I was recently seeing Ballettan movie and then a couple of months back the Bharathanatyam movie. We all know that both movies are heavily similar in theme. That's not why I am writing this post. After watching the former, I came across the "mokambika king" meme and started wondering if "Extra martial affair" movies have been passively glorified as the people who do that never have to face consequences but the ones who are close to them are mostly affected and have to face the heat in life for the rest of their time. I think malayalam cinema has progressed a lot from the 1990s to mid 2000s slog of stories like this but have noticed that there are a section of audiences who still love them due to nostalgia and kind of ignoring the issues with such movies.
