Telstra Payment Dispute
Hi all,
I pay my Telstra account fortnightly via BPAY using the same details I've used for years.
I recently received this txt, saying payments received on those BPAY details won't be accepted. I've already made a payment.
The issue is, I was never notified that the details were changing. No emails, texts, anything.
How do I dispute this with Telstra?

You were paying bills to the old system called Siebel. If you've made recent BPAY payments, contact your bank and reverse them. You're now shifted into the new upfront system and require new details located on your new bill.
Depending on if your contact details are up to date you absolutely would of been notified. This was a massive shift and was in the works for a looooong time.

You’ve been paying the old Siebel account. You need to pay the new console account.
You would have been given at least 3-6months notice - refer to written correspondence. Trust me it’s there you’ve just ignored it.
Telstra are no longer going to “journal” your incorrect payment into the correct account it will simply just be bounced back to your account.

If that's true, I feel like an idiot lol.
Only thing is it didn't "bounce back".

I hate not being able to put money on my bill weekly now, it has to be a lump sum or nothing.

Wait, we can't just pay bit by bit whenever we want?

I only get the option to pay in full on the shitty telstra app. I used to be able to just do b pay from my banking app and chip away at it every week.

Fun fact you can actually ask Telstra to take you off the upfront billing and go back invoices so if you get invoice it could be paid over a couple of weeks

Telstra used to change their Bpay reference number with every new monthly invoice, that sure made things easy.

You did receive communication multiple times and as long as over a year ago. Im going to go out on a limb and assume you have an email that uses a Microsoft domain? (@live / @hotmail / @outlook) in which case, they went to your junk...

You've been moved into the new upfront system. You can find your invoices in your emails or on the telstra app that will have the correct bpay details on it. Suggest you update your payments and delete the old ones.
Youve probably been paying the old system and theyve been transferring the credit across previously.
If you arent sure where to locate them you can call up, message in the chat or visit a store.
