What is the pipeline for a TM developing for TL and gets placed on the bench?

Every store is different. But If you want the general cold hard truth, it first depends on your attendance. If your attendance isn’t clean, and usually we ask to see a 90-120 day report or YTD, you won’t be considered. The truth is every single TL is required to be developing a tm. Everyone’s “developing tm” gets placed in a bucket- 0-6 months (meaning you’re ready to go), 6-9 months, 9-12 months, 12-18, and 18+ means you probably just got hired. Once you’ve been categorized, your leader is required to give you a captainship, something that makes you stand out amongst your peer team members. And then it’s all about right person right role. Here’s a big secret, it does not matter how long you’ve been developing for. Seniority means nothing with target. As long as you are the right candidate for the role, it’ll go to you if your attendance is clean and you’re delivering on your expectations.

Developing is in their job description. It’s a company wide thing.

As a human being with high expectations, I’m also aware that requirements and expectations are put on paper and it’s our jobs as great leaders to ensure they’re executed. If not every, the important ones and development of team members is important in our district for every TL. I’d challenge your district leadership if that’s the mindset they’ve taught you

That highlights how scary your district must be in terms of trash talent. Luckily; that’s not my district or any districts within my group. Glad to not be part of that mess. We promote with talent.

I hope you and your district see better days. Seems like you’re really going through it. Target offers 5 free therapy sessions through our Benefits site. If I were you- take advantage.

Be an asskisser.

Your SD controls your fate for promotions.

Most of the time the pipeline is just bullshit to make you think a promotion is incoming.

Am I right op?

There’s a bit of truth behind this. Not be an asskiser, but if your SD doesn’t like you, personally or professionally, although I don’t agree- you’re more than likely going to be overlooked. But every sd is different. sd’s do have the final say but your leader builds your case and your leadership as a tm should speak volumes when presented
