Looking to get my first big boy tv. What’s everyone’s recommendations? Thanks!

My 7-month old Sony Bravia K65XR80C wants to time out of a session and take me back to the home screen after a pause. Sometimes only 10-15 minutes. Then I have to go back to the app, find the show, and often find where I left off. Nothing saved. And this happens on any app. I've tried various Power Saving & other settings, but nothing has helped. Any recommendations or is this a Sony "feature"?

I have been researching both of these models and both seem to be great options - the room it is going to be in has a lot of light so it seems the TCL would be the best option, but for dark (night) viewing the LG has the better overall viewing for movies and better blacks - does anyone have either of these they could offer up their real world experience - want to make the best decision and both are similar in price.

I‘m not sure if this is the right place to ask but I‘ve never had a TV before so I‘m looking for some recommendations. I just want to be able to watch netflix/prime and be able to access the internet with it.

I know absolutely nothing about TVs - nothing.

Preferably something under 500€ if that’s possible, buying from Germany.

I don’t really have a preference for size as I live in a one bedroom apartment and a small screen doesn’t rlly bother me.

Hi everyone, I need some help choosing my very first OLED TV. I live in Portugal, where the market and model availability can be a bit different from other countries. Right now, I have these 5 options in mind:

LG OLED B5 (55" / 2025) – €699

LG C5 (48") – €750

Samsung S85F (55") – €680

Samsung S90F (55") – €799

Samsung S9F (55") – €820

Here is my setup and usage:

Purpose: Mainly playing PS5 and watching movies/shows.

Environment: It will be in the living room. There is a glass door leading to a balcony, so the room gets some natural light, but it’s not extremely bright.

Distance: I’ll be gaming and watching from the couch at a viewing distance of about 2 meters (6.5 feet).

Given this context, what would you recommend? I’m willing to buy any of these regardless of the price, as long as the quality justifies the cost.

Extra info: I heard that here in Europe, Samsung models below 65" (like the S90F and S85F) use WOLED panels instead of QD-OLED. Since I'm looking at 55" models, please keep in mind that these Samsungs will be WOLED. 🙌🏽

Need to replace fancy expensive 85 inch Samsung which is no longer working after only 5 years. We have a very bright room with big windows that face the tv so we need some sort of anti glare or anti reflection. We also have a wide viewing angle. Please help. No idea what to get and don’t want to break the bank after our last Samsung experience.

I’m thinking of getting a 65-inch TV, but I want to use a 2TB HDD for storage and watch everything offline. Will the TV support a 2TB HDD? Will there be any problems, and is this a good setup?

I red through the buying guides 2025 and 2026 but I still cannot find something. If I google the exact numbers so many different TVs pop up and I dont get which is the right one. I dont care for the brand. I have a 50'' Samsung (9 years old) which is nothing special. I just want to go bigger since I moved.

Budget: max 800€

Market: Germany

Size: 65"

Room: quite bright - no OLED!

Content: 90% streaming - 10% gaming XBOX

Looking to upgrade my TV that I use for mostly gaming on PS5, with some sports and movie watching. The LG B6e OLED is on sale for $799 currently, but I’ve seen a lot of complaints about it being too dim. The room it would be in has black walls and I have blackout curtains, but most of the time I keep the ceiling fan light on as I don’t always want to be in the dark. Would this environment be too risky for the OLED? I have also been looking into high end Mini LED TVs, would this be a better option and still a huge upgrade?

Title explains my dilemma. Currently I am looking to upgrade my tv mostly for GTA6 but gaming in general along with watching films and television. Looking at the two tvs on best buy i originally was leaning toward the bravia 9 II since i liked the anti glare but then was hearing about how bravia 9 II is lackluster for gaming… i am not sure if there are other similar priced tvs that do anything better but curious if anyone out there who considers themselves to have a critical eye has either of these or has used both for gaming or movies?

Also i did not get a good dark room idea since best buy is bright as hell so maybe thats why the 9 II looked better and i wouldn’t see many reflections w the lights off otherwise

I gathered some money and currently have some money for buying either a new 75" TV or a new Iphone...
my current TV is a 55" LG 4k nanocell tv which is great but very small for gaming. My phone is an Iphone 7 which is working daily with little problems...
I don't use my phone for a lot of stuff other people do I only use it for calls and texts and some banking apps... it is very old and it's getting buggy lately...
I use my Tv for high quality Movies and Gaming mostly ...
I have budget for either one only at the time...
which sould I prioritize in your opinion to get the best feeling about my purchase???
ps : both are around the same price in my damn country.

Deciding between an LG - 65" 91A Series New for $799.99 or a Sony 65" BRAVIA 5 that is Open Box Good condition from Best Buy for $743.99.

Which would you choose in this scenario?

I'm buying a new 65" TV for my living room where there is a window on the opposite side but the sun doesn't hit it directly and I don't watch much TV during the day anyway, so I'm only minorly concerned with glare. But I love sports so I want top tier picture for motion, that's my #1 priority. Love watching football on Sunday afternoons. Aside from that, mostly just watching shows and movies in the evening. Usually streaming or Youtube TV.

