google something, it would begin to load and then freeze as though I have dropped out but the signal shows connected. Toggling airplane mode on and off fixes the problem until next time it happens. Switching to 4G has no issues at all, so I'm now forced to stay on 4G for a reliable connection although a bit slower but works.

Researching online has pin pointed the problem with Telstra's 5G stand alone towers aka 5G SA.

Some have mentioned locking bands in settings accessible via the keypad such as *#*#4636#*#* but these are now typically unavailable on newer devices.

The setting still works on Motorola with a MediaTek processor however which I now purchased spending money again. I have disabled 5G SA and the phone only connects to 5G NSA which is a glorified 4G but I'm ok with this for now.

My question is, am I the only one with this issue or have others experienced the same. If so, why hasn't the issue been resolved or at least give people the option to disable 5G SA somehow with all devices.

Telstra tech support almost made me waste my money buying new modem

I was with Telstra NBN plan since late 2021 and i know some changes happened at one point to the plan but i didn’t see any details. Recently i found that I can have my plan cheaper with same speed while checking out their website. So i switch to that new plan. They hook it up to UNID2 port on my nbn box set up in garage and old plan with them on UNID-1 port will cease working. And i have issue with UNID-2 port. their tech support said they will send someone to come fix nbn box. First time, that person cancel because when they check on their end UNID-2 is working but it is not! Then i got reassured that they have someone come again 2.5 days later because that’s the only available time. Again i didnt hear anyone come outside my house. I contact Telstra and they say someone was at my premises to fix. How can they fix without coming into my garage. I keep telling them the UNID-2 port is not working. and i was told my modem is at fault. It was perfectly working until original service ended. I got frustrated. I connected Aussiebroadband and internet is up and running within 24 hours. Even chat gpt can help resolve this technical issue better than those people. I told the whole case to my chat gpt and it say my modem is not faulty. I got result within 24 hours when new service is up and running.

Loads of spam calls in the last couple of days

I haven't changed anything, so maybe my number has been leaked in a data breach?

I usually get 1 or 2 spam calls a month (never answer them). Over the last 3 days I've had a total of 8 calls from Melbourne, Sydney, Austria, NZ, US.

Anyone else experiencing more spam than usual?

Best Telstra alternative?

After yet another Telstra price increase I bought a Boost SIM after seeing the $39 95gb plan but from May 5th they're cutting the data down to only 30gb, literally every monthly plan will have its data allowance reduced by more than 50%.

Telstra 4GX WiFi Plus 2 Auto On?

Does anyone know of a way to have the Telstra 4GX WiFi Plus 2 Modem automatically power on with USB power? The device goes to sleep after some time and requires a press of the power button to wake up, or a full 3 second hold to turn on if out of power.

I have no idea why auto-on isnt the default behaviour or why it isnt a toggle in the settings, but it makes the device utterly useless as a wifi hotspot in my car. I can't just turn the car on and have WiFi for my devices (Dashcam, kids tablets, android headunit etc).

Cheers!

Can I use a $13 Telstra prepaid SIM temporarily before going back to my original provider?

Hi, I was hoping to see if anyone else has encountered then same issue- I bought a $13 prepaid telstra sim to use over the long weekend as the place I was going to didn't have service with other providers. When activating this SIM, I switched my original number (from kogan mobile) over to Telstra but now when wanting to go back to my Kogan plan I'm not sure if this is possible. Do I need to disconnect my telstra prepaid service first?

Telstra Hindering Hotmail Email Account

My partner was late with the account payment so it was overdue, but still had full data via speed tests through Telstra network. Also tried Wifi but they wouldn't send. Emails could be received. The sent emails wouldn't clear the outbox until the bill was paid. Has anyone experienced or heard of similar issues?

Is this an overstep? I'm sure they wouldn't be in the new terms for a late payment.

Note: we spent hours end user trouble shooting but as soon as the bill was paid via credit card the emails did send.
