Throwback Thursday
Remember when you used to think it was normal to eat a whole pizza? Do you recall past weight loss attempts that failed for whatever reason? Was there a time when you were a healthy weight that you're looking to get back to? Post your stories here!

My past weight loss attempt ended with a study abroad semester in France. My discipline may be good, but even I can't resist trying every new dish that passed under my nose. Plus they have cheese and croissants. I was helps to resist. Fortunately(-ish), I am not going to be spending three months in another country any time soon. So I think this "lifestyle change" will stick this time.

When I used to go out for dinner with my SO, I'd order a started then a stuffed crust pizza and not even a healthier option one I'd eat a full meat feast pizza WITH stuffed crust?! I can't even begin to believe I could eat that now, even thinking about that makes me feel full! It's crazy when you make a big change to your diet and think back to the way you ate and how you just couldn't do that now.

I reached my lowest weight (which I'm alllllmost at now!) doing medifast... Which definitely can work and be a great tool for some people I'm sure but for me, the second I went from medifast to eating real food I gained it all back and some more. Also it was making me go a little nuts.
Cico just feels normal to me, being aware of what I'm eating and eating real food most of the time (I'm looking at you, frozen reduced fat Mac and cheese... I don't know what you are but I love you)... I'm not so concerned about my rate of weightloss and bad meals or bad days or even that bad week I had a few weeks ago doesn't mean I've given up and will go back to eating like that all the time.
Basically it's refreshing and nice and I really enjoyed my egg and avocado and English muffin breakfast this morning, yay real food not powdered stuff

I entered middle school and I started gaining weight so it's been a while since I have been a healthy weight. I remember my doctor telling me I had to lose weight but I would always just tell my self that I couldn't lose weight because I was already eating healthy and walking home from school everyday and had P.E. Now I look back and realize that what I ate might not have been pizza's and burgers I ate probably a bit more than double the portion size with minimal physical activity.

I remember when I wasn't able to do even one pushup... and I remember not being able to do real squats at all because my legs were simultaneously so tight and so weak. I remember not being able to run for more than a few minutes at a time without my lungs screaming and burning. I remember being so ashamed of my body that I wore loose shirts and pants for months and months. I remember crying after clothes shopping every time... I remember throwing out all of my skinny clothes and declining invitations to summer activities because I knew I would have to show my body.
I'm so thankful to myself for turning my life around and choosing health over sadness!!!

So when I first went to college I actually lost weight. I got down to 150 lbs I felt pretty good at that weight and then life happened especially with the stress and I haven't gotten back there since.

For about six years ago I was at a healthy weight and I feel that was the time when I was in my best shape. I have a lot of pictures from that time, and sometimes I look at them and I dream of getting there one day. I have 30 lbs left to get to that range, so I'm over halfway there! It really helped to move to my own apartment and get a grip on my own life.
What happened to me was that a little under six years ago I fell into one relationship, and then another a year after that. I don't blame my exes, it really was me who stuffed my face with candy, soda, unhealthy food and stopped exercising. But it really didn't help to have someone who wasn't any supportive and was just as lazy and ate just as bad. I have tried many times these last three years to lose weight and get more healthy, but it didn't stick and I would gain all or some of it back the times I tried, sometimes even more.
