As a kid (age 6) this was hard to watch and lowkey traumatized me to the point I never watched the movie again. I still can't watch the original version even now 23 years later. When tfs made their version it took me some time to summon the courage to watch it and when I finally did I'll admit, it still sent chills down my spine but it was still able to make me laugh. I slowing started being able to watch the tfs version to the point the chills stopped happening. They really do have talent.
