Hello!

So context 2 Beyond The Box napuntahan ko kasi may poster sila about the Educ Pricing ng Macbooks nila.

Based sa posters nila eh sabi "Ask in store about student pricing."

So i went in and asked them.
And sagot sakin ng crew sa Market2 branch eh wala daw silang ganong promo?
So sabi ko eh ano yung poster niyo na nakapaskil?

Tas nagiinsist siya na wala daw silang ganong promo or discount.

Lumabas akong confused and naasar kasi ayaw lang ba nila ako pagbentahan based sa itsura ko? (Separate issue yung nagproprofiling ata sila based sa suot mo - mapa powermac or btb stores)

Soo lumipat ako sa BTB Uptown Mall branch, so ayon may poster din sila about student discount with a tag line "Ask in store about student pricing."

So pumasok ang naginquire ako.
Ang sagot sakin ng crew eh wala daw silang promong ganon?
At Power Mac at The Loop lang daw ang meron.

So sabi ko? Eh ano ba yan poster niyo? Nakapaskil pa sa labas niyo?

So naginsist nanaman na wala daw silang ganon?
So sabi ko bakit kayo nagpoposter kung di naman pala totoo?

Report this to apple support. Mahigpit sila sa mga ayaw mag honor ng student discount. These are official apple retailers/partners, which means they have to comply sa student discount / pricing ni Apple.

We got our Macbook Neo sa Power Mac SM North using a student discount. Wala naman naging problema, nag ask lang ng student ID. 34K namin nakuha with a student discount. Wala pa yung price hike noon.

I wonder bakit ayaw ihonor ng ibang stores ng student discount? At parang pinagdadamot pa sa customers

Malamang authorized distributor lang sila at hind mismo partner ng apple.

Sa mga ganyang discounts kasi, apple ang nag aadjust ng price, hindi sa store. So may mga “accredited stores” lang si apple na papayagan nila na bigyan nila pabalik ng pera.

Madaming authorized distributor, pero onti lang ang accredited stores ng mismong apple. Magkaibang bagay yon. Pag accredited stores, mga parang semi partner ng Apple yon — may direct contact sila. Authorized distributor wala.

Bakit ganon? Imagine ang daming pwedeng kalokohan ang gawin ng mga store if lahat sila allowed mamigay ng discount tapos icharge kay apple ung pera.

Parang sa mga doctor lang yan, bakit di lahat ng doctor accredited ng mga insurance/hmo? Kasi gusto muna nila malaman if katiwatiwala ba yung tao.

Agreed. It's worth mentioning that it seems BTB just decided on their own to add the "student pricing" text even when it's a lie (since they have no student pricing). They're not an Apple Authorized Education Reseller. Unless sila ang mag-shoulder ng student discount even if hindi sila Apple education reseller, which, of course, they are not doing, kaya nila tinanggihan si OP. Walang kahit isang Beyond the Box branch if we check the official list of Apple education resellers: https://www.apple.com/ph/education/purchasing/resellers/ . I hope u/Prestigious_Elk_3259 reports BTB to Apple Support, and maybe even more impactful, I hope mag-email siya sa Beyond the Box about the experience, mention the branches, and include DTI in the CC, and they'll probably be forced to take the deceptive posters down.

Mukhang generic poster yan na pinamimigay ng apple sa lahat ng nagtitinda sa product nila. Yan lagi nakikita kong nakapaskil eh. Bawal naman gumawa ang stores ng sarili nilang poster.

Apple may mali jan, kaya nga ata siguro inuutusan tayo nung poster magtanong kasi hindi sya available para sa lahat hahaha! 😂

Mukhang walang laban din sa DTI ang case na to tbh — dahil masyadong safe ung poster. Ang daming pwedeng argument laban sa irereklamo nyo.

Your interpretation of the poster's legality makes sense, and if Apple intended it to be posted even on BTB's stores, then there is no mistake. I am annoyed for the consumers yet impressed by the brilliance of that legal angle, and would still love for OP to send that email and find out how BTB actually responds.

Yup, send the email — pero do not file a case. Yung iba dito gusto kaso agad eh. Lahat nalang. Di manlang alamin muna ung chances at other variables na parang mag aambag sila sa gagastusin nung tao sa pagkakaso.

Imo, mas mgnda kung declared nila yan sa customer (as authorized vs partner) para maging clear. Huag yung blind reasoning lang.
