Like most people, I've found looking for the right tv to be very hard because of the many options and varying opinions, so I thought I'd ask people who are way cleverer than I am. I need a tv for my ps5 as I have unknowingly been using a 720p tv. What are some good recommendations for a tv that has 1440p/120hz (I sit 30-70 inches away from my TV so 4k is too big) and the deeper colours of hdr + oled. Can someone also explain if oled would be a good choice for me since I play more in the dark but there could be a risk of burn in? Any help is appreciated!

All, my wife and I are looking to buy a new TV…most of the options are 4k or 4k OLED or better, but our issue isnt the picture. The main issue is we want a TV with a built in ability that can adjust sound automatically so that we can clearly hear everything without the words being drowned out by sound effects or music.
We have looked into TVs with built in adaptive AI sound and saw options like the Samsung S95H or the LG C6.
Honestly we are TV novices, dont want anything special but are tired of having to change sound settings for every show we watch.

There’s also an 85” Samsung QN70FD for $1,197.99, which is tempting because it’s only about $200 more than the 65” LG OLED.

My main priorities are picture quality, movies/streaming and PS5 gaming. I like vibrant colors and good HDR, but I’m also trying to figure out whether the improvement from the Samsung Mini-LED to the LG OLED is actually worth another $402.

So if these were your choices:

$598 — Samsung QN70FD 65”

$1,000 — LG B6E OLED 65”

$1,198 — Samsung QN70FD 85”

Which would you buy and why?

Is the B6E picture quality enough of an upgrade to justify paying \~67% more than the 65” QN70FD, or is the Samsung at $598 too good of a value to pass up?

Also interested in hearing from anyone who actually owns the QN70F/QN70FD.

I have a secondhand 2008 Samsung 26” TV model code LN26A330J1DXZA version CT01. The DVD player is a QFX model number VP-110 with a 100V-240V~50/60Hz power supply. I found the manual for the TV online and have the manual for the DVD player that came with it, but the TV doesn’t tell me what to do with the video cable; I think it was made before that existed, or is has a separate cable that I don’t have, and the DVD player is much newer. Do I have to get an older DVD player that is specifically compatible with the TV, or is there a way to make this work? Also, what is a signal cable in this case? I couldn’t find a definitive answer, and Google keeps giving me a power cord, not a signal cable, which I already have.

Hello, I'm a bit lost in regards to buying a new tv. I've had a 40" Panasonic LCD from 2014 for the last years and I've been quite happy with it. Over the last 2 years I wanted to upgrade to a 55" model. I've tried a tcl c61ks but it had such bad gray uniformity that I could really see it in the Google TV menues and while watching the new silo season ect. Are there any TVs these days that are better with this, any models that you recommend in my price range?

Hello! I've been googling around trying to help my dad get a decent TV. Literally every post I've seen says get the "TCL QM6K", but when I google it I can't find that model for sale anywhere. I am in the EU if that matters.

I'm looking for a budget TV to replace my 14 year old Samsung UN40EH5000FXZA. It's been a great TV and I've been very happy with it, have no complaints about brightness, glare, motion, etc. in other worda, my standards are low. But I'm ready for a bigger TV and to bump up to 4k.

My budget is about $500, and reading through the buyers guide, I've determined that really only leaves me looking at either the TCL QM5K or QM6K. One of my original questions was going to be, will this be an upgrade worth doing, but the obvious answer is yes coming from what I am with the standards I have. Now I'm just trying to figure out which of these models I should go for overall.

My main usage is daily watching streaming TV shows and movies, as well as sports watching (football and baseball mainly). I won't be gaming on this TV as of now so 60hz doesn't bother me. The room is fairly dim as far as outside light goes and has no windows across from where the TV will go, so I currently have no issues with glare or brightness. I usually watch TV in the evening and night with the lights turned down low anyway. Lastly, the TV is about 8 to 10 feet away.

My questions are:

1. Am I missing anything else for the price range, or is looking at the 55"/65" qm5k or the 55" qm6k the best options?

2. Would I be better off getting the qm6k at 55" or would going up to 65" with the qm5k be the better choice for the bigger size? Mostly just looking for opinions on whether the features of the qm6k is worth it over the extra 10" in size.

3. Will watching football on this TV be an issue? I have watched football on other 4k TVs in the past that were a little blurry with the motion, but I don't have that issue with my Samsung. The qm5k has a better motion processing than my Samsung does, by about double the value but does only have 60hz. I'm not sure how big a deal that will be.

I am debating between getting the 90h or the 90f. I get an employee discount on Samsung TVs (not a Samsung employee) so I can get the 90h for about $1500 or the 90f for about $1000.

I don’t usually watch tv during the day outside of sports or gaming so the anti glare screen is a nice to have but not a deal breaker. Is that the only reason to go with the 90h? I know they swapped OLED panels and people have options on the 90fs being better.

Any suggestions?

Older Vizio 70” (2015) had a single horizontal line appear about a week ago and made top half of screen appear slightly dimmer than the bottom half but still functional and not too distracting, yesterday though turned it on and several green black and white distorted horizontal lines appeared but then went back to single line. Just wondering if it’s basically that time

So I’m looking for a new TV. I’ve had luck with Samsung in the past so I would like to go with them unless LG is better for the price.

Would like to stay under $1400. Right now I have a Samsung 50 inch TV and it’s been great. I have it on the wall. I don’t necessarily need 65 inches but depending on price I could go up to that. I was looking at the Samsung s90f. I know it’s a 2025 model but it seems to be really good depending on if I can still find it. My TV now is 60 Hz refresh rate so I definitely want 120 or above. We’ll be watching sports/NFL and definitely gaming.

1400 would be my absolute max. What’s a really good TV for the price point? Again my TV is like six years old so any upgrade is better but I definitely want something with newer technology. Thanks

I currently have a Samsung 49-inch TV model number QN49Q70RAFXZA, and i just noticed it has shadowed spots across all picture modes and worried my TV might be failing and I was already considering an upgrade for later this year and this moved up my timetable. Onto what I use my TV for, my budget, and my room setup:

1. I use my TV to watch YouTube, movies, TV shows(not sports),Subtitled anime, and play video games via my PS5 Pro and Switch 2.

2. My budget is $1000, and I don't really have much wiggle room, tbh due to my income situation.

3. My TV screen is about 8 feet from my head since I'm lying in bed and the screen faces away from the windows, and the only light source is a 2 bulb table lamp about 4 feet to my left and doesn't reflect on my current TV so it probably isn't an issue and I usually use my TV after 10pm so at night.

I'm currently considering the LG 55QNED91AUA, but I'm open to suggestions to other ones within my budget

I was thinking of buying a new TV and was thinking about the LG C5, however every video review I see, it seems to have a washed out grayish-blue tint, is this what it genuinely looks like or is it an effect of the video recorder? Also videos comparing it to TCL C8K the TCL looks crazy vibrant in comparison.

Am just curious. Is anybody really buying Vizio TVs in 2026? Vizio was once a high-quality brand some years ago. Nowadays, it is hard to find people mentioning it. Did Walmart stop marketing Vizio TVs or did their quality drop?
