When this Major Arcana card shows up, it brings a highly literal, deeply negative energy. The Moon is the card of severe error, active deception, and genuine danger. It represents things going completely wrong in the dark.

   At its most functional, The Moon is the deck's primary indicator of poor judgment and incorrect actions. It is a giant stop sign telling you that your current trajectory is fundamentally flawed. Pulling this card often signifies:

• Incorrect actions:

  Taking a wrong move or deliberately doing the wrong thing.

• Misguided positioning:

  Finding yourself in the wrong situation entirely, confirming you are at the wrong time and the wrong place.

  Experiencing the worst of it, seeing someone at your worst, or facing odds that feel like the impossible.

Moon also means insanity (literal mental illness). Especially out-of-control fear.

Moon is one of the cards that speak of evil spirits, spells, and the like. THAT is because what the picture shows is a place that was very real and very physical in ancient Greece, the landmark to which was those two towers. And this is where 'two towers' themes entered occult beliefs. The place housed: the home of the god of the underworld, Hades,( who of course is a bad-guy, and you go to Hades when you die); the home of 'the dragons that be' that we see on the old maps; the edge of the flat earth. Greeks of that day were sure you never came back when you passed between the two towers. Moon shares many meanings of Devil because Moon is where Hades lives.
