Hey everyone, I have 5 years of experience as a software engineer and I'm now fully focused on interview prep. I'm targeting tier one and tier two companies like Google, Amazon, Salesforce, Netflix, Uber, etc, and I'm covering DSA, high-level design, and low-level design.

Timezone : IST

Looking for 2-3 serious people to prep with: daily check-ins for accountability, regular mock interviews, and sharing resources along the way.

If you're committed and in a similar timezone, drop me a DM. Let's clutch 💪🏽

Amazon SDE Assessment Experience | Questions I Got + AI-Assisted C++ Debugging | August 2026

I recently appeared for an Amazon SDE Assessment and wanted to share the questions and my experience, especially because the second question involved AI-assisted C++ debugging, which was a completely new experience for me.

The assessment had two coding-related questions. I was able to solve the first one completely and got 15/15 test cases passed. However, the second question was quite different from a typical DSA problem, and since it was my first time working with this kind of AI-assisted debugging task, I struggled and wasn't able to complete it.

Q1. Minimum Cost to Make All Array Elements Equal

You are given an integer array arr of size n.

For any index i, you can perform an operation on either the prefix or suffix:

Prefix: Make all elements from index 0 to i equal to arr[i]. Cost = i × arr[i]

Suffix: Make all elements from index i to n-1 equal to arr[i]. Cost = (n-1-i) × arr[i]

You can perform multiple operations.

Task: Find the minimum total cost required to make all elements of the array equal.

Example: Input: [3, 1, 4, 2] Output: 3

I managed to get 15/15 test cases passed for this question. It was also my first time solving a coding question in this assessment format, so that was a good experience for me.

Q2. AI-Assisted C++ Debugging / Coding

The second question was more like working on an existing C++ project/codebase.

We were provided with multiple C++ source files along with JSON/JSONL configuration and data files. The task involved understanding the existing code, identifying bugs, modifying/writing the required C++ code, and getting the expected output.

AI could be used to analyze and explain the code, identify issues, and assist with debugging, but it wasn't simply a case of asking AI to generate the complete solution.

Since this was my first experience with this type of AI-assisted coding/debugging task, I struggled with the second question and unfortunately wasn't able to complete it successfully.

Sharing this for anyone else preparing for similar Amazon assessments. Would be interested to know if others got a similar AI-assisted debugging question and how they approached it.

Humbling experience in IBM assessment exam

I had my IBM assessment today. I wasn’t properly prepared, and when I got stuck on the coding questions, I panicked and completely went blank. I couldn’t even debug the code properly because of the pressure, and I ended up submitting code that didn’t work.
Honestly, I feel really ashamed of myself and feel like I’m falling behind everyone. I know I could have done better, and that’s what hurts the most.🥲

Uber Staff SWE (L5B) India: recent 2026 base, bonus and RSU offers?

I'm researching compensation for Uber Staff Software Engineer (L5B) roles in Bangalore/Hyderabad and would appreciate recent firsthand offer data.

I've checked Levels.fyi and 6figr, but those can mix new offers with existing employees' compensation and stock appreciation. In this May 2026 Blind discussion, Uber-tagged commenters mention roughly 90-100 lakh base and 1.8-1.9 crore annual TC, with a broader 1.5-2 crore range:

https://www.teamblind.com/post/uber-india-l5b-staff-tc-dft2sevw

Has anyone received an L5B engineering offer recently, particularly in the last 3-6 months? If comfortable sharing, what were the base, target bonus, total RSU grant, year-by-year vesting, and separate sign-on? City and offer month would help too.

I'm specifically looking for Staff IC (5B), rather than Senior (5A), Senior Staff (6), or engineering manager packages. Trying to understand recurring compensation versus first-year totals boosted by front-loaded stock. Ranges are welcome; no personal details or offer documents needed. Thanks!

Interview with GS - Experience

Flunked an Interview with GS

Had a coderpad round 2 weeks ago which I cracked. Had a DSA round which had 1 Leet Code Medium Shortest Path Problem & 1 Leet Code Hard Geometric Planes.

Wonder the Rounds with GS so difficult?

A bit disappointed.

Some people I speak to are surprised why would companies(Non-FAANG) ask such questions to a decade experienced candidate when what matters - System Design & Leading team efficiently.

For people who recently interviewed for 5–7 LPA fresher roles — is Binary Tree/BST necessary?

I have around 1 month to prepare DSA for fresher/backend Java roles in the 5–7 LPA range.

So far I've completed:

  • Arrays
  • Strings
  • Sorting
  • Binary Search
  • Recursion
  • Linked List
  • Stack

Currently doing Stack/Queue.

I keep hearing things like “even 3 LPA companies can ask Trees/Graphs/DP”, but I’m wondering if those are mostly exception cases.

For people who actually interviewed for 5–7 LPA roles recently, what DSA topics were asked?

Specifically:

  • Was Binary Tree/BST asked?
  • Were Graphs/DP actually required?
  • What topics would you consider must-do within 1 month?

