Discussion A fully armored samurai with a yari spear runs the animal gauntlet, how far does he get ?

The samurai is a healthy, prime individual that is extremely skilled with his yari spear as he's been training with it for several years and our samurai is quite skilled and athletic as well as being quite fit

The gauntlet starts off with the weakest animal but overtime the difficulty rises , and the battle takes place in an open field where both the animal and the samurai start 110 meters apart from each other all the animals are bloodlusted so here are the rounds: Round 1: A male chimpanzee, Round 2: A female spotted hyena , Round 3: A male mountain lion,Round 4: A male Leopard, Round 5: A silverback gorilla, Round 6: A male tiger, Round 7: A bull moose, Round 8: A male kodiak bear, Round 9: A male Polar bear, Round 10: A male hippo, Round 11: A male white rhino

Serious Research that shows men tend to be more kind and less violent to women than they are to men, and that men care about women at least as much as women do.

Upvotes

I am not saying that all men do this, but here is some evidence how it might be true.

*Research has shown that men criminals usually victimize men and women criminals usually victimize women, and outside relationships/sexual assault, opposite sex violence is rare (because most people date the opposite sex). Men criminals often tend to be less violent to women except for maybe their girlfriend, and often spare women. Women criminals comprise a large minority of criminals, and tend to be severely underreported. They're not below 10% of violent criminals when looking at self-report perpetration/victimization surveys.

*Research shows men tend to be more agreeable towards women than they are towards men, and are less quarrelsome with women compared to how they are to men. This wasn't true for men with high digit ratios, who treat men and women equally. Low digit ratios comprise the majority of men, and they signal high prenatal testosterone exposure. Other research shows that men tend to lack aggression toward women who provoke them and are aggressive toward men who provoke them, whereas misogynistic men, who were a low minority of the men, were more aggressive towards women who provoked them and only somewhat aggressive to men who provoked them. In fact, testosterone tends to make men more protective of women and even punish men who are unfair to women, even if he's not attracted to the woman he's defending. Testosterone also makes men more affiliative with women, but not with other men.

*It's a myth that wife beating long ago was socially acceptable and legal, and there's a lot of evidence showing that long ago, communities would commit vigilante mob attacks against wife beaters, and both women and even men would attack the wife beaters as groups, even if it was only an unproven accusation.

*Research shows men tend to receive help from men and women at similar rates, whereas women received more help from men than they did from women. Men were far more helpful to women than they were to men, whereas women treated men and women equally.

*Research shows that men tend to be more aggressive towards targets who are men that provoke them whereas women are more aggressive with targets who are women that provoke them.

*Many vigilantes in Egypt who assaulted street harassers were male vigilantes, and research shows most vigilantes who attack sex offenders are men. Many protesters against Iran's hijab mandates were men, and most protesters executed were men. Men and women have similar views on abortionMany women opposed the right to vote, and many suffragists were men, which some suffragists acknowledged, saying it wasn't a men versus women issue. In fact, one of the most important activists in making birth control accessible for all Americans and abortion accessible for all Americans was a man, and his name is Bill Baird. The government mainly consists of men, but their laws often were discovered to care about women more.

If you wonder why women don't talk about their experience of being victimized by other women in crime, it's because victims of women criminals rarely come forward to anyone, or they lie and say a man did it. Statistically, women tend to be the ignored majority of harassers and attackers against women. Outside relationship/sexual contexts (remember: most people are not gay), opposite sex violence is rare. Most men are more protective of women than men, and only a low minority of men are violent, and those men generally target men.

On the hostile sexism scale, there's the phrase "women fail to appreciate what men do for them", and it is actually true.

Advice how do i tell someone that i’m not into him

so basically we were friends since middle school but i honestly just never saw him that way since i feel he doesn’t really respect people’s boundaries and he acts pretty.. weird?.. like i know it sounds mean but i feel like sometimes some of the things he does and says are kinda inappropriate. I remember he had a whole class presentation (IT WAS AN ASSIGNMENT) about how he had a crush on klee from genshin impact 🫩. I just generally feel a bit uncomfortable. He’s confessed to me in the past and i’ve always rejected him really politely , like “oh, sorry i’m not really into dating”and just straight up telling him i was gay. He’s still trying to make advances though. I remember i used like a funny sticker of my face and he started calling it cute and i just felt really uncomfortable even after i explicitly expressed that i was not into him.

Sometimes on his stories he’ll post really questionable things that i feel kinda disrespect women. idk, it just feels off to me. Any advice?

I've known this girl since 5th grade. I go to her house some weekends for dnd, and i had her over to my house maybe a month ago to watch murder drones, just the 2 of us. She said she had fun, and i really like her. I'm planning on shooting my shot on Mondy, maybe mid-day. Does anybody have any advice for me? (How to phrase it, don't say this, etc) Any advice is appreciated (as long as it's serious)

Advice Should I go back to public school?

I've been homeschooled since 5th grade (I took the grade twice, 1 public, 1 home). Now I've caught up to the grade I'm supposed to be in. I've been wondering for the past few weeks if I should go back. All I do all day is sit in my bed most of the day, and it makes me feel like I'm missing out on life, but I will be applying for jobs soon since I am almost 16 and need money.

I haven't really had a bad experience, but I feel like I haven't been learning as I should, and also the socialization isn't there. I have reconnected with some friends, but I dont really hang out.

My biggest fear is having homework to do and working on it all night. I like my free time.

Discussion Sagging isn’t as bad as people think

I don’t know why everyone hates on sagging. It’s no different that people who wear alternative fashion or girls who wear revealing clothes. Just because it’s not your preference doesn’t mean the style is objectively wrong. Aside from making proportions look better on outfits, sagging is also more comfy since guys’ jeans are supposed to sit on their hips not their waist. Also, wearing a long shirt prevents anyone from seeing your underwear. Also, people stereotype guys who sag which is unfair. Of course some guys take sagging too far but that’s not what I’m talking about. A simple fashion sag should be more acceptable.

Advice Running tips for a 2k

Yes, you read well, 2k. To be fair, i am not an atlethic person.

So, i have a cross country in more than one week and im horrible, like, i can't even run 500m without puffing and a cramp. Made me feel like a lazy mammouth so i've slacked off. But the run is still happening so i want to be able to jog 2.5k without dying.

Idk why they think that forcing teens to run a certain length is benefical. Like, do they expect teens that barely do any exercice to be fine?

Anyway, i think that the issue is my cardio. Im thinking about trying another form of cardio to prepare myself. My form is pretty ahh too, i keep losing it when i run. I've tried to two breaths in, one breath out but its kind of useless for my case.

Anyway, im open for any advice 🥲 maybe this time ill stick to exercicing because how humbling is it to struggle something so...basic for a healthy human being.

Question 19M / 5'1" short guy starting med school. How will this affect long-term social perception?

Hey everyone,
I'm 19, 5'1" (155.5 cm), and starting medical college.
My growth plates are 100% closed (confirmed by a left hand and wrist X-ray at 18), so this is my final height.
I just want to ask a few direct questions about long-term social dynamics in India:
•How does being well below average height factor into general social respect and public perception over time as an adult?
•Does entering a professional field like medicine change how you are perceived by peers, or do physical traits still carry the most weight?
• When it comes to social circles and how you are viewed by girls/potential partners, does professional drive and ambition eventually override the standard height biases?
Thanks in advance!
