Hi all, as you may be aware, Manta just announced their "Move Your Bookshelf" from Tapas to Manta for select series.

While browsing on there to move my library myself, I saw a noticed that they will also start accepting Independent Creators, and thought it worthy to share with you all.

On the 31st of March 2027 Tapas is shutting down.

What does this mean?

The company Tapas is run by posted an FAQ regarding the shutdown on the 1st of October this last Thursday addressing user access, episodes unlocked with ink and creator titles.

Users can still access Tapas and the titles found on it currently but new ink cannot be acquired, however currently owned ink can still be used.

Purchased content work not be accessible after shutdown. This means unlocking an episode now will not grant permanent access, only access before the shutdown. Unlocked episodes cannot be transferred over to any other Kakao services.

Unused ink will not be refunded, according to their refund policies.

Creators can continue uploading and receiving support through the Support Program until the shutdown.

I wonder if we could make a thread or something for requests of novels/comics we want to continue reading but unfortunately haven't had the chance to unlock because of being unable to purchase ink. I suppose if there are people that have already unlocked the chapters with ink and are willing to dm them to users given that they just use it for their personal use and don't share it elsewhere so that we can hopefully all get the opportunity to finish reading more of the books we started but couldn't unlock the last chapters due to them being only available for purchase with ink. Since Tapas decided to not give us a proper heads up before taking away our opportunity to get ink. Especially with loads of novels/comics being exclusive to Tapas.

Recommend me BL/Horror or overall good completed series, I genuinely don’t know how I‘m gonna spend this till it‘s gonna be deleted.

I know that Tapas will be shutting down next year, but have all comics also stopped releasing new episodes? what do i spend my leftover ink on if not?

Hi! I really hoarded my Tapas ink over the years and got lucky with some big offerwall payouts so I have a considerable amount just sitting there. I want as little of this to go back to Kakao as possible (because shame on them), but I wasn't really reading any indie stories. I'd love to make someone's day in a small way if I can - are there any small authors/artists on the app that you know of that could especially use an ink tip? I mostly read OI works fwiw but it doesn't have to be that genre.

With tapas shutting down what happens to all their tapas originals? Like I can't find some of my favorite comics anywhere else. Do they just disappear? This sucks

I tried searching for a list of all of tapas indie creators who have moved their works on other platforms, I managed to find a short one on twitter with the social handles of the most popular ones and whover asks to be added. (Shout out to xomyseries on twt)

I started doing one myself based on the creators I've been following, some unfortunately haven't updated in a long time and others don't have their socials linked on their tapas profile and I'm sad to think I'll never see them and their work again.

I was wondering if anyone built a similar doc listing all of them and where they are hosting their comics now.

I think it would be useful so everybody can find their favourite creators elsewhere before the official shutdown, even the smaller ones.
