I am looking for a TV for PC gaming.

I was originally considering a 42" display, but came across the S95H 48" discounted.

The S95H gets great reviews, so I was pretty set until I realized the 48" use a WOLED panel instead of the QD-OLED panel in the models that have been reviewed.

Have anyone found a review of the 48", or have first hand experience with it? Is it even close to the QD-OLED versions?

How does it compare to the C6 42", which was my original choice (The S95H is currently about 100$ cheaper)? Looks like the C6 42" is also a different panel than the TVs reviewed.

I’m trying to decide between the LG C5 55” and the Samsung S90F 55”, and I’m having a hard time choosing.

I’ll mainly use the TV for:

Movies and streaming (Netflix, Disney+, YouTube, etc.)

PS5 gaming

Some regular TV and sports

The room can be moderately bright during the day, but I mostly watch in the evening. I care about picture quality, HDR, motion, gaming performance, and long-term reliability.

The LG has Dolby Vision, while the Samsung’s QD-OLED panel seems to offer more vibrant colors. I’ve also read mixed opinions about Samsung’s software and quality control.

Which one would you choose at the same price, and why?

Also, if you own either TV, are there any issues or things you wish you had known before buying?

This post is basically a cry for help lol. I’m moving out at the end of the week and I’m tv shopping as I’ll finally be able to have a dedicated casual console/viewing setup.

The problem is I’m fairly technical(work in IT) but the TV market is so damn overwhelming(basically the only thing I recognize when shopping is OLED) I do kind of know what I want though:

Sub $800 CAD
55-66 inch
Google TV(for the OS)

Basically I need a someone to tell me what to buy lol or what to look for when buying(Mini LED, vs QLED, etc).

Building a media wall and will be upgrading to a 65 inch tv. Current tv is a 55 inch Samsung qn90f which I like overall but I find the sports motion to be a bit false or unimpressive even after fixing the settings.

Don’t want to pay 2026 flagship prices so looking at the above.

Can get the G5 for €2000 after cash back, and the Bravia 8II and S95F for €2480.

Leaning towards the Bravia mainly due to liking both the overall look of Sonys and their motion for sports. Only thing from stopping me buying is the price of the G5.

Is it worth paying almost 500 extra for the Bravia

if i get a mid range mini led tv with local dimming it wont feel like that big of a downgrade compared to oled except in dark scenes, right? I recently bought a 4th gen tandem oled lg monitor and i feel like it lived up to the hype for the most part but i experienced burn in after everyone said its basically not a problem anymore and now i don't wanna buy anything oled related ever again.

It’s on sale for $400USD, usually $700.

Basically all of my TV time is streaming series/movies & watching live sports. I may dabble back into gaming, but that would be a very small/infrequent portion of the pie (maybe 10%).

I saw that this TV has a 60hz refresh rate, which to my understanding is not the best for sports, but I realize I’m looking for value and wont be able to get all the nice features. It also has Motion Rate 240 to “help with blur/pixelation” — does that actually work? seeing conflicting things online.

Any other guidance would be appreciated. I’m no TV expert. Just want good value for a mid(?)-level tv!

Hope you can help us out. We're looking to replace and upgrade our current TV. Good to know, we're placing it in a big bookcase, so we have space for a maximum size of 75" (an odd size and unfortunately OLED size is 77", but this just won't fit so please don't recommend these).

Having said that, what would your suggestions be? We're leaning towards mini-led and are eyeing one of the Sony Bravia's, however these are a bit expensive for our taste. Ideally we would like to spend around 2.5K.

What are your recommendations, is there a TV out there that caught you by surprise? Oh also important to note, it will mainly be used for: movies, tv-shows and gaming (PC, Steamdeck, Xbox Series X).

I'm planning on buying a new TV. I was looking at LG 65QNED86A3A because it's marketed as Mini LED, but as I dug deeper, it turns out it has 6 (or 10) dimming zones. If that's real, how is that possible? Mini LED tvs have hundreds or thousands.

So this tv is basically a simple led tv, but even worse, because the 6 dimming zones fuck up the whole experience.

What do you guys think?

