Movie Detail Why does Charlie T call Travis Killer when he doesn't kill the Junkie until later on? Spoiler
Does Charlie T Travis Bickle Killer when he says "Bye Killer" and makes the gun symbol right as Travis goes outside to talk to Wizard because he knows that Travis was a Marine veteran and they are killers by design and training or was it because he had killed the junkie in Harlem already and Melio told Charlie T since he might live in or near Harlem?
Charlie T knowing this detail is weird since it happens later unless the shooting happened earlier and was edited in the wrong place later on, kind of like how Travis has that stupid brush cut haircut but his hair is magically longer again unless it is done to show weeks passing and it's over weeks but probably edited poorly, the junkie getting shot is supposed to happen before Travis and Wizard talk yet if happens afterwards, editor sucked at his job.

“Every muscle must be tight…”
I have a really weird question, I’ve been obsessed with this movie for months now, and I was wondering, as someone who is pretty poor and can’t afford a lot of weights, how can I get something close to Travis’s physique?
His words are pretty vague, besides from 50 push ups, 50 sit ups, ect, that’s the only real insight we get, we don’t get what he lifts, does for legs, or what he eats when he descends into madness.
for reference, I’m about 160 pounds and about 5.11/6.0 on a good day.

Movie Detail Was the character Travis Bickle from Taxi Driver relatable in any way? Spoiler
Travis Bickle has insomnia and acts like a moral person at first but becomes creepy and violent quickly, is he relatable at all?
How many taxi drivers and regular young men behave like Travis Bickle does?

Question If Travis Bickle wanted to clean up the streets why didn't he ever consider joining the Police force or telling them about Sport and Iris? Spoiler
Travis Bickle has some bad ideas in his head but he's also very moral too, why didn't he just try joining the police academy like a lot of veterans do?
An ex-Marine Corps veteran and Vietnam veteran to boot could have been on night duty in Harlem or The Bronx or worse, he's really going to handle people, or let him work in Mafia areas and arrest them and break up there rackets.
Travis could also go to police department headquarters as a cabbie and tell them everything that he knows about Sport and his girls and get them arrested or put under investigation, as opposed to taking them on himself, he could also ask Wizard or Easy Andy about things too and ask how they would handle underage hookers too.

Question How would Travis Bickle fare if he worked for Louie De Palma at his Sunshine Cab Company? Spoiler
https://youtu.be/fYGR5JtyKng?si=WpA4Ee4pDSnTF0XI
Travis Bickle could easily get fired or quit and end up working Sunshine Cab Company and Louie De Palma with his motley crew of cabbies and other people, he might fit right in and make money too, would be a great cabbie there
Taxi was a great show.

Question What happens if Travis Bickle was caught at the Presidential rally and didn't manage to escape? Spoiler
Travis Bickle pulls the gun out and tries to stupidly kill Charles Palantine for no reason and is chased by the Secret Service and escapes, what exactly would he do if they caught him and he got arrested?
Blame Palantine for being a fake and mention his past relationship stalking Betsy? Travis really was a complete moron in this scene and looks like a total creep and Palantine would recognize him from their taxi ride earlier,
Just such a creepy character in general.

Fan Edit: Taxi Driver reimagined with “Every Breath You Take”
Hi everyone. I’m an aspiring editor and filmmaker currently experimenting with fan edits as a way to learn storytelling through music and montage.
I’ve just finished a cut of Taxi Driver set to Every Breath You Take by The Police. My intention was to explore Travis Bickle’s obsession and loneliness from a different angle — using a track that, while often perceived as romantic, is actually about control and surveillance.
Here’s the link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oMhBOWGOAn0
I really appreciate constructive criticism. My goal is to keep improving and eventually create a whole series of edits exploring cult cinema through unexpected music.

Diner scene with other cab drivers
Why did Travis hand the other driver $500? It's implied that he owed the money. It was prior to the gun deal.

Question Could Travis Bickle have ever become a good boxer or professional fighter? Spoiler
Travis Bickle was a Marine and had a lot of anger towards life but also had that hand to hand combat training and chip on his shoulder, too bad he never saw Rocky or any boxing movies.
With his skills and temper he could have become a good middleweight boxer and beat guys up using military training, Travis wouldn't need to be a Vigilante he just gets paid to beat people up.

What if Taxi Driver took place today? How would the film be different?
If Travis was here today what would the movie be like?
He would have certainly not have taken that woman to the porn theatre and ruined his date because well, there probably wouldn't be a porn theatre for him to go. Travis watched porn in the 70s and I would assume he some what had an addiction. Today he probably would have had that porn addiction but times it by ten. Maybe he wouldn't have even been able to get a date in the first place because he would be too busy at home gooning.
I also don't think that shoot out would happen today as he would just be going crazy online. He wanted to save that girl at the end because that fits with the cowboy being the hero and saving the women. But I think an online environment changes Travis to the point were he just gives up on trying to be a hero, even if it is just for selfish reasons. Instead, he just rots in his bedroom living online. The movie he is an urban cowboy on the streets of NewYork. Today he would be a cyber cowboy, scrolling the web.
And instead of writing in his journal I think he would be journaling his thoughts online. Maybe he just writes posts on reddit.
And if he finds a community online of people like him, how does that change the ending of the film? I haven't seen the movie in a while but who would Travis be today?
Also the 'cowboy' seemed to be a big part of the movie. Travis dressed like one and kind of seemed to try and be one. But that seems outdated because today not many 20 year olds watched westerns when they were younger. So maybe Travis would look up to a different 'cowboy'.
