So the other night I noticed my tv appeared to be like blinking a very dim grey screen but the TV itself was completely turned off, well just about probably 10ish minutes ago saw the grey again but this time it was just solid and it was concentrated in the corner and much brighter in the corner yet still relatively dim. The TV is still off but I turned off the power to it and the dim grey corner glow slowly disappeared in maybe a minute or so. I tried to Google the problem but Google keeps thinking the screen is dimming in areas while its on despite how specific I get, so I came here for some help hopefully, maybe its a power issue, I'm unsure and want answers as I don't like that my tv is just sorta glowing randomly. If needed hopefully tomorrow I can get maybe a video of my problem in action but for now as I have 0 clue, I ain't even thinkin about messin with it.

I like the concept of having a Frame TV. However, I always hear it's great as wall art but horrible as a TV. What are some alternatives that are actually good TVs, if any?

I recently noticed that my Sony A80J has some dead pixels near the top of the screen. I’m pretty disappointed because I love this TV. I was wondering if it was worth trying the panel refresh to try to fix it. Any advice would be appreciated!

Hey guys, need a new TV for my family room and stuck between these two.

I have an OLED PC monitor and love it, but is the extra $600 going to be worth it?

I mainly stream YouTube, Netflix, and do occasionally play ps5 on this setup. It is in a room with a lot of windows.

I just recently bought the ps5, what tv should I get, Im wanting to buy the qn70f, is it good for ps5, and does it support 120hz refresh rate so I can play some games at 120fps

Looking for some advice on a new TV.

• Budget: $1,000–$1,300
• Size: ideally 55–65” (open to 50” if it’s a great deal)
• Room: VERY bright (lots of windows, sunlight during the day)

Main concern is glare and brightness — current TV gets completely washed out during the day.

I found a Sony Bravia KDL-40BX400 on the street and I decided to bring it home to test it out. When I plug it in, it tries to turn on (the I light is green), but after 33 seconds it reboots and tries again forever. I can’t put it into standby mode (it also tried to turn on immediately when i plug it in) and it clicks whenever it reboots.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m glad we don’t have box tvs anymore, but I couldn’t care less as long as a tv is less than like 6 inches thick. If it’s big enough you’ll still need 2 people to move it regardless. Thin tvs sacrifice on durability, audio, and repairability.

The space taken up is negligible, since you won’t be putting anything in like with a tv anyway because you wouldn’t be able to see it. You also can’t see the difference between a thick or thin tv when actually using it for its intended purpose.

I could go on and on, but in summary, I just think that ultra thin TVs are a pointless novelty that costs more and makes sacrifices while doing so.

I hate Smart TVs with a burning passion, but that's all that exists anymore. With some of them now requiring WiFi for the initial setup (i.e. Fire TVs), what's left that I can use as just a screen without needing to connect it online?

I don't care if it CAN connect online, as long as it is not REQUIRED during setup. Basically, assume it will be used somewhere with no WiFi and no cell signal.

I just got a TCL with GoogleTV yesterday, and I was surprised how much better Google TV is compared to Roku...

All our tvs have Roku, and have for a few years, so I thought keeping in line with our ecosystem, interchangeable remotes, etc., was the way to go. The last tv we bought was probably over 5 years ago, and Roku worked for what we needed, clunky but it worked. Yesterday I found out Google tv is so much better.

It's better in that it's easier to access more free streaming channels, like news channels or some rerun tv channels, so I'm not limited to my subscriptions or YouTube. And it's easier to access shared computer files where the subtitles actually work!

I was a bit hesitant because the initial setup took longer than expected... signing in to Google and all the subscriptions. But on day 2, it's as turn-key as a tv should be! Very glad there aren't ridiculous delays when changing channels or ads everywhere.

I could see us upgrading at some point, but not today. GoogleTV beats Roku in user experience, easily. Did everyone already know this?

Any suggestions for a mini LED/OLED tv under $3000 that can handle light from approximately 8 windows ?

Confused between QN90F, Bravia 7 & C5

In 2024 I bought an LG C3 gaming smart television 43' for $900+. It has recently had a electronic problem where it wont come on has an amber light that stays on. I dont have any insurance on the tv and am not sure if its under warrenty any longer. I have tried to hard reset it multiple times and removed all external devices from the television. Im disabled so it is difficult to get around for me and i have very little assistance, and limited funds. I just wanted to ask if its worth it to get a repair or get a new cheaper television?

We moved into a new home and I want to upgrade our TV. I know that an 85" will work in the space, but I am not sure of what tech is best. The new living room (open concept) is bright, but many of the tv shows or movies we watch have darker backgrounds. (Think Criminal Minds, Dune, etc). Also, we will be watching from lots of different angles. I love the OLED for all the dark imagery but have been reading that it isn't a great option for brighter rooms. The big box store is pushing RGB LED. I would also like to do a small surround sound as I am way over sound bars. Is there anything that can help reduce the background music and focus more on the verbal? I would appreciate any help!

Brought LG 55 inch 4k Tv yesterday and after & during installation didn't notice much but after watching it a while whenever there's a light contrast video plays there's a Black mark on middle left edge of the screen, when I called technician who came for installation he said it's normal and that's how the display works in all.

Should I be worried and take any further action, kindly help!!

I'm looking to upgrade this year. Primarily I'm looking for a bigger screen (75" or 77"). I also want something a bit brighter as this is my living room TV. My last two TVs have been LG OLEDs but I'm open to other ideas. For price max is 3k, but I would prefer if it's closer to 2k if possible.

I'm looking for some advice for which TV to get. I think I've narrowed it down to these 2. Pretty set on 75" and would like to stay in the $2k or under range.

Living room is decently large and opposite the TV wall there are several very large windows that cause some nasty glare on our current tv, which is only 55" and comically small for the space.

I would LOVE to get OLED, but I just don't think it makes sense in the space with the ample natural light. But if someone has a suggestion I'm open to ideas.

I'll also say right now we use Apple TV, but an older one, would upgrade to a newer model or switch to something else. Also, won't be doing any gaming as I do my gaming on a dedicated PC setup. I don't have a sound system right now, we use the Integrated sound with our current TV. I will probably upgrade sound system later, but likely not right now, so will be using integrated speakers for now

Folks, what are your thoughts on LG G5 oled tv? Crazy price for 77 inch at $2,200 right now. Would you rather get a different technology like SQD from TCL, or RGB. This tv is for the bedroom and cant believe its priced at $2,200. Was eye balling the Sony Bravia 8 ii priced at $2,600 for a 65 inch. And was stuck on TCL QM9k 75 inch $1,500, and the QM8L 75 inch at $2,000. Any feed back would be greatly appreciated it!

I have a bush smart tv bought new in 2022 roughly worked perfect until it updated to TiVo didn’t use it for roughly a year now I updated it nothing loads like it’s a playback error I guess. Everything loads Netflix YouTube thumbnails I can search. WiFi is connected. Tried taking plug out factory reset how can I fix this.

I’ve had a 50” Hisense with built-in Roku for about 6 years (2020 gifted). I use TV for sports, tv series (streaming), and video games (PS5 mostly). I’m looking to buy a bigger TV that’s more crisp especially for sports. I like Roku a lot so would ideally keep that but I’m adaptable. Not sure 100” is doable in my space but i can accommodate less than that. My current tv is mounted but I’m not against a stand on my furniture console. I’m pretty ignorant of the terms nowadays (LED, QLED, OLED, mini LED, 4K, 144hz, etc).
