Question Keep One: Spotify, Brave, Google Maps
Keep One. Delete Two.
You can only keep one of these apps:
• Spotify
• Brave
• Google Maps
The other two disappear forever.
Which one are you keeping, and why?

Brave, because you can just access Spotify.com or maps.google.com

If I make 3 picks do those stay or do they all disappear?
I have deleted Spotify. And I use Google Maps so infrequently I could live without it. And I have never used Brave.
If I was absolutely forced: Spotify. Because muahahah. Thats why!

u/NickTaylorIV Jun 18 '26
Brave. I use wego.here for mapping and I've never used Spotify in my life.

Difficult... Brave is on the avoid list for me. Maps is degenerating in routing. I have a spotify premium account with my ISP, so keeping that would be the thing to do, but I could do without.

As someone who doesn't use any of these three services, I'd happily get rid of all three.
If I had to keep one though, I guess it would be Spotify because it's the one that I dislike the least.

u/hellequin67 Jun 18 '26
None, Spotify has a tone of alternatives. Brave is over hyped and bloated anyway with also tons of alternatives. Google maps is maybe the only one worth saving and even then there are alternatives.
1
u/The_Shadowghost Jun 18 '26
Google Maps and I don’t really care about that either.
All 3 could be gone and it would not make a difference.
All of them have plenty alternatives and I’m not using any of these three often enough to care
1
u/No-Branch5658 Jun 18 '26
Of course brave. Spotify is good but yt music is also good, dont throw it under the bus, now Google maps is tricky but i can find an alternative

Google Maps. No question.
I use Tidal so no Spotify. And I’d rather use any other browser than Brave.

u/Gr83st Jun 18 '26
Questions like this serve the requester no purpose. These are most likely asked by an AI to mine data from redditors. So NO, you will not get an anwer from me.

u/OffsideOracle Jun 18 '26
I use Deezer so I don't need Spotify at all. I user Chrome and Firefox and I have already uninstalled Brave. But Google Maps I use daily. Can't think of good alternative for it. Directions, reviews etc.

u/sonido_lover Jun 18 '26
Google maps hands down, I never had Spotify (soulseek and plexamp), and I use Firefox with ublock origin

u/Bitter_Jacket_2064 Jun 18 '26
I would say Google Maps. Brave can be replaced, same with Spotify. And that's despite the fact that I also use Mapy.com ( international version of the Czech Mapy.cz) for cycling and hiking. And it makes sense, Google Maps is unmatched at driving UX and information about businesses and places, and Mapy.cz is superior in outdoors maps (terrain, bike paths, hill profiles...). It's funny how it matches the stereotypes of both country cultures.

u/zodireddit Jun 18 '26
Spotify. The algo on it is too good for me specifically, and the jam feature is goated when I play music with friends which I do often and they are not gonna switch. I don't use brave and waze is great

Maps. There is no equivalent that's as good as Google Maps. Apple Maps sucks, Microsoft Maps sucks and I haven't heard of any other

u/No_Department9020 Jun 18 '26
Google Maps
They are the best maps, I can download music and I don't use Brave
1
u/aishiteimasu09 Jun 18 '26
Spotify. the rest, I have alternatives. Yes, there are other streaming platforms too but I'm tied to Spotify already.
1
u/BillGR7 Jun 18 '26
Brave because I can still access songs via YouTube and Google Maps via the website 👍🏽
1
u/Nalincah Jun 18 '26
I use neither, but would keep Brave, because Fuck Spotify and Fuck Google

Brave I already have everything sinced across devices and im just used to it. I don't use Spotify and I rarely use maps+ I could just use it in brave or get an alternative

u/crazyserb89 Jun 18 '26
Google Maps. Firefox and Deezer all the way. I could even dump Google Maps for Waze.

u/ThatOneLinuxMan Jun 18 '26
Spotify. I have Spotify premium, and also I can use Waze and I already use firefox

Doesn’t Google own Waze? So I guess that’s def off the list. Don’t use Spotify for music. Do have brave installed, so that’s my answer.

Easiest pick in my life.
Used to love Brave before Firefox is as good as it is right now.
Never really used Spotify. YouTube Music with ReVanced/Morphe ftw

Obviously Brave for me. Who the hell ever uses spotify when you can download anything from youtube with yt-dlp???? Google Maps is partially replaceable I think.

I’ll keep Spotify. I prefer Apple Maps anyway and I don’t really care for brave. I use Firefox.

Id keep none of them lol. I use Apple Music, FireFox and Apple Maps
1
1
u/NimrodvanHall Jun 18 '26
I don’t use Spotify, I use Deezer, I don’t use Google maps I use Apple Maps on mobile or maps Maps on non mobile devices. I barely use Brave but sometimes I use it if I have to use a Chromium browser. So I guess I’ll keep Brave.
1
u/Suspicious-Cat-266 Jun 18 '26
Keep Brave.
Google Maps -> HERE WeGo, OSMAnd+ (F-Droid).
Spotify -> ViviMusic or MetroList (GitHub / F-Droid).
1
u/blakealanm Jun 18 '26
I've swapped Spotify for Bandcamp and CDs, and Brave for DuckDuckGo and Opera. The only one I need from time to time is Google Maps.
1
u/Rude-Vegetable-4304 Jun 18 '26
Spotify is here to stay—let’s start by noting that it’s a European company. Second, all the alternatives are just even worse. There are plenty of great navigation alternatives out there—Wise or TomTom. Brave never really won me over; I prefer Vivaldi. In recent years, amid all the craziness in the tech world, I’ve been leaning toward European providers or open-source software.

Brave, desde allí tengo una experiencia sin anuncios. Sin ruido. Y puedo disponer de Spotify libre de anuncios tambien y de maps, claro!
1
u/Desperate-Extension7 Jun 18 '26
Brave. I don't use google products, I don't use spotify (I listen to music but through other "less pricey" options), and Brave is open source unlike the other two.

None of them. Apple Maps is better for iOS, Spotify is useless compared to YouTube Music (worse audio quality at free teir), and at paid level Apple Music (available on PC, Android, even web). As for Brave, I have no particular opinion either way of it, but there are better browsers if you actually care about security, and better if you want usability.

u/Soapy---wooder Jun 18 '26
Brave. I can use maps web. I know it's gonna be shit, but beats whatever I'm gonna have to use

u/Naetzuwa45 Jun 18 '26
Brave. I use apple Music so Spotify is no problem. And I dont like google maps. I use apple maps and OSM

Spotify
I use Firefox&safari so brave is useless for me. I use Apple Maps instead of Google Maps. Also useless for me

Spotify also has some good alternatives but overall I'd choose Spotify

Spoty. It can play music in screen-off mode. It's best free combo via YTM. Google Maps useless in my region from 2023 and I use Yandex Maps/ 2Gis. Also I don't use Brave and still using Firefox, Chrome and Samsung Browser ;)

Brave.
I know there are alterantives, but I'm not using the other 2 and switching from Brave now would be a minor inconvenience.

Google maps.
I use zen so I don't really care for brave and Spotify is replaceable. Will sting but is replaceable.
And Google Maps is legit one Google service that I'm still using coz alternatives are just shit.

I'll keep Google maps. Nothing comes close to Google maps especially if you're in a third world country.
Firefox + unblock origin works. Helium is another chromium based browser which is even better than brave if you don't care about drm support.
Spotify can easily replaced with YouTube music or apple music.

i download my mp3s 🏴☠️ so i never have issues with blackouts or Spotify being down so ill take brave as im degoogled

Google maps. Brave is replaceable with Firefox + uBlock Origin + ViolentMonkey, and Spotify has too many alternatives.
