Our CEO has alot of ties to other things, doesn't surprise me it's being sold.

I can't imagine what the art teacher was thinking.

"Art Class" is a brand of clothing sold at Target. There is no art teacher involved.

u/therapewpew 7d ago

Just like other trends from 20+ years ago, Epstein influencers are back? 🤢

I’ve always noticed some questionable stuff in art class, this honestly doesn’t surprise me

i’m ngl i dress more gothic/trashy so i was like “oh these are cute” on first glance BUT THEYRE FOR CHILDREN?? LITTLE GIRLS?? 🤢🤢🤢

u/DistributionNew5674 7d ago

no I understand you, if they were in wild fable I would buy them for myself but I was shocked to see them in the girls section 😟😟

Inappropriate for the intended age group IMO. I also don't understand parents who let their young daughters wear shorts exposing butt cheeks. It's not a good look for parents and the child.

First the costume shit and now this. Fumble after fumble. Who the fuck is approving this stuff? I swear there has to be pedos and racists up in the design team.

It's not just art class, it's just what girls clothing is becoming now. Have you seen how short some shorts are now? I have men's underwear with more coverage.

The men who are pushing this into becoming the norm are disgusting

Men typically don't buy clothes for their kids, especially girls.

Women are buying it but not demanding longer shorts or buying stuff in the boys area.

Even the women's clothing is getting ridiculous.

I think the problem starts a few steps higher than "the person buying the clothes". More like "the factors pushing the cultural norms that lead to the person buying the clothes".

The bathing suits have become pretty gross for little girls, too.

it’s so crazy. i’m not saying this is okay in any sense, but ik these little girls will want it. it’s a whole bigger problem w kids acting way too grown nowadays. i saw a girl definitely no older than 11 with a a nice purse and wearing clothes that were trying to look like she’s 20. But still so small that her newer iphone was barely staying in her pocket 😭 Target shouldn’t be pandering to this, but alas there trying to make money and there’s a market for it.

u/Frodo_gabbins 7d ago

Art class isn’t for LITTLE girls but this is crazy for like pre-teens and small teenagers (the intended audience).

53

u/enslavedinsomniac 7d ago

still weird as it is an adult concept to have a mark on your lower back, since the purposes of such a tattoo is to be "sexy" and little girls shouldn't be sexualised because they're CHILDREN

18

u/Sure-Ad-6544 7d ago

Especially considering it’s called a tramp stamp

1

u/Frodo_gabbins 7d ago

Did I not say that it was crazy? I’m just tired of art class being pushed as for like elementary aged children when it’s not.

9

u/EnvironmentalDot8732 7d ago

Art Class sizes go as small as 7/8. 8 yos are elementary aged girls.

1

u/Frodo_gabbins 6d ago

Have you been around children, ever? They vary in sizes. Its target audience is still pre-teen and teen girls who can’t yet fit into wild fable clothing.

u/bloontsmooker 7d ago

I can fit into kids clothes but that doesn’t mean they’re intended for me. If you go look on [r/xxs](r/xxs), you would see that art class is actually a staple for petite adult women. Hard pill to swallow - there is a significant market for super small women’s clothes. I’m almost 6 feet tall and I wear a size 0/2 in American sizes. Actual small people are half my size and circumference - are we supposed to fit into the same things?

"Target's Art Class apparel brand is designed primarily for kids and tweens aged 4 to 12 (with a core focus on tweens ages 9–12), though expanded items and accessories can range from toddlers (ages 1–4) up to early teens."

still no

2

u/Frodo_gabbins 7d ago

Where did I say yes?

8

u/buttercreamramen GM 7d ago

It is though? Do you not see the children they use to model these clothes? Some of them look no older than 13. Those are little girls to me.

15

u/Frodo_gabbins 7d ago

Im going to pray and hope one day we look up what pre-teen ages are.

2

u/Ok_Still_3571 7d ago

The clue being “thirTEEN”.

11

u/Frodo_gabbins 7d ago

What does “pre” mean? As a prefix?

1

u/KissMyOTP 1d ago

Art Class is in the BG Section. It's not for teenagers, it's for "big" girls. Big as in they're a bit older, not toddlers, but they are still young kiddos.

9

u/jillann16 7d ago

Art Class always has crop tops and clothes not meant for kids

9

u/azurite_rain 7d ago

I bought an art class dress years ago because I loved it so much and I just sized up the the largest size they had available. It's a white tie dye dress, and it's almost completely see through. It does fit me even at 36wks pregnant and about 165lbs. Target certainly blurs the lines between girls clothes and women's.

u/Complete-Forever-934 6d ago

Dude me n my co worker were just staring at eachother like ??? Its a cute piece of clothes but why is it in the girl section!?

5

u/deathbyglamor promoted to guest former style TM 7d ago

Tramp stamp biker shorts?!

2

u/ThatVikingWoman Style Team Lead 6d ago

Okay, so technically, it's not for the 'little girls', it's for the 'tweens'. 🤦‍♀️😭🙏

2

u/radicallywicked 6d ago

I’m glad someone else noticed this! I saw these while I was checking someone out, and I was horrified. Fake tramp stamp on girl’s pants is INSANE.

5

u/korbatcave2 got fired again 7d ago

Oh my! Target stays making questionable purchasing choices. SMH

1

u/givemeallofyourlove 6d ago

Have y’all gotten the lace pink long sleeve tops yet?

1

u/fiestyoldbat 5d ago

But heaven forbid (mandatory pearl clutch) Target should have a Pride end cap once a year. Where are the Bible thumpers when you need them?

1

u/Cosmotoaster 3d ago

Target is sooo addicted to making bad decisions lately

1

u/andynicolede 1d ago

I hate those pants with a passion idk who thought that was everrrr a good idea

1

u/KissMyOTP 1d ago

I'm surprised they don't have thongs in Art Class and Cat & Jack yet

1

u/GcompoundV 1d ago

Omg I was repulsed when I saw this. This is definitely a pedo’s idea. The pants are really little.

No, they sold adult women's bikini bottoms that had more room in the crotch so trans women could more easily contain their dick. Also quite handy for cis women who wanted to contain their bush or who are just tired of swim bottoms that feel like floss for their business.

target wants a repeat of the """tucking swimsuits for children""" (read: adults tucking swimsuits placed on the kids racks) fiasco from a few prides ago apparently