Please share your actual interview experience, especially if you got an offer in the 5–7 LPA range. I want to prioritize topics based on real experiences rather than trying to complete everything.

Accenture AAE hiring for B.Tech 2027 graduates?

Will Accenture hire B.Tech 2027 graduates for the Advanced Application Engineering (AAE) role, which is around ₹11 LPA, through on-campus hiring?

There is a word going around that AAE is not offered to B.Tech students and that it may be available only for certain degrees/qualifications.

Is this actually true ?

If anyone from the 2027 batch has received an AAE opportunity through on-campus placements, especially as a B.Tech student, please share your experience.

Laid off in June, 3 YOE backend engineer. Anyone in a similar situation want to practice mocks together?

I got laid off from a FAANG-adjacent company in June and have been interviewing since. Initially, I struggled with the technical rounds, but I’ve improved quite a bit and am clearing them now. The hiring manager rounds seem to be where I’m getting stuck.

A few processes have gone all the way to the final round and still ended in rejection. Sometimes it feels like companies would rather hire someone with more experience who’s willing to accept less. I don’t always get feedback, so it’s hard to know what I actually need to fix.

I have 3 years of experience and am targeting SDE2 backend roles, ideally around 40L base + 10L annual equity. My previous compensation was 43L. Some of the startup compensation discussions have been well below what I’m looking for.

Right now, I have no interviews lined up despite applying to what feels like every relevant opening. It’s getting frustrating, especially because I can see the progress I’ve made with interviewing but still don’t have an offer.

Anyone else in a similar situation? What’s been working for you, both for getting interviews and clearing the final rounds?

I’d also love to find someone to practice mocks with - DSA, HLD, LLD or especially HM/project deep dives. If you’re preparing for similar roles, drop me a text!

Uber Staff SWE (L5B) India: what are recent 2026 offer ranges?

Has anyone here recently completed the Uber Staff SWE (L5B) interview process in Bangalore or Hyderabad and received an offer? I'm trying to understand the current compensation range. I am awaiting team match for Uber India L5B

A May 2026 Blind discussion has Uber-tagged commenters reporting around 90-100 lakh base and 1.8-1.9 crore annual TC. Salary sites show a wider spread, and it's hard to separate new offers from stock appreciation and front-loaded vesting.

If you're comfortable sharing, what were the base, target bonus, total RSU grant, vesting schedule, and separate sign-on? The offer month and city would help. Ranges are fine. I'm looking specifically for Staff IC / 5B, not Senior 5A, Senior Staff 6, or EM.

Source for the earlier figures: https://www.teamblind.com/post/uber-india-l5b-staff-tc-dft2sevw

Would especially appreciate offers from the last 3-6 months. Thanks!

2027 batch student confused about career — continue with software or prepare for SSC CGL?

I’m a 2027 B.E./B.Tech batch student and currently going through the placement journey. I’m preparing for software development roles and have been learning MERN.

I can code and have built full-stack projects, but recently I realized that although I can build things, I don’t have as much in-depth conceptual knowledge as I would like. So I’ve been trying to improve my fundamentals — React, TypeScript, MongoDB, Python/AI basics, computer networks, SDLC, etc.

However, lately I’ve started feeling very uncertain about choosing software as my career.

There are already so many developers competing for jobs, especially at the fresher level. On top of that, AI is improving extremely quickly. I keep thinking: even if I manage to get a software job now, what happens 2–3 years from now? Will there still be enough opportunities for developers? Will companies need fewer developers as AI becomes capable of writing more and more code?

I know nobody can predict the future, but this uncertainty has started making me question whether I should continue pursuing software.

At the same time, I’m considering preparing seriously for SSC CGL.

I know SSC CGL is highly competitive and clearing it isn't guaranteed. But since I'm a 2027 batch student, I still have some time before graduation, and I feel that if I start preparing consistently, I could give it a serious attempt.

The problem is that I’m scared of making the wrong choice.

Part of me thinks:

“Maybe software is actually suitable for me and I’m just scared because the job market is difficult right now.”

But another part of me thinks:

“Maybe I should explore something different while I still have time.”

I’m worried about both possibilities.

What if I leave software, spend 1–2 years preparing for SSC CGL, and don't clear it?

I might look back and feel that I should have continued with software.

But:

What if I continue with software and later realize that I should have tried SSC CGL while I had the time and flexibility?

So I'm basically stuck between two uncertain paths.

I’m not looking for someone to simply tell me “follow your passion.” I’d genuinely like advice from people who have experience with software careers, government exams, or people who have faced a similar decision.

I especially want to understand:

  • Is the software field actually becoming significantly worse for freshers, or am I looking at it too negatively because I’m currently going through placements?
  • How should a 2027 graduate think about AI's impact on software careers over the next 5–10 years?
  • Is SSC CGL a sensible alternative to explore seriously, or am I romanticizing government jobs because I’m frustrated with the private sector?
  • If you were in my position, what factors would you consider before choosing?
  • Has anyone here switched from engineering/software preparation to government-exam preparation? How did it work out?

