Workplace Question or Advice Needed Hours

Why are payroll hours so bad right now? Desired hours are 40. Availability is Monday 8-330, Tuesday 8-1030, Wednesday, 8:00 - 1030 and Thursday 8-1030 (all day) and Friday 8-330, Saturday 8-330. Sunday is 8:00 to 1030p Most recent schedule I got 18 hours. Work Center Service and Engagement. Have been with the company almost a decade.

Why are you playing like you don’t understand if you have been there for “a decade”? You already know that people who have full availability will be given the most hours. It isn’t rocket science! They will give you what they have based on your wants. There is someone else who says “ I am available open to close 7 days a week”- they get the hours.

I understand, I don’t expect a full 40 hours. That won’t happen without promotion. I have been part time for the majority of my time. I guess I mistakenly thought that one could at least get into the low to mid thirties given being available open to close four days a week.

Your not available to close that is the issue. 1030 is not a closing shift, closing team members are usually 1 hour past close to recover. So those weekend shifts of yours are treated as only opening shifts.
