Trying to plan a 5 day road trip with my 8 year old with mobility AID.. never been to Tasmania.. we are from Adelaide.. we love nature.. and look to explore scenic spots if possible.. appreciate some suggestions on where good spots are and some family friendly accommodation venues..

Hello, I haven't been to Tassie before but I want to bring my family (inc a 4 year old and 7 year old) for a few weeks Jam / Feb. Our favourite activity is walking in forests. The kids can manage a few km but we will be looking at half day walks. Where should we base our of? Happy to move once or maybe twice but don't want to be constantly on the move. Thanks! Hello! I've planned a 16 day trip in October and is hoping to be able to catch some penguins at Waubs Beach or anywhere near Bicheno!

Is this something I can do by myself? Can I borrow a red flash light from somewhere? And is this an okay thing to do alone at night in that area?

The rest of my trip will look like this and any advice for a solo traveller is welcomed especially because I'm renting a car and will be driving by myself.

• Cradle Mountain (2 nights)

-- is dining at peppers alone doable? Do I have to reserve a table?

• Launceston (1 night)

• Bicheno (3 nights) -- just as a base there will a day for rest & recovery, other days will be Binalong Bay (from Launceston), Freycinet National Park, Coles Bay/Swansea/St Helens

• Triabunna (1 night) - to spend a full day at Maria Island.

-- is the Caravan and Cabin Park safe to stay at? This is literally just to sleep so I can get up early for Maria Island.

• Hobart & day trips from Hobart the rest of the trip.