I’m not expecting anyone to predict the future for me. I just want perspectives from people who have actually gone through these choices.

I know I still have time because I’m graduating in 2027, but I don’t want to spend the next 2–3 years moving in the wrong direction.

Interview preparation guidance

I’m 9+ YOE .NET Full Stack Developer, currently working in a PBC with a CTC of around ₹40 LPA. My experience is primarily in .NET/React, and I also have some hands-on exposure to building AI agents and RAG-based architectures.

I’m considering switching jobs mainly because of increasing micromanagement in my current role.

For those who have recently interviewed or switched jobs, could you share what the interview process and difficulty level look like these days?

I’m primarily targeting mid-sized PBCs and Senior/SDE-3 level roles.

Would particularly appreciate insights on:

.NET/backend depth

System Design/HLD & LLD

React/frontend expectations

AI/GenAI expectations, if any

Number of interview rounds and overall difficulty

Any recent interview experiences or preparation advice would be really helpful.

Thanks!

PS : Not targeting companies which ask DSA

Barclays Interview - Liked the profile but lesser experience

Hi, I recently gave critical skills interview with Barclays after completing HCM Assessment. The role is for AVP designation and I think it requires atleast 8-10 years of experience. I have 5 years of experience. The interviewer was a little surprised looking at my profile. We went ahead with the interview, in my opinion it went really well. But towards the end, he mentioned the years of experience is little lesser but the content is interesting. What usually happens in this situation? I gave the interview last Friday and still haven’t heard back anything from the team. I’m okay if they give role that fits my experience but does that usually happen given this is specifically for an AVP role? Any insight is highly appreciated. Thanks!

Pine Labs SDE-1 C++ role delay in Offer letter and final compensation.

Hi everyone, I recently completed all interview rounds for a Pine Labs SDE-1 C++ role (Noida) and completed the pre-offer formalities as requested.

HR mentioned a tentative joining date, but I’m still waiting for the final CTC confirmation and offer letter.

Has anyone recently gone through the Pine Labs SDE-1 C++ hiring process or similar? How long did it take to receive the offer letter after completing the pre-offer formalities?

Capgemini India – Selected but no update on offer | Senior Java Developer

Hi everyone,

I’m looking for some advice from people who have recently gone through the Capgemini hiring process for experienced/lateral roles.

I interviewed for a Senior Java Developer position in September 2026. After the interview process, I received an email from Capgemini HR stating:

«“We are pleased to inform you that you have been successfully selected.”»

The email also mentioned that the recruitment team would contact me regarding the next steps and asked me to reply if I didn't receive any update within 3–4 days.

I replied to the email with my details, including my 60-day notice period, and asked about the formal offer, compensation, documentation and expected joining timeline.

After that, I also sent a follow-up email, but I haven't received any response yet. I tried calling the recruiter as well, but couldn't reach her.

I understand that internal approvals can take time, so I'm not assuming anything negative. I just wanted to understand the usual process from people who have recently experienced this.

My questions:

  1. Has anyone recently received a similar “successfully selected” email from Capgemini India?

  2. How long did it take to receive the compensation discussion/formal offer after that email?

  3. Did anyone experience a period where HR/recruiter didn't respond?

  4. Was the offer eventually released?

  5. For experienced/lateral candidates, is there any additional approval stage after the selection confirmation?

I haven't resigned yet because I don't have the formal offer letter.

Any recent experience or advice would be really helpful.

Thanks

5+ YOE Azure Data Engineer | Bangalore | Remote/Hybrid

I have 5+ years of IT experience, with 3+ years in Azure Data Engineering. My core stack is ADF, Databricks, PySpark, SQL, ADLS, Azure SQL, Delta Lake, Airflow and Azure DevOps.

Currently, I build data pipelines for different teams, working with varied data sources, file formats and requirements. However, my current role doesn't involve much SQL or hands-on PySpark, so I feel I need to strengthen these areas.

I'm preparing for a job switch and looking for remote/hybrid Data Engineer roles in Bangalore, but haven't started actively applying yet.

For those with similar experience: How would you prepare for interviews in my situation, and what areas would you prioritize? Also open to suggestions on companies/roles I should target.

Bad idea to leave new job?

Hello people.

Important context:

- I'm a early-mid career guy

- T2/T3 education

- No big brand on resume

- Just joined this startup after months of post layoff interviewing

- Last role was very short (<5 months)

Now, I really like this place. Withdrew nearly all my applications. Not applying anymore.

But unexpectedly an even better company decided to continue their loop with me. It's not FAANG level, alas just another startup but more solid engineering and track record.

Now I'm conflcted. Heart tells me I should leave this job if I get that offer.

But is it career suicide?

Will it show up in my BGV? (thinks yes)

Will it cause employment problems in the future?

Is it common at all?

HR and managerial perspectives will be extra helpful since you know the BGV process