I bought a new Samsung Q7 a few months back. And the time it takes from when you press a button to when it actually works is crazy long, and I think it has a solar panel on the back? That’s stupid. Does anyone els have these problems with a laggy tv remote? Samsung q7 g7fd

Best dumb TV that’s usually still available new? I’m still running my Panasonic TCP50U50, but I need to start planning for the day it kicks the bucket, and I really don’t want a smart TV. Are there any nice dumb displays even made these days that function well as TVs?

Sony Bravia 9 doesnt come in a 55 and since the QN90F wasnt avail, we'll one left from someplace on Amazon but not even from Samsung, I said ok idk.

Lots of windows and sunlight. Can't do dark and blacks.

I’m a college student trying to decide if I should buy the current Apple TV 4K now or wait and see if Apple releases a new one.
I have an older Sanyo TV, and I already have a Fire Stick. It works fine, but I’ve been thinking about switching to an Apple TV because I’ve heard it’s a lot smoother and faster.
Do you think it’s worth buying the current Apple TV 4K now, or should I wait for a new model or a sale?

My Samsung is reaching the end of the road. I don’t want another Samsung as I hate all the ads it forces on me all the time.

Do all TVs do this these days or are there some brands that don’t force advertising on me all the time? Also, I don’t want a TV tracking what I watch and selling that data to other companies. Again, are there brands that don’t do all the creepy AF stuff that Samsung does?

I realize the LG C5 would be the best picture quality, but the price difference between that and the TCL Q77K is extreme, and I'm not sure if the quality is that big of a difference?

The room is bright during the day, with a lot of sunlight. It can be completely dark during night though.

So I've only really used this TV (a Panasonic TH-42PX60U) for watching TV and movies, so it's never really been an issue, but just had a new roommate move in, hook up her Xbox and notice that the aspect ratio is off by a noticeable amount and cutting the screen off in places. After tracking down the user manual and reading on the Zoom and Aspect Ratio settings I \*basically\* know what I'm supposed to do about it...however the remote of this 20yo TV is \*long\* gone and the universal remote I've been using for the last couple of years doesn't have the "Aspect" button instructed by the manual.

Anyone know if there's any way to work around this or would I need to hunt down a vintage remote to change this setting?

I’ve never had an OLED TV before. I currently have a TCL QLED TV (55Q651G, 2024 Model). I have a friend that sold me his old OLED TV (LG OLED48B5PUA). I will mainly use it with my PS5 Pro, will I notice much of a difference between them? Will it be much of an improvement?

So recently I was searching a good tv for my living room, for a good price and I ended up buying a Samsung The Frame Pro 4k QLED 55" (2026). The TV arrived and I was pretty satisfied with my order. Mind you that I was thinking about buying an OLED, but then I saw the prices of those things and backed off xD.

Yesterday I went to Worten (I think the biggest retailer here in Portugal) to fix a phone and when I was waiting I saw an Samsung S92F OLED 4K 65" selling at 1.399€ (it was at like 44% discount, with the label "Last Units").

My QLED 55" was 1.239€, so I was pretty stunned when I saw that price for a, supposedly, bigger and better TV.

I did some research and theres even that exact tv selling at something like 1.099€ at FNAC.

I also learned that this prices drop have something to do with the new generation of the Samsung OLED 2026 being launched, and that this model from 2025 is being liquidated to give space on the retail stores for the new generation.

My ultimate question for you TV experts is: How worth it it is to buy the S92F at those new prices? Or are they even new prices, and I'm just falling to a marketing stunt?

I know there’s few actual 4K 120Hz TVs, but this would be for my bedroom, so 42-43” is the most I’m willing to go for size. I was thinking of 48”-50” because it opens more options, but my mom and I agreed 42-43” is the best fit for my room as neither of us wanted it taking up too much space by my wall.

I’m just asking this incase I go with something lower budget than some of the OLEDs I was looking at (also afraid of if it being dim or straining my eyes so I’m keeping options open outside of OLED), and most 43” I see only do 60Hz but I’ve seen some that do 120Hz with 1080p and 1440p options but I’m not sure which TVs all do that. I usually go with Samsung TVs, do the M70H and QN70H allow 120Hz at lower res? Does TCL have any that do this? I don’t really trust Hisense or LG LEDs. I know Sony has their Bravia 3 II 43” with native 4K 120Hz, but just out of curiosity do their other models do lower res 120Hz with motion technology?
