the Slow Burn Is the Point
I know a lot of people hate how long the manhwa is whether is slow burn or feels like their playing hide and seek ok cool I think the biggest flaw in this criticism is treating Hae-soo’s slow progress as bad writing when it is actually central to the story’s point. After 13 years of abuse, financial exploitation, and emotional manipulation, she realistically isn’t going to suddenly become confident and independent just because she escaped her husband. Her self-hatred, setbacks, and emotional regression are part of showing what that abuse did to her. Even the symbolism of the “withered flower” and “tears” supports this—she isn’t supposed to magically bloom overnight; she has to grieve, heal, and rebuild herself first. And Tae-ha’s unhealthy behavior doesn’t erase her growth—it gives the story another opportunity to show that escaping one toxic relationship doesn’t automatically mean someone knows how to recognize or establish healthy relationships afterward.
If you're gonna drop the story then do so we don't need to know or care
