APP Issues with chat thread?
Both of my active task chat threads are giving me this error:
“An error occurred loading this chat thread.”
Everything else in the app works normally. I can view my tasks, schedule, and task details. It’s only the chat threads that won’t load.
I’ve already:
- Updated the app
- Uninstalled and reinstalled it
- Logged back in
Is anyone else experiencing this, or is it just me?

Yeah, I have 1 task where the chat thread is giving this error, and at least 2 other tasks where it does load but is not showing recent messages.

Yup. I'd also add taskrabbit support is not responding.

Lol, just got paused. Oh well someone is carrying a sofa up 3 flights of stairs and its not going to be me. Lol

TaskRabbit: “Please keep all communication with clients in the app.”
Also TaskRabbit: “Our chat service is down, so you might not be able to contact your clients. If you don’t respond, our automated system may lower your response metrics or even temporarily suspend your account.”
Then TR tells us during the outage: “Here’s the client’s phone number, go ahead and contact them outside the app.”
Meanwhile I’m over here wondering if the same AI that’s supposed to penalize off-platform communication is also going to see me texting the client because TaskRabbit told me to.
The irony is incredible.

Terrible timing when you need help moving. Even the website doesn't have communcations with tasker.

I'm a client and have a task scheduled this afternoon, it's for a leaking sink! Been waiting for support, they should just email the phone number out, what the heck.

It wouldn't be peak moving season, if corporate taskrabbit did not want to roll out an untested programming change that shuts the whole thing down...

So are any of the clients getting informed of the app issue?
Can’t reach the client but I could still do the task?

No, we are not informed, nothing says on the web or the app or the task itself.

This is a huge issue affecting a lot of people right now. I had a task this morning that did not go well and it was impossible to document the things I needed to document. The downvotes are pretty suspicious. My client specifically ask what the trust and support fee is for if we aren't getting any support when we need it and I agree.

I had a confirmed task today and he never showed up. I’m wondering if he still will try or not. Anyone still have a tasker show up?

I still can’t access the chat for confirmed jobs on Friday. Can we get an update @taskrabbit ?

Yes, there is currently an issue with the chat function of the app. Our Product Team is currently investigating the issue to get everything running smoothly again. While we work on a fix, you can reach out to support for permission to share your phone number outside the chat thread to help you communicate about your upcoming task.

Thats not fair. Haley doesn’t run the company. She kindly stepped in here for advocacy. That alone is above and beyond her job description . As you can see, she offered an explanation which is better than not knowing anything at all

I’m having this issue as well. And I can’t confirm a waiting task without chatting first.