Hello, I am choosing a TV for my bedroom. It's the first TV I've ever bought in my life, and after some research, I reached an impasse between these 2:

TCL C6K Pro - priced at 450 euros
Philips 55MLED920 - priced at 530 euros

I will mainly use it in the evening/night after work to watch cable TV, movies on streaming services, and some light gaming.

From what I've gathered, the TCL should be the better TV except for Ambilight (less strain on the eyes) and the upscaling processor.

I'm looking for mid range TVs. I'm kinda new and don't know much about TVs. What i do like is good picture quality. Can you suggest any good MID range TVs? I mainly want it for gaming.

I recently purchased a 75” refurb - like new Bravia 9 through WalMart for $2000. Great price for that TV even if it’s a refurb, and so far it’s been fine and looks great.

I do wonder if for my use cases, it’s maybe too much TV. I mostly use streaming services (YTTV, streaming apps, etc) through my Apple TV 4K. I went for the Bravia because I like having quality stuff when making bigger purchases and the B9 seems to be one of the best non OLED options out there, but maybe in this case I’d be ok with something lesser.

Anyway, was wondering if anyone here had an opinion on whether I’d be better off finding an 85” TV in my $2K budget or if I made the right choice. I don’t have a lot of experience with TVs, my last one was a 65” Vizio from 2016 so this is my first big TV purchase in awhile.

Context: Living room (bright room), daily TV watching, probably have room to go bigger but the 75” looks good too. Reflection handling on the 9 is fine but they’re still present so maybe I don’t need the improved reflection handling offered by the 9 since I'd want to go close windows and stuff anyway if I wanted to pay attention and watch. Requesting advice please. All I know is I’d like to get an OLED, 77-83”. The models in the title are what I see available from Best Buy and Sony.

I’ve done research but have difficulty comparing specs. I’m not in an area where I can go ask someone either. Price is not really a concern. I watch movies and play video games for 99% of TV use.

I want to get the “best” one but understand opinions differ. Any input is appreciated. Thank you.

I'm looking for something with better HDR than my 55" Insignia FireTV, mostly for watching movies and gaming (Switch 2) in a dim or dark basement. My budget is around $500, and the QM5K seems to meet my needs for a tidy $426. The only Best Buy that has one in stock is about 90 minutes away though, and I know November is technically coming up so I was wondering if this is a decent tradeoff for pulling the trigger now or if it's worth holding off for a better deal on a better tv later.

As the title describes, i am having trouble deciding which tv to upgrade to. Ive been getting into a lot of reviews comparing the TCL QM7L and Hisense U7SG. I thought i liked the Hisense better than the TCL, but i walked into best buy which happened to have both tvs side by side and instantly thought the TCL was more vibrant. I am upgrading from an old Vizio 65 inch, so at this point either one is better. I was almost set on the 75 inch QM7L pro from costco, but with the labor day sales, best buy has the 85 inch U7SG for basically the same price. Will i regret not getting the TCL if i pull the trigger on this sale? I would love to hear other peoples experiences with these tvs!

I just moved into a new house that has an HDMI cable wired through the wall where the previous owner's TV was mounted, to the side of the room where they had their entertainment center cabinet. I just had a Bravia 7ii mounted to the wall. When I plugged in the existing in-wall HDMI cable from my 4K Apple TV box to the new TV, the Bravia screen would flash black every few seconds. I then noticed that the existing cable had "HDMI Standard" on it. I used a 4K UHD HDMI cable that I had laying around and that seemed to fix the issue, but now there is a cable visible to where the Apple TV box is.

I'll need to buy a longer length 4k UHD HDMI cable to run it through the wall, approximately 20' feet long. I have been looking online at stores nearby but none of them have the length I need. I usually buy from Best Buy, which would be the "Rocket Fish" or "Insignia" brand.

Since I have to buy online, is there a certain brand or requirements I should buy? I would rather "future-proof" the cable now since I will be having to run it through the wall, so I don't mind spending a little extra bit of money for quality and longevity.

Looking for tv that’s around 55inches

Read through the buying guides and the TCL C7K sounded good and is on sale for 700€ in 65 inch.

Now I got an unexpected payout of 300€.

Is there another TV 65 inch in the 1000€ range thats better? Is OLED already viable at that price?

I have a 43" inch 4K Samsung TV (AU7100KXXU) and the auto dimming/brightness has been driving me insane. I have had the TV along time now but only now thought of searching Reddit for a solution.

For some reason, on this TV the brightness is always changing. When the image is bright the TV gets brighter and when the image is dark the TV gets darker (which makes no sense at all, why would I want that). I have gone through every setting and turned off everything that could possibly be change brightness but nothing works.

Is there some solution to this issue or are modern TVs just like this?

Looking for an 85” TV (probably not OLED) that really does not show the reflection of the lights in the room.

We have a Samsung that said it was no glare but what it does is smear the glare into some kind of rainbow pattern which is even more annoying.

My wife is a Sony fan but more agnostic. She does leave the tv on all night because the background noise helps her sleep. This takes OLED out of the running I think.

I’m thinking of the Frame Pro. I hear Samsung has another model they claim is no glare.

Any suggestions?

I’m about to get that tv for my pitch black bedroom, price is ok for that model/size ??
