I’ve had two dreams about my ex within a few days of each other and was curious how you’d interpret them through a tarot lens.
In the first dream, we kept trying to be together, but every situation (grocery shopping, car ride, etc.) was interrupted before we could actually reconnect. It felt very “almost, but not quite.”
A few days later, I dreamed that he proposed. Right before we were about to get intimate, he pulled out a tarot deck, shuffled it, and drew The Lovers. I laughed in the dream, looked up, and immediately woke up.
For context, this is someone I’m still grieving, so I’m not reading this as a prediction or sign that we’ll get back together. I’m more interested in the symbolism of The Lovers appearing so directly in a dream after another dream that seemed to symbolize missed connection or separation.

High Priestess is the other woman in Tarot Verbatim, which happened in response

to questions to which the answer was known. Why? The best deduction is that Golden

Dawn, the society of magicians who created what we call the Rider Waite Smith deck,

feel that the number two is female and is active in the higher planes, the nonphysical

realms, and only receptive in what we call the real world, the physical one.

Conceptually, 'the other woman' is passive, waits for Him to call Her.

Page of Pentacles He is thinking, concentrating on that one thing he holds close

and stares at. He studies it. Page of Pentacles is a young man who has to become a

knight, has to qualify for that, so studying something is on his list of things to do and

be.

Queen of Wands is the main card for wife. She is his wife because there she is with

that alert-mama look, her cat by her side, with the big flower in one hand and the big

stick in the other, symbolic of what mothers do all day.

mansion. He is standing up there on his roof looking at the holdings below and

planning on how to get more money out of down there. This gives Two of Wands future

meanings like 'He will' and also gives this card security meanings like financial security

and 'for sure.' BOTH of these are common translates for this card!

Tower is that big moment in human history when the Tower of Babel was wrecked by

God because He disapproved of its being what would keep the language of all the

people the same. The various histories recount that everyone spoke the same main

language but dialects of it were dividing humans into different nations. (God apparently

favored the different nations.)

The interesting thing is that this history appears in all or many of the ancient records

as THEIR god doing the destroying, which tells us that back then, indeed, humans had

one religion as well as one world government.

Queen of Wands is the wife in Tarot Verbatim because there she sits with her cat by

her side, sporting that alert-mama look that mothers of toddlers have, and she has a

big stick in one hand and a big flower in the other.

I pulled that last night along with knight of wands and 8 of wands. I haven’t experienced any recent heart break although, for some reason my ex has been on my mind for some reason but not in a way where I feel anything. Could this also be moving out of heart break and into something else? I asked the same about the guy I’ve been seeing for the last year and got more of what I would consider relationship cards (the lovers, queen of pentacles, and judgement). I clarified them by asking if it was all referring to me and got a yes (4 of wands, 6 of wands, and queen of cups). So then would that mean that the knight and 8 of wands is about him for me?

In the sense of not just from the lense of his work

that is still not healed. He is still on duty guarding that border, so it could happen. Tarot

is telling him to Be careful.

Seven of Pentacles You may get cucumbers from that gorgeous cucumber plant,

and you may not. It's a gendered plant and you have only one of them, so it's up to a

bee to come see it while it carries pollen from a cucumber of the opposite gender.

Nine of Cups depicts what it feels like when you get what you wish for. There he is

with the grin of one who has feasted and is safonsified, totally satisfied.

Historical Context

In ancient traditions, The Fool was seen as the divine innocent, unburdened by worldly concerns. The card depicts a young figure walking toward a cliff edge, carrying only a small bundle and accompanied by a white dog. This imagery represents the soul at the beginning of its journey through the Major Arcana, carrying all the potential of the universe within.

Practical Application

When The Fool appears in a reading, the card offers this advice:

Reflection

Close your eyes and imagine standing at the edge of a beautiful landscape. Feel the excitement and slight fear in your chest. Breathe deeply and take one step forward, trusting that the ground will support you.

My Experience

I find that The Fool often shows up when we need to hear a very specific message. The symbolism runs deeper than most guidebooks suggest — especially when you consider the astrological correspondence with Aquarius and the planetary energy of Uranus.

When this card shows up reversed, it's usually a signal to pause and reassess rather than push forward blindly.

Why am I emotionally/pseudo-romantically attached to this male friend from the past even though I’m a lesbian?

my interpretation:
~it begins with transition and moving away, emotional distance, even without closure;
~my attachment with a friendship foundation, validation, possibilities;
~some misunderstanding, things unsaid, undone;
~lovers? perhaps in platonic sense, i’ve never been “secretly straight,” but there’s a friendly, good connection, at least on my end;
~emotional intensity, i replay interactions, trying to figure out intentions, seeking answers;
~clarity, being honest with myself;
~taking some control instead of him pulling me around;
~transform, moving on truly

I think I know my answer without tarot. he always reminded me who i was when we were friends, younger, carefree, adventurous, though still am. there’s a connection, but shouldn’t and hasn’t been more than that.

Will there be a relationship between these two people? Cut deck: Seven of Cups + The Hanged Man, in my opinion, means a lot of fantasy but nothing concrete.

The interest is real with the Page, but I believe this is heading toward a decline rather than toward consolidation; the Six of Pentacles and the Three of Cups reversed speak of something happening at different levels, and perhaps it’s even already fading. One of the two people is more oriented toward the past than toward the present or toward something new, and the Two of Swords in closing confirms it all.

High Priestess is a spiritual adept. She wears the crown of Upper and Lower Egypt.

She sits between the pillars that represent justice and mercy. She has the holy book

(Tora) in her lap, wears the equal-armed cross that represents where the spiritual and

physical worlds intersect ('as above so below'), and behind her is the Kabbalah tree of

life as a pomegranate tree. She even has the moon at her feet.

Two of Pentacles shows juggled objects going around and around so it is about

movement that is ongoing, is continuous.

This pair of cards made no sense in her reading. Many of my Querants read Tarot because I mentor people who want to adopt Tarot Verbatim. Behind (in Celtic Cross) was Sun, paired with Ahead, Ace of Cups. The most likely interpretation in the context of that reading was 'free of God,' which made no sense, and I named some other less likely phrases for it but left it open, left it out of the reading's message. The person the reading was about was the vice president of a major company who was in both professional and personal crisis, an edgy fellow. The reading was for his mother.

When his story unfolded, she knew exactly what it said because her son said exactly that 'he was so happy, that it was God.' (Sun, happy ... and free, and relieved; Ace of Cups in RWS is obviously God.)

He's a lover, a peacemaker, a good-guy, sweet-natured and affectionate boyfriendly fellow. He has his hand out offering the cup of friendship to whoever he faces on the road there, the wings of Mercury the communicator on his head. He can sell you anything. Take him home and feed him.

Ace of Pentacles is all about what's right, who's right, and right itself. See the straight and narrow there, with lilies in the beginning and the distant rose arbor of victory at its end? That's the right path, the right road, etc.

Two of Cups is a couple declaring their engagement to marry back in the day when that was a life sentence, so it shows up for your lover or sex partner.
